Also this is a first time reading this author..
I was debating on if i wanted to finish reading this book since it had some tropes i disliked.. but i thought ill push on.. lets start with the bads.. i hated that Horse aka Scotty(H) was a manwhore for 4 years (mentioned not shown thank god) but the only way he got off was thinking of Kenny (h) when he slept around so that made gag.. kenny was celibate during the 4 years... also Horse was the one who took her vcard.. so he was the only man who she slept with.. another bad was how many times scotty said Sweet girl like if i did a shot everytime he said it i would be in the ER.. change up the nicknames or use her name.. the big secret wasn't well big to me.. i understand why she kept it.. but she could so have told them for protection.. have someone proof read or a editor.. just to double check
Now the goods.. i love that when Horse found Kenny it was all about her he didn't want no one but her he had a mission to fix what happened in the past and why she ran away from him without a word or a goodbye..(for a biker he didnt do nothing wrong so score for him) he didn't give any club girl the time of day he already claimed her as his old lady.. Kenny stuck to her guns for awhile lol she avoid and kept Horse at a distance until she confessed to him and her brother why she left and the secret she been Hiding.. the chemistry between our MCs were hawt and i love how they were with one another, also cover of this book is hawttt...good decent pace okay writing and some steamy scenes...
Would i read the rest of the series.. i dont think so.. i really would like to read izzy and maybe her hero Prez Twister??? but lets face it every club brother was talking about getting their dick wet.. every time..

This is is my fifth book by this author, and we’re just not a good fit. I read a few from the Inferno’s Clutch series but they are all novella length, and I found them lacking in depth and feels/drama. So, my friend suggested this book because it is longer, but I had the same issues.
Horse (Scotty) and Kenny had a WONDERFUL week several years prior when she ghosted him for a total illogical reason, but both have been hung up on the other over the years when they are surprised to learn that he is the VP of her bro’s MC club.
My main grump is the same as before. There’s no development. The relationship was insta with no building and little dialogue and the “conflicts” were manipulated rather than logic based. Like…

HOLLY HELL WTF DID I JUST READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I have to say that I effing love MC stories but this one had me laughing and crying and yelling at my kindle because I just wanted Horse and Kenny together again. They were perfect together and they had everything together and I couldn't understand why Kenny left.
As I read I got why she left and I also wanted Horse to go and hunt her down and not give up so easily and he did lord did he. He never stopped loving her and never stopped thinking about her. She was everywhere for him and he thought by relocating his club he would get over her. But that does not happen because Horse moves and sees Kenny in the flesh and is determined not to let her go and he will do anything to get her back no matter what he has to do.
This is a must read one click book by E.C. and I need more!

I wanted to read this book so damn bad. And I wanted a really good MC book. But damn it I wanted it to be edited. I also didn't want to read the same damn sentences to be repeated. I couldn't do it. I really have no idea how so many 5 stars are out there. I have read some horribly edited books, but I COULD MAKE IT OUT! I didn't read the same sentences over and over just to fill in the blanks. I couldn't do it more than two chapters. I hope E.C. gets an editor and redoes this book. I would have really liked to have enjoyed it.

There were so Many repetitive thoughts from MCs it was redundant. I guess if you repeat the same thing over and over it drags the story out. I skimmed alot.

Mini-Review: My main reason for the one star was the editing was atrocious, the writing wasn't great either. I've read better stuff on Wattpad. This read like a Wattpad fic written by an angsty 15 year old who doesn't have a lot of world experience. It came off very immature and even the smut scenes didn't save it, I've read better smut. I'm going to continue with the series as I'm hoping it gets better and I am curious about the future of some of the characters.

Kenny thought she had met the one but when she got threatened by a biker gang who would use her against her brother, she ran. Four years later she sees Scotty again, but she had no clue he was part of her brothers MC. Scotty goes by Horse in his MC and he wants answers from Scotty. He never forgot her and has plans for a happily ever after with her. Now he has to find out why she ran and convince her she is not going anywhere but by his side.
This was a page turner for me. Liked this story quite a bit. A bit heavy with the sweetbutts and the interactions but if you push that aside a really good story. Kenny is a handful and a perfect match for Scotty. Anxious to read what book is next in the series.

hmmm 🤔... didn't really enjoy this. The writing wasn't that great and I couldn't connect to the characters chemistry because it just felt shallow. I'm also seeing a pattern in the comments with this author's stories with the h staying celibate. I don't mind a celibate h, but in a trashy MC book it doesn't really go together. MC men are all manwhores in most of the MC books I've read. So having the h be celibate while the H is having threesomes and whatnot in the four year's they didn't see each other was a letdown. Also, from the descriptions of the female side characters they all sound like sluts. Not sorry. To read how Rage described having sex with Lyndsey in front of everyone. Telling them her taking it up the ass was the only way to settle her down was just trashy considering she has the next book I believe. I already don't like her. All the FMCs are promiscuous and always talking about getting laid. Well except for Kenny the h in this book, but beyond that? 🙄 I HATE that in my MC books. Double standards maybe, but I don't care. Yikes! Not sure this series is worth continuing.

