Daisy Murray was our best friend, the girl of our dreams, and the glue that held us all together.
But our town hosted an evil presence and it wanted Daisy all for itself.
One night, it took her from us and she was erased from history.
On the tenth anniversary of her disappearance, we are summoned home, back to the tainted town, by the ghost of the girl we all loved. It should be impossible, but there’s no chance any of us are willing to miss the opportunity to see her again.
The screams of terror. The blood. The heartache…
The girl we knew is gone but the woman who’s taken her place is a bloody thirsty, vengeance-fueled goddess who brings the four of us to our knees. We failed her once, but this time failing is not an option. Together, we’ll burn the town of Briar Glen to the ground and if that sends us to Hell…
Then the Devil better roll out the red carpet.
This is a standalone story contains dark themes not suitable for all readers which is why only adults 18+ should proceed. T-W’s (Please check content note inside) This story is MFMMM 1st Person, Multiple POVs Friends-to-L0vers Possessive/Obsessive MMCs Second Chance Romance Small Town Romance Psycho FMC Masked Men
This is the Mindfck series but three times darker, a thousand times spicier, with a sacrificing cult and four hot guys just as blood thirsty as our main girl. I don’t read dark romance as much anymore but every time I read one it’s like a shock to my system and gets me out of whatever reading funk I’m in. This one had an interesting plot, great characters, very spicy, and an FMC you can’t help but root for at she murders an entire town.
There were a lot of comments about how small she was if that’s something you can’t stand in a book. Although they never romanticized it. It was more so to emphasize how much she was struggling mentally. She went through a lot in the ten years since she disappeared and never found a healthy way to cope with it. Her guys also have darker ways that they cope with their issues but they fit perfectly with her. Each having a different kind of twisted but she embraces them all. I don’t usually compare books so often in reviews but their dynamic and how each guy has their own kink that the FMC appeared to, reminded me of the Four Horsemen series by Sarah Bailey. Except instead of bullying like in that one, these guys worship her from the beginning. Even though I would consider this instalove, it still took them a bit to figure out how they fit together.
It was pretty dark. Definitely pushed me borderline to the uncomfy zone. The murder and gore didn’t bother me but some of their sexual acts were really dark so make sure to check trigger warnings. There was a lot of interesting spice. You definitely don’t have to be worried about any boring smut in here. The entire book as so entertaining, I wasn’t bored for a second. I barely put this book down until it was finished. A very fun dark romance for sure!
What would you do if you found out the town you lived in was primarily full of Cult Members? What about if you found out your parents were not only a part of it but Head Members? Oh, and you overhear a conversation about the girl you and your friends are best friends with us potentially going to be used during some sort of ceremony. Let me tell you this book had so many twists and turns, that I was rooting for each and ever outcome that happened ten years later.
The men in this book all have their own ways that they dealt with the incident in the woods 10 years ago and boy did some of them develop some twisted kinks and outlets for their feelings. I wish I could say I was disturbed by the things I read, but I can't. But I will warn you there are certain activities that are done that will be triggering for some and gut turning for others.
M.T. did an amazing job of creating the characters and the world this story took place. I'm a visual reader and I could visualize the story happening in my head as I read it. There's love, betrayal, spicy times, some questionable others primal, but either way a must read if you enjoy revenge, cult settings, and slbooks about reconnecting with childhood friends turned more!
Definitely read those trigger and content warnings because there are so many disturbing events in this book, including but not limited to, unaliving, abuse (of all kinds), primal acts, brutal revenge, self harm, and so much more. But if you're like me and use warnings as a way to find the perfect book, this is a must read!!!
If you were to combine The Mindfuck Series with the Devil’s Night Series, but make it a Why Choose romance with occult themes, you would essentially get this masterpiece.
The story starts out following a group of best friends, one girl and four guys, who are all about 14 years old. The girl, Daisy, is kidnapped and killed by a violent cult, which is covered up by the town’s powerful cult leaders. Years later, when everyone but her four friends have forgotten her and moved on, the guys start receiving letters from her. Her letters tell them that she’s back, she’s ready for revenge, and asks them to join her while she paints the town red. And they’re like, fuck yeah. Let’s kill everyone who hurt you. Just tell us what to do.
This is one of the coolest premises I’ve ever read. I was sucked into the story immediately. It’s addicting, dark, creepy, and sexy.
