The Rake’e Lost Soul
A wounded bachelor - or, dare I say damoiseau - left for dead saved by an intrepid damsel. Throw in some evil characters, mystery, and romance. Voila! A novel that has everything a reader could want. The characters are artfully created, and the plot has twists and turns that hold us in captivity. Another gem from the “pen” of Lisa Campell.
When a Duchess Sins
Lisa Campell uses a unique lens to create an insightful look at the Regency era, complete with deluxe London townhouses, lavish balls, and a Ton that breathes down the throats of young ladies who might dare to find a little romance before being tied down to old, domineering husbands. But what happens when Isabel, a dowager duchess, emerges from a cold, lonely, loveless life and tries to find her old self among the ashes of her horrid marriage? The tatter rags accost her for denigrating her late husband’s name and dukedom by merely talking to Anthony, an old friend, over dinner. And Anthony is equally slandered for endangering the reputation of said dowager duchess.
Families of the two rant and rave, demanding they leave off seeing one another. But there still remains an avenue for discovering if their friendship might turn into something tangible and sustainable - something that they once had and cherished. Letters will be the conduit. Thus the two move forward, trying to find a way to forgive themselves and each other.
After a colossal web of deceipt perpetuated by Anthony’s brother and Isabel’s sister, they are finally wed with a real chance for Happiness, his new name for her.
I love how Campell artfully inserts meaningful poetry and prose into the storyline, for it enhances the reading experience. This is another beautifully written, fast paced addition to her growing catalogue, and I highly recommend it to fans of this genre.

The lilting, elegant language of this novel, including Lord Byron’s poetry, struck me from the beginning. Lisa Campell creates a perfect pairing of Beauty and the Beast and Pride and Prejudice in this beautiful love story of two strangers struggling to find their way in a very proper world of the ton in Regency England. The tension between the two protagonists is enhanced by the secondary characters who play a large part in their ultimate understanding of each other. With a fast-paced plot, intriguing familial surprises, and artfully craftfed intimate moments, this novel had me captivated from beginning to end. I recommend it highly to lovers of this genre and romance in general.

Three wonders!
Three stories, all very different! The first is enjoyable, Olivia courting Baron, but she learns he got four other ladies he’s also courting! The-second story of the silent Duke and when he sees Helena at a ball, sends a letter to her father asking for her hand. His best friend Antony tries to help him! And the third book continues with the story of Antony and his love of Isabella now widow! Very good read!

One great collection!
A wonderful boxset! As a fan of historical romance novels, I was excited to read this trio of excellent novels. The characters drew me in from the beginning and kept me reading well into the night.

Three different and unusual Regencies that are well written and complex. Anyone who likes the genre will enjoy them. Each has been published separately and has been reviewed on its own merits. Thanks to the author and publisher for an e-galley for an honest review.
