This book will tug at your heartstrings and have you filled with so many emotions. Get ready for this harrowing rollercoaster ride in the first installment of Hide Your Kids…
If you've ever been molested and physically abused. This book will definitely trigger you. What happened to Jeremy is a prime example why women shouldn't bring strange men around their child/children and definitely don't leave them alone with a man they don't know. Althea should've saw the changes in her son Jeremy earlier on. He became withdrawn, started acting up in school, his grade's dropped tremendously. There were too many sign's for her to ignore and not realize that something was going on. Jeremy was no longer the respectable, happy, and rambunctious child he once was. Tyler took advantage of ten year old Jeremy. Took his innocence away Which would later affect Jeremy. Althea should've gotten Jeremy some counseling. Everything her sister Yaya was trying to tell Althea was the truth and she didn't want to hear it. Now Jeremy has grown into a damn monster. I know Althea knew Jeremy was behind what happened to that little girl Lacey. Jeremy has turned into another Tyler or worst. The moment he started putting his hands on his own mother. Althea should've had Jeremy locked up. I understand his anger towards his mother but he has taken thing's entirely too far. Especially now since he's grown, still don't respect her and continuing to abuse her. Yaya should've taken the chance and told on Jeremy. I don't give a damn how Althea would've felt. Althea is steady allowing her guilt for not protecting her son and using that as an excuse for Jeremy putting his hands on her. Shavon have no clue of the monster she brought into her life. Jeremy is a wolf in sheep clothing who's hiding a deadly secret and a sick obsession. The way this ended. I have a feeling Lacey mother suspect Jeremy for what happened to her daughter or she has gotten a weird vibe from him.
One thing that you can count on with Lady Lissa is that she is always going to tackle real life issues that some authors can’t handle. In this well written book, she took on quite a few issues: pornography, sexual abuse, rape, physical abuse and murder. Single mothers definitely need to watch who they have around and leave their kids with. Jeremy was abused by his mother’s boyfriend, but how was she supposed to know what was happening to him if he never talked to her? I can’t wait to read book two, now that Jeremy is in the room with the mother, father and aunt of the little girl that he killed. Definitely worth reading.
Jeremy needs help I don’t know why he thinks he don’t need help when he experienced something horrible to him and that other little girl and he turned around and did the same thing to Lacey now that he knows he is dating Lacey auntie I hope her family gets the Justice she needs because Jeremy definitely not going to admit what he did and why he did all he going to continue to do is blame it on Althea as her call her and I hope in part 2 Althea stands up for herself and fight back against this monster cause he needs to be held accountable for his actions before he hurts someone else again
I was captivated from start to finish. Jeremy was really dealt a bad hand by his abuser. I love how Lady Lisss explored the crisis from the mother & aunt. She created a very surreal picture for the reader and gave good insight into the mind of a victim.
Althea did annoy me with not getting her son help, but what Jeremy later goes onto be towards her is no excuse.
Whewwwww, there was soooo much to unpack in this book!!!...Jeremy is definitely in a toilet bowl now!!!...Sharing a space with the parents of the child he violated and unalived too!!!...I don't know if I could be the mother of the child that subjected me to soooo much abuse!!!...I definitely get that he feels hurt for the abuse that was inflicted on him, but to treat his mom like that!!!...I truly her sister finally speaks up because I'm scared for Jeremy's mom!!!...
Lawd this is crazy. I gotta read book 2 asap. Lady Lissa knows how to leave us pulling our hair out lol. I love her books. This is why she is one of the best authors. She never has you waiting long for the next one either. Just enough time where you think you know what's going to happen and then sike lol. This is a great book it might take you some time to read it, due to how real this could be. But please, read this book. You won't regret it. 10 stars
This book was so intriguing from start to finish!! I most definitely wasn't expecting that ending. I wonder how Jeremy will get out of that! Can't wait to read Pt 2! Lady Lissa bee doing her thang when it come to these books! I'm always on the edge of my seat every time!!!
This book have me infuriated!! I hope Jeremy gets the help that he needs before someone hurts him. Poor Shavon doesn’t have a clue who she’s dealing with. I just hope she doesn’t introduce him to her children. I can’t wait to start part 2 to see how this unfolds
This read brings out a lot of emotions! Jeremy needs help! I feel for him, but his mother unfortunately didn’t know, and I’m sure she feels awful for not knowing the situation! I’m sure she’s beaten her own self up with guilt! But Jeremy is dead wrong! That poor little girl!! He should leave Shavon alone, this is an awful situation!!! On to next installment!!
Whew all I can this was crazy. It goes to show you that you have to watch your kids. But this was a great read she always does her thing writing these books. I want more...
I don’t even know where to began. I have so many mixed emotions about this book. I am the mother of a son, my only child. This here just put me in a head space that makes me so uncomfortable… I need part 2 like YESTERDAY… A must read…
Whew.....that Jeremy is a piece of work! This was a good read. I kept me interested from page one! Can't wait for the next part! Know that this Yaya would have gave him these hands!
This boy is beyond words. I can't believe that Jeremy turned into a real life monster and is abusing his mom. Now Shavon is his new boo but you killed her niece. Who would of thought. Now how long do we have to wait to see what happens next?
O.M.G!!!! This book was so good it had a few triggers but, good story line I thought it was going to be one of dude’s killers so this was a surprise.Don’t make us wait to long for part 2
Lissa did it again never doubted she wouldn’t!! There are so many stories like this happening all over the world to touch on it takes strength & courage and a insane mind!! I was not disappointed at all. Cannot wait for book 2…You go girl!!!
I don’t wish bad on no one, but Jeremy needs to get everything wicked coming to him. Althea should’ve gotten him help long time ago. Ain’t no way on this earth I would be treated that way by my own child. I would bury him myself.
A great story as only Lady Lissa can tell it! Oh my gracious, when I tell you if you haven't read a book by her you are definitely sleeping! I highly recommend this book very highly. Oh my word, I am so ready for book 2. Great job Lady Lissa!
I really hope they get him for murdering and raping that lil girl. His sick azz need to be under the jail. I can’t wait to get part 2 because he needs to go to jail also for beating his mom.
Most definitely Hide Your Kids. Jeremy is a sick individual. I don’t like the way he treats his mom and she keep upholding him. Yaya figuring him out and I hope he don’t try anything drastic with her. Shavon don’t know it yet but her boo is a monster in disguise.
Wow !!!!! What can I say …… this is a good book but I hated what Jeremy went through as a child and how he treated his mother. She didn’t deserve that . She should have listened to Yaya and got him some help!!!!
Omg I feel bad for Althea after what her boyfriend did to her son Jeremy but he's taking it out on his mom but thank God her sister is looking out for and that ending can't wait to read part 2
This story truly highlights so many things wrong in our community. Child abuse - physical, emotional, sexual,etc.., parental abuse, the need for counseling, the list continues. I wonder if part two is available.
This will have your emotions on a rollercoaster! Take heed to the trigger warning if you need to. Because I can definitely see where it will trigger some readers. Overall this is a very good book. I'm eager to see where the rest of the series is going to go.
Wow, the bad experience Jeremy endured as a child haunted him all his life. Hated he took all his anger out on his mother for not protecting him, but she was advised to get him help. Their little happy life turned into a nightmare, yet they remained living together. Of course the story ends when Jeremy thinks he's finally found happiness & then his past come back with a vengeance. Ready for part 2 Lady Lissa!