And it’s so intriguing to learn about each main character’s back story, and about each cult member and Daisy’s plans for them. It kind of gives you that Dexter vibe that you also get with the Mindfuck series or Butcher and Blackbird. But it has four hot guys that are ridiculously obsessed with the FMC and are just a bloodthirsty as she is. And they’re all just a little bit fucked up in their own way.
I thought it was flawless. Out of the 70+ books I’ve read so far this year, this is one of my absolute favorites.
However, I’d only recommend it to people who typically read dark romance. There are some erotic horror elements to it. So make sure you’re comfortable with dark romance and that you’ve read the TW page before starting it.
“Lead the way, Daisy. Wherever you go, we'll follow.”
Summon Us plunges readers into a twisted tale of revenge, trauma, and the unbreakable bonds of found family. Daisy Murray, once the heart of her close-knit group, returns to the ominous town of Briar Glen after a decade, seeking retribution for the horrors she endured. Reuniting with her childhood friends: Kingston, Drake, Wyatt, and Owen. The story unfolds as they confront the malevolent forces that tore them apart.
The narrative doesn't shy away from exploring heavy themes. Daisy's journey from victim to avenger is both harrowing and empowering, offering a raw depiction of resilience in the face of unspeakable trauma. The book delves deep into the psychological scars left by abuse and betrayal. Daisy's internal struggles, flashbacks, and moments of vulnerability are portrayed with a stark honesty that resonates.
Each of Daisy's companions brings a unique flavor to the story: Kingston is the silent protector, whose muteness adds a layer of depth to his character. Drake is the brooding enforcer, embodying strength and loyalty. Wyatt is the light-hearted jester, providing moments of levity amidst the darkness. And Owen is the tech-savvy strategist, whose intellect is pivotal to their plans. Their interactions with Daisy are charged with emotion, history, and a shared desire for justice. However, the depth of connection between all of them varies. While Daisy's relationships with Kingston and Drake are richly developed, Owen and Wyatt sometimes feel underexplored, serving more as plot devices than fully fleshed-out characters.
While the story is compelling, the prose occasionally falters. The narrative's momentum is inconsistent. Some sequences, especially those detailing Daisy's elaborate revenge schemes, stretch believability, given her prolonged isolation and psychological state. Additionally, the story's climax feels rushed, leaving certain plot threads unresolved.
Finally, Summon Us is a daring foray into the darker facets of human experience, blending elements of horror, romance, and psychological thriller. While its ambition is commendable, the execution occasionally stumbles, hindering its full potential. For readers drawn to intense, character-driven narratives that don't shy away from grim realities, this book offers a gripping, if imperfect, journey.

4.5 STARS Please check your trigger warnings, this one is DARK.
Daisy Murray and her 4 best friends thought nothing would take them from each other, but an evil in their small town had different plans for them. Daisy was wiped from their lives, from the world. No record of her exists anymore and everyone has tried to convince these 4 boys that she was never real. 10 years later, they each get a letter. Daisy is back and she is summoning them back to their hometown to take down the sick people that thought they could do whatever they wanted to her and others with no repercussions. She's going to burn this town to the ground, and they're going to help her.
If you're looking for a book that has Mindf*ck series vibes, a vengeful FMC on the warpath, and a Why Choose with 4 men who would do anything for the her, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU. Daisy was such an unhinged FMC and I was rooting for her the entire time. She deserved every bit of revenge she brought on those people. Don't even get me started on her men. They're all a little messed up in their own ways, but it works in this dynamic SO well. I'm so glad I read this book and it definitely deserves more hype.
Summon Us was a great cult like book with an even better FMC who had a psychotic nature with her demons!! I loved the action, the angst, the retribution, and the ending!!
...
It's a funnier, shorter, less detailed, polyamorous, and spicy version of "The Mindf*ck Series."
I liked it. It could've been better, but the characters were well-written and the plot was interesting. I would have liked more detailed descriptions of the plans and situations. I thought it could have been developed further given how banal some important scenes were.
I absolutely loved this book! The drama, the love between the 5 friends, and the killing has just made this book unique. This is definitely worth the read. Do be aware of triggers. Some aren't okay with certain things, but it didn't bother me. I loved the plot this had. MT, you are amazing!
I’m not sure what about this book really made me not like it. I feel like the whole thing was just flat, the things that were meant to bring excitement just didn’t live up. I liked the idea of the story but just felt like it was a little boring.
