After the biggest job of her life goes sideways, artifact thief Lottie Luck is out of, well, luck. With no job on the horizon and only the clothes on her back, she makes a snap decision to head to Arrowmount, where her estranged sister lives, to regroup and figure out where she’s going next.
Kirandir Dulra, a favored Arrowmount town bard, is happy enough with the way her life is. By day, she’s a dishwasher for the local bar, and by night she performs for the regular townsfolk who frequent the Old’n Narrow. The routine works, but she dreams of more: a life in arcane lights with crowds calling her name.
However, everything is turned upside down when these two strangers get thrown together to organize the entertainment for an upcoming festival as emergency replacements one month out.
As the two try and find a rhythm, Lottie unearths truths about herself and Kir’s dream starts to become more realistic. In a story full of chilly autumnal nights and the golden glow of lantern light, these two women might just find more in each other than they bargained for.
J. A. Collignon (AKA: Jenna, but you can call her Jenn) is a Canadian author based out of the prairies, who loves everything fantasy. You name it: fantasy books, movies, TV shows, TTRPG podcasts, and she even ran a piratey Dungeons and Dragons campaign for her friends. Most often, she can be found on her couch with a thick fantasy book in hand.
I absolutely loved this cosy fantasy! The characters are so wonderful and this book feels like a warm hug! I laughed, I cried, and there were some truly lovely moments. Lottie and Kir are such lovely characters and their story was so well done! And I adore all of the side characters in Arrowmount! I can't wait to read more from this town and world.
I highly recommend for friends who enjoyed Legends and Lattes!
Also it has anxiety rep and so much queer rep!!!
TW: abandonment, death of a parent, grief, anxiety/ panic attack, alcohol
A very cosy fantasy featuring non-stop pining. If you are looking for a book set in a small town that feels like a giant hug, this is for you! Kir is a quiet, contemplative bard who works at the best little pub and lives with her dad, two brothers, and a giant pup Nudge. She gets roped into chairing the autumn moon festival, with newcomer Lottie, a thief on the run. This is a very sweet, low stakes small town story and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a cosy fantasy. A very chaste sapphic romance. Dual POV, lots of interesting and inclusive side characters too.
I especially loved the family feel between Kir's father and siblings, and Lottie and her family, both real and found. My only complaint is that it was maybe too low stakes, but if you need a comforting read, then this is for you!
I received an ARC copy in exchange for an unbiased review.
In A Little Luck, we travel back to Arrowmount and are introduced to goods curator (aka thief) Lottie Luck and the local bard Kirandir. After being betrayed by her partner and denied by the Guild, Lottie decides to regroup and take her latest acquired treasure to visit her estranged sister in Arrowmount. Once there, she is immediately smitten with Kir and offers to help her with the entertainment for the upcoming Moon Festival. When Lottie learns the Guild knows about the mysterious object she took, she must find a way to deal with them while keeping those she loves safe.
Going back to Arrowmount felt like drinking your favorite Fall beverage while being wrapped up in a warm blanket. All of the new townspeople we are introduced to are so charming, and it was great to run into a few characters from the first book to see what they’ve been up to. I loved every scene with Kir’s father and her brothers. Their family dynamic and banter were great, and they cared so much for one another. I also loved watching Lottie and Kir’s relationship develop. The author truly captured the nervousness and excitement you feel when you know you’ve met someone special, and no matter how much time you spend together, it never feels like enough. Pick this one up for a cozy fantasy with loveable townsfolk and autumnal vibes.
Thank you to Arrowmount Press and author J.A. Collignon for an eARC of A Little Luck in exchange for my honest review.
Absolutely love this book!! The banter and flirting was so fun. This author is always so amazing and describing a scenery so vividly that you feel like you’re in the book. Such a fun read

This book is listed as Arrowmount book 2, but it can be read as a standalone. I haven't read the first book yet, but I didn't feel lost at all. I'm willing to bet there are easter eggs or callbacks to the previous book that went over my head, but you can TOTALLY read this and enjoy it without having read the first one.
I highly suggest pairing this book with a tasty autumn hard cider (apple and pumpkin!), bonus points if you're reading it in a dark and cozy pub! Or, if pubs aren't your thing, enjoy with a warm cup of apple cider or spiced tea!
Overall, this is a book that I enjoyed as a break from more intense fantasy and romance reading. It was low-stakes while still having the movement of a story with an interesting conflict. I loved that the story also delved into the importance of family love and community. The descriptions of the town and the townsfolk and the lifestyle and all the food and drinks were probably my favorite parts. Can I just live in Arrowmount please??
It is a cute, cosy fantasy in a small town called Arrowmount. A dual point of view makes it more interesting. Lottie, a thief, and Kir, a bard, meet in a local bar during Kir’s performance. Since then they have both been roped into co-chairs of an entertainment committee. They work together and develop feelings for each other. It is a sweet story that does not have too much drama or any spice. It is comfortable and easy to read, especially after some heavier books.
What a treat to be back in Arrowmount and meet Kir and Lottie! ❤️❤️
I was always wondering if they were going to make it to the festival or if all that pining was going to kill them! A cozy romantasy for fans of thieves, music, and nosy small town neighbours.
ARC Review A Little Luck, while a sequel to A Second Story, follows a new set of main characters. It's set in the same cozy town, which is fantastic because us readers get to learn more about it and its people. The book is very well written and thought out. It hits every point I expect a cozy fantasy to have. The stakes are kept low, but not so low as to be slow and boring. There are lots of tender moments between various characters, not just the main girls. Lots of excellent queer representation too! A Little Luck is a perfect cozy read!
This book, much like the first one in this series, was so so charming. The characters were so perfectly rounded out with their own goals, fears, and motivations. The slow back and fourth of the start of a new relationship was so beautifully written. It was so sweet but also the uncertainty of what was going to happen next was devastating. The ending had my heart just bursting. Honestly this was so cozy and sweet. Cannot wait to read more from this author in the future.
A wonderfully cozy story with sapphic romance - it felt adventurous and soft. The writing captured that immersive feel into the world of Lottie luck and Arrowmount right away. If you’re looking for a cozy fall read, this is the place to start :)
DNF at 33% Nothing wrong with the book! I think I've just decided that most cosy fantasy is not for me. 33% in and there wasn't really enough happening to keep me interested. Totally fine for cosy fantasy lovers, just not me!
How can these books be so lovely, gentle, lovable, cute, kind, funny and perfect? Both books were perfect bedtime stories, good respites before sleep. Thank you Jenn for writing these books and I can't wait for your new stories😍
I enjoyed this for the most part, but it has its ups and downs. The main characters were interesting and likable, despite their flaws. The town was almost too good to be true. The only disagreements seemed to be between Lottie and her sister.
Unfortunately, this book just wasn't for me. I don't think it was a bad book in of itself, I actually think this book is great in what it is, I'm just realising that cosy fantasy books aren't really my vibe. I found that I was constantly waiting for something to happen instead of just enjoying the story of the town.
