Their estranged father left them more than they bargained for, but these girls make the best of a bad situation and end up winning friends in the town of Little Missouri.

Idk who let me read this series back when i was 9 but now that im rereading it its kinda terrible. Lots of preachy stuff, some more adult themes, lifeless characters, unrealistic plot. Like... you really expect me to believe 4 women with Norwegian heritage from 3 different families really all travelled to the same town of like 20 people, met the loves of their lives, and became Christian while fixing up the moral of the entire town and reforming the townspeople's "wicked ways"? And its not they all travelled at once- oh no- one new one per book. And the NAMES. "Hi, I'm Ruby, this is my sister Opal. Oh look, book 2! A new Norwegian woman- what's your name? Oh, Pearl! How nice! Next book is dedicated to Opal, etc, oh look book 4 introduces yet another Norwegian woman named AMETHYST! How convenient we were all named after gemstones! Pearl isn't a gemstone, but we're going to pretend it is cause it fits the theme of the books!" The random Norwegian phrases in the conversations, the wild drama, etc.... Listen, I've got some Norwegian blood myself and I do not appreciate this. 5 stars for laughs, would not recommend
An outstanding series to enjoy reading and or listening to. I enjoyed 2 free audio books, used a credit for a third, and bought the 4th for less than $5. One hell of a deal in my opinion!! See individual books for their individual reviews! I highly recommend the whole series!