DNF 38% This is a reverse harem with a messed up revenge story that doesn't pull its punches be aware that the death blood and violence here was extreme so check your triggers. Daisy, Kingston, Drake, Wyatt and Owen all grew up together as best friends in the small town of Briar Glen. On the eve of Daisy's fifteenth birthday, the town's secret cult attempted to sacrifice Daisy to their god. Things didn't go exactly to plan and Daisy was lost presumed dead. The town erased her existence and the boys were ripped apart their friendships shattered. It's ten years later and Daisy is back determined to paint the town red with her revenge. Along for the ride are her four former best friends, who also want their pound of flesh just as much as Daisy does. Each is a shadow of their former self as is Daisy and they are all now eager to jump to Daisy's tune.
I liked the premise of this book; it was right up my street. Unfortunately, the execution just wasn't that good. I adore a good messed up scenario and a revenge story arc but here I struggled to connect. The darkness was way up there and Daisy's men were all in but there just wasn't any real heart here. In a nutshell, this lacked substance and it's also extremely insta-love. I don't know how to explain it better but I was basically apathetic and frankly a bit bored and uninterested and I really shouldn't have been.
If you're going to read this a heads up the kink here is extreme I didn't get to that part but I've seen other reviews mention necrophilia so you've been pre-warned.
This is one of those stories that feels like a tv series so you never want it to end because then you feel lost without the thing that took up an hour of your life once a week. But it’s only a book and no matter how much I stretched it out it was to good to put down and it eventually ends and I already miss my psycho friends. This was so disturbing and dark and gruesome in good and bad ways. Bad in all the horrific things our MCs had to endure. Good is that it feeds our dark twisted romance loving hearts. I don’t feel like this story was missing anything I just feel like I would be totally fine if it had been stretched into a 3 or four book series starting with them in high school. This was just so good but like I just can’t get over the devastation of it being over 😩😖. The pacing was really good. The harem was well built but Owen definitely could have used a little more time and connection, even with him being timid and squeamish, I wanted more between them. King and Drake OH MY GOD I loved them so much. Wyatt is just all the crazy golden retriever feels. I think the one thing I personally would have enjoyed, is for it to have leaned a little more paranormal and I also would have enjoyed more offerings to a certain demoness. *insert evil laugh*What can I say this one had my crazy peeking out a little.
I feel like I need to wash my eyeballs in holy water. I think I’ve found my dark romance limit, granted I blew right past the trigger/content warnings after reading them thinking none of them would bother me, so that is fully on me. The plot was promising and entertaining enough that I pushed through, but damn there were so many fucked up things in this book
A dark, twisted, wonderful story of absolute revenge. Before I dove in, I actually worried I’d find my very first trigger in here - instead, I came out the other side delighted and more depraved than before. That said, read the trigger warnings thoroughly, mental health is important. I don’t want to spoil anything, so, suffice to say, this is no fairy tale. This is fast, bloody, and a little sick (but in all the best ways). These characters are like no others - they’ve suffered, they’ve coped, they’ve survived, but they’ve come out twisted and broken. Murderers, psychopaths, freaks. Together, they’re perfect and complement each other in a way only true love can.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I know in that moment, I would die for this woman. I’d carve up bodies, pluck out eyeballs, go to jail, hell, I’d do anything for her. I’m so fucking in love with Daisy Murray that my heart can’t seem to stop ballooning as I stare at her.
If you read The Mindf*ck Series (ST Abby) and wished it was a RH, this book is for you! There’s an unhinged FMC coming back for revenge against the town that tried to sacrifice her and the men who embrace her bloody revenge campaign and turn out to be just as unhinged as her. I loved watching the world burn around them.
I loved Daisy and her men – best friends from childhood who were broken by her death and the subsequent erasing of her life. We are given glimpses of the way each dealt with the trauma, how it shaped their adulthood, and how Daisy’s return from the grave filled their cracks and made them whole. They did not balk at her crazy, instead vowing to be anything she needed—her demons to control, her dark knights.
Fast-burn and very spicy with extensive explicit depictions of darker kinks (dubcon, somno, primal, blood, knife, corpse play, etc.). There are MF and group scenes. Lots and lots of group scenes.
There are very dark elements and themes, so I recommend checking the TW/CW if you have any. If you’re like me and have no triggers (or have learned to push through things that make you uncomfortable), jump in blind. It’s an amazing and surprising experience!
This is one of my top reads of the year, and I highly recommend it!

