This is a compilation of three "slice of life" short stories set in the Kordolian Universe. They feature characters from previous books and are for existing readers of the series.
The stories are also individually published. If you would like just one or two of them, find them in my Author profile on Amazon.
Stories
1. Duality Abbey & Tarak. 7600 words. A little conversation and spice.
2. The Little Things Riana & Kail. 11300 words. Shopping and hijinks, and of course, some heat.
3. Lucid Harmony Ash & Noa. 14000 words. Ash trying to observe human customs. Sweetness and a little steam.
**MINOR SPOILERS** This series of short stories are part of a plethora of books, novellas, and at least two spin off series related to Dark Planet Warriors. I do not recommend it as a standalone. It features characters that appear in earlier books, and the stories involve snippets of their lives together. This collection is best read between books 7 & 8 in the Dark Star Mercenaries series. Duality This short story reveals how Abbey and Tarak open up to each other. Abbey cares for Tarak in a way that no one else does. He treats her with love and care. He shares some of his history with her, telling her how his spaceship came to be called Silence. The story is told from Abbey’s point of view. The Little Things Raina wants a collectible figurine and goes to a shopping center to get one. Kail goes with her for protection. They run into an unexpected shortage, and they act. There is a dangling thread about that. Kail impulsively buys Raina a gift. They make a huge decision. Kail is very open and sweet with Raina and she with him. The story was a quick snippet about their life together with part from both points of view. Lucid Harmony Noa’s birthday is coming up and Ash wants to buy her a birthday gift. She asks for a piano and he is determined to get her one. I did not like a couple of things about this short story. One was that Ash intimidated and commanded the person who was selling the piano. I thought that was unnecessary. Second, the person selling the piano was someone that Noa knew slightly. She was not sure if Caily would want to see her again. I thought this question could have been resolved one way or another. On a side note: in other stories, the Kordolians mention that they will watch over the families of their mates. Noa has a brother, and the story does not say whether or not he has protection; though it was nice to hear that they were in communication. Small nitpick: at the end of Infinity’s Embrace, Noa and Ashrael’s larger story, the author writes that Noa has a beautiful old piano at her apartment. I am not sure why she needed another, unless it was to have it on Silence, the Kordolian spaceship. I think it would be nice for the author to include a reference list in the books. Included could be the names of the different male and female main characters, planets mentioned, aliens mentioned, and maybe a few word translations (siv, etc) that the Kordolians use. I plan to continue reading the series.
Oh !!!! This book was such a treat, wheting my appetite for MORE !!!! This book has stories of Abbey, Tarak, Kail and Rihanna, and Noa and Ash. Each story gives a a further glimpse into their world, and left me breathless for MORE !!Can't wait for the next little slice if life from this magnificent series !!!
These three short stories are perfect for when you need a little Kordolian fix. In my opinion Anna Carven saved the best for last with Lucid Harmony. Ash and Noa are some of her most fascinating characters and their slice of life was extreamly enjoyable to read. There is also an absolutely hilarious scene with Tarak and some Jerk Chicken. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My favourite was probably Ash and Noa's novella, but I love the others too. I have a feeling Caity will have her own Kordolian (I hope!). I'm very much liking her. Each novella brought me a sense of nostalgia of their happy endings and made me tear up, especially Noa's. Looking forward to the next book.
Getting to visit with 3 fav couples was fun. Having the 3 stories interlock was great. But Noa & Ash... oh, I loved this one. His gift to her... Read this for the love of our "Good" Kordolians. ❤️
I love every book written from this author, I enjoy even more the story of little Amie. I hope to read about the twins soon as well. This book is an experience I recommend everyone to try. Start with the series.! 😍😍😍📱
1.5 ⭐ Well, I do like "slices of life" stories. I also did like some parts in these, but they weren't overwhelmingly good... Tarak eating spicy food was a fun moment. That they all spend time together was a nice thing. Some cozy moments between the mates was nice. But that's that... 🥱🤷♀️
