Photofit dives into the nostalgia and the subtle horrid of growing up and leaving childhood behind. This story is centered around the focus of trauma, not overcoming it which is equally powerful as well. Jago takes the time to shadow the trauma and write about the effects it has on its survivors.
It is a beautiful poetry collection with a dark meaning inside, yet even inside of the darkness, there is still beauty in it. In this collection, Jago talks about the Gap. A wonderful metaphor for the blank emptiness that is felt before and after the trauma, perhaps in the moment where the survivor is not living or dead, but in the Gap. It’s a powerful metaphor that I really enjoyed.
5/5 stars for the wonderful writing, beautiful collection and the courage to tell the story.