This was really fun. I always love an unhinged and murderous fmc. I enjoyed the guys, though their personalities all blended together a bit. I sometimes forgot whose pov I was reading. I read a lot of dark and messed up books so nothing really phases me anymore, however….I think I found my limit with one of the scenes in this book. I had to pause for a second after it. I generally don’t go into these books expecting them to be realistic and this is no exception. The plot doesn’t really make any sense but I was more so in it for the journey. This was a turn your brain off kind of story. Very spicy and messed up. Check your triggers with this one for sure!
Oh this book was entirely too long! But it had so much potential. If you’ve ever read the Mind Fu*k series then think that but add in a RH, it could have been so good! But the issue here & believe me, there were alot of them was this book was just not executed well. I contemplated DNF’ing the book multiple times and TBH I wish I had.
First issue was the Audible, the female narrator took a breath in every time she said a sentence and it happened so often that my ears hurt.
When the book first started and they mentioned them being 15 I’m like oh no 😟 what in the YA did I just stumble into & I almost DNF’d it there, but I gave it 2 more chapters only to realize that there was a 10 year time jump. Now I CANNOT STAND big time jumps & 10+ years by chapter 5 pissed me all the way off. I think if the book would have started in the present & then they explained the backstory through the past then that would have made way more sense. The pacing felt really off.
There was ZERO character growth or development with the main characters. I honestly couldn’t distinguish one guy from another. They were all clinging on for dear life to the memories that they had when they were kids. There was not a single ounce of chemistry to be seen except for maybe between Daisy & Kingston. TBH this would have been a way better story about them as the main couple & their childhood friends helping them out because the other men felt like side pieces in the relationship.
I also felt like there was so much nonsense added to this book just for shock value and it either didn’t make sense or was totally cringeworthy. So many of the scenes didn’t make sense at all or there was no prior conversation had which made them uncomfortable. Daisy had massive amounts of trauma but yet they put her in situations constantly that didn’t make any sense and even her internal monologue has you wondering if even she’s okay with what’s happening. It makes reading scenes like that really cringe. I’m all for pushing the boundaries with Dark Romance but this pushed it in a icky way, when there’s no prior conversations, no relationship building and someone’s mental health is at an all time low it’s not enjoyable, it’s concerning. And that’s that how I felt the entire book, concerned 🤷🏻♀️
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I'm sure that there is a lot people can and will say about this book. They will probably talk about how dark the guys are, maybe even how hot they are.
They may also discuss the female protagonist, who is in fact a bad ass. She has waited years to enact revenge.
But what I want to talk about is how this second chance dark romance has affected me. I am pretty new to the dark romance genre, and I don't even know if I like it a lot or not. Half the time, I am full of trepidation.
I spent a great deal of time flailing about what I was reading. Maybe even clutching my imaginary pearls. This book was an experience. Sure it was hot, but the revenge was definitely well earned. I also think that it is definitely over the top.
My advice to anyone who goes in to this is to be certain that you read the content warnings at the front very carefully. I read them, but I obviously missed one. There are some pretty gruesome things that happened in this book that are frankly beyond the pale.
I would absolutely read more Revenge books, though. But I think that you definitely need to know what you are getting into before deciding to take this plunge. Even if you are an aficionado of the dark romance subgenre. Read at your own risk!
The audio is narrated in dual by Amanda Dumas, Jameson Adams, Ace Bentley, Scott Rose and Tor Thom It would have been perfect if it was a duet :)
Tropes Why choose FMMMM Traumatized MCs Mute MMC Cult Revenge
Let me get this straight: WTF did I just read?!? That was not what I expected and it was good. It is as unhinged as “Don’t stop” by Lauren Biel, mixed with really disturbing subjects as in “Hunting Adaline” by H. D. Carlton AND a revenge story like “The Mindf*ck series” by STAbby. This is a REALLY dark reverse harem with a serial unaliver FMC, a cult, very disturbed MMCs and unhinged side characters. This is not for everyone. Please check the trigger warnings below.
Content Warnings Body horror, Child abuse, Car accident, Death, Emotional abuse, Gore, Gun violence, Infertility, Mental illness, Miscarriage, Pedophilia, Physical abuse, Sexual assault, Sexual violence, Suicidal thoughts, Torture, Violence, Blood, Kidnapping, Murder, Schizophrenia/Psychosis , Gaslighting, and Injury/Injury detail. And also (yes there’s more): Necrophilia and Somnophilia.
