A Tale of Two Cities: The Mormons - Catholics

Rate this book
As a priest with Mormon roots, I have frequently been asked to explain Mormon beliefs. What follows is an effort to answer a need. It is not an attack on Mormonism. I have too much love and respect for the gently and beautiful Mormons in my family to do a thing like that. But I think that Catholics need a point by point comparison between their beliefs and those of the Latter-Day Saints. And so I will try to state the Mormon viewpoint as honestly as possible, using Mormon sources and with apologies for my distortion. When I turn to the Catholic viewpoint. I will speak as a post-Vatican II, Rocky Mountain Catholic in love with his faith with no apologies for that.

It gives a clear comparison between Mormonism and Catholicism. It is a very philosophical book in Christian Apologetics. It is written by a Catholic priest who grew up with a large Mormon family.
BEWARE: The Book claims to be unbiased in the beginning, however it slowly unravels itself and grows to a more and more biased book. It have a small description on a topic upon Mormon belief and pages worth of description upon the same topic upon the Catholic belief.

I actually read this book as a teenager and found it fascinating, having gone to high school in Utah.