This is a hard review to leave without dropping spoilers. Daisy, Wyatt, Kingston, Drake, and Owen are best friends and have been since they were much younger. You realize that their whole group centers around Daisy and that she really is the glue keeping them together. Kingston hears his Dad talking about something involving Daisy. The boys go out to see what's going on and hear her screaming. The majority of this story is what happens 10 years later when Daisy finally comes home seeking the revenge she's owed. She send a letter to each guy giving them the opportunity to help her or stay out of her way. But none of them can resist the call of the girl they all still love. You should absolutely read those TWs if you are a person that needs them. This town is run by a cult and there are a lot of dark moments. Daisy and Kingston’s stories while they're separated will rip your heart out only to put it back together piece by piece when they are finally reunited. The loyalty and devotion they all have to Daisy was my favorite part of reading this book. She comes back with a plan to make the whole town bleed for what they did to her and none of these bat an eye. Her Demons have been summoned and they will do anything to help her get the revenge she desires on the town that split them apart. Definitely worth adding to the TBR 🖤🤪☠️🥰📚🥃
Summon Us by MT Addams is a small town second chance dark romance.
This is the second book of MT Addams that I have read, and it definitely won't be my last. I was pulled in from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Daisy, Kingston, Wyatt, Drake, and Owen. I loved that we got all of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I would recommend this book if you're looking for a dark romance, friends to lovers romance, why choose romance, romantic suspense, or second chance romance.
WHY IS THIS BOOK NOT TALKED ABOUT MORE. This book was SO GOOD.
Quick synopsis: -girl has friends -girl and friends live in small town -girl ends up the chosen one to be sacrificed by cult townspeople to their god -friends save girl -girl ends up going over cliff into river -girl survives fall (unbeknownst to anyone) -girl endures more trauma -girl comes back for revenge 10 years later, gets the friends back together, and they FUCK SHIT UP.
It’s spicy, it’s hot, it’s gory, it’s weird (I’m looking at you Wyatt), it’s literally so good. Please know this book is DARK. It’s bloody and kinky and some of the kinks are REALLY DARK. Mind your triggers.
I don't even know where to begin with this review! 😆
Normally, I end my reviews with a reminder to check your triggers, but I am going to preface with it this time. The triggers in this book are NO JOKE! So please take them seriously!
Daisy has been wiped away from all existence, but her close friend circle knew something was seriously wrong with the entire situation. But those 4 men were never given any kind of hope to believe what they knew deep in their hearts and souls. Each and every one of our characters has gone through h€ll and back.
This story will bring out so many crazed emotions. You'll second guess your sanity. You'll love. You'll hate. You'll want to throw up. Literally, you feel everything over here.
I absolutely LOVE Daisy and how strong this bad@$$ of a woman is. To be able to go through everything she has and survive PLUS come out stronger is not anything for the weak of heart!
And my heart fell head over heels for King. I mean don't get me wrong, each of these men bring something to the table, but King has my heart.
Alsooooo....4 men! I'll let your imagination run wild with that one 😘 it's intense and 🔥
@mtaddamsauthor thank you again for having me on your team and writing another incredible masterpiece! Your books have taken me out of my comfort zone and I LOVE it!! 🖤
Boy, what a ride. If anyone deserves revenge in fiction land it’s Daisy. What she went through THAT night was bad enough, but then more years of absolute trauma and pain. Briar Glen is a town that urgently needed a tornado to go through and raze it to the ground. See how their beloved Zarzuz would help them then. I’m glad Daisy had her team of “demons” with her, but they were pretty insane/psychotic. Definitely into some weird schminks. Did I enjoy this book? Oddly, I did. Is it messed up and had me questioning what kind of mind the author has to come up with some of these things, yes it is. However, MT Addams does such a great job in the first chapter introducing Daisy that I was fully invested in her destroying whoever she wanted. My heart sorta broke for those five kids.
The funny moments in this book were funny, and the smut was smutty. But was it a good book? Ehhh. Also idk if anyone else feels this way, but I am so over child sex trafficking being a plot for most dark romance books. Like I mean I like that what the characters are doing is for a good cause (eliminating the bad ppl) but like every dark romance doesn't have to have this in it. I mean I love representation as much as the next person. Especially when the main character went through something and their partner(s) help them through the healing phase but I feel like we didn't get much of that idk. I mean if it was briefly mentioned that she was abused in that way I wouldn't have minded but having to skim multiple pages of triggering content is getting old.