Loved this first book in the series. I can't wait to read book 2. It has everything I want out of an MC read. I loved Kenny's character and Horse is perfect for her.

DNF @ Chapter 15
I just...I knew what I was getting into when I picked this up to read. Trashy biker book that isn't great but enough to entertain with its special brand of dumb, right? Sheesh but this book was terrible. Okay maybe not the worst thing I've read (let's be real here 😂) but the author liked to abuse words. I mean what Alpha biker will word vomit a super long paragraph at their woman? It was like okay sure sure annnnddd this dude keeps going on about "oh and I'm gonna do this baby and then after that we're gonna talk and don't think I forgot about that thing four years ago and I'm gonna spank your sweet ass" or some such nonsense. JFC just shut up dude. Even the chick was going on and on and repeating the same dumb stuff he just said to her! And then the drama between them about her running away WAS LITERALLY SO DUMB and made no sense. She was just DUMB. I didn't like anyone in this book. Period. Doubt I'll continue with the series.

a bit disappointing **SPOILERS**
This book was weird. There were more things that I disliked than things I did like.
-there wasn't ANY chemistry between Horse and Kenny. Literally the only thing either of them ever said of the other were how hot they were and how fantastic the sex was.
-in 4 years she NEVER talked to her brother about why she left?! It's not like they weren't very close before she left. They were the only family they had left.
-the dialogue was TERRIBLE. (98% of this book were inner thoughts and when something was said it was ALWAYS the same "sweet girl I love you so much, I'll always protect you" blah blah blah.
-the "conflict" was barely mentioned and I honestly forgot about it most of the book.
-the insta-love was not believable either. They get married TWO days after seeing each other again after FOUR YEARS apart. That wouldn't be so bad, except when they parted 4 years ago they only knew each other a WEEK.
-none of the characters had any personality that I could enjoy

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. This is the first book by this author and I was sucked in from the start and couldn’t stop turning the pages. MC’s have recently become one of my favorite reads. Horse lost the love of his life, and when she reappears he’s not about to let her go again without a trace. He will do whatever it takes to keep her. Horse and Kenny have a history and when she left he was devastated, tried to move on but nothing worked, he saw her everywhere. She’s sexy, sassy spitfire and their chemistry is explosive. This book has it all, passion, lust, it’s sexy and a second chance for Horse and Kenny. This was a great read and I highly recommend it.

I was freaking hooked with this book and I can't wait until the next book comes out because I'm so ready for it now. Awesome job on your debut book E.C. Land.

Warning: some language and spoilers ahead. I will try to hide all of the spoilers but view this at your own risk.
People often review books saying, "I don't see how anyone could rate this five stars." I always just brush it off because everyone has different tastes. However, this is the first book that I legitimately don't see how people rated this five stars. I almost DNFd this book on three different occasions. The story is fine. It combines two pretty common MC storylines.
I don't mind the cheesy, overused tropes, because I'm actually a sucker for them. I will, however, list some of the things I hated...
- The grammar was atrocious. I don't think there was a proofread done on this book.
- The explanations and "voice" of this book were stilted and didn't sound natural at all.
- Horse called Kenny "sweet girl" every two seconds.
- When one of the "club wh*res" started talking down to Kenny, she started screaming at her about her "used up snatch" and other awful things. I get that you need to defend your territory, but don't call sex workers useless because they're trying to make a living out here.
- I know most MC men are portrayed as horndogs, but I grew up surrounded by the bikers in my uncle's MC, and they do actually talk about things other than getting their d*cks wet.
- I swear this author binge watched Sons of Anarchy and Coyote Ugly (replace Devil Went Down to Georgia with Copperhead Road) and then wrote this book.
- If I didn't know differently, I would swear up and down that this book was written by a man. While I was reading the smutty parts, All I could think of was the FB tag group "Men Failing at Erotica." It was awful and so cringy.
- There were some really cringy parts where Kenny would draw a line, and Horse would tell her that she's not allowed to have boundaries.

I liked it, but I didn’t like him or the club.
Kenny is the the president of the Mc’s sister and dating Scotty who unbeknown to her is a member of the Mc. When she is attacked and threatened by another Mc she runs away for four years, instead of telling her brother and the man she loves what happened! She tells her best friend that she doesn’t want to tell them as she didn’t want it to cause problems. WHAT??? The-reason that they attacked her in the first place was in revenge against her brothers club! Bizarrely nothing else happened between the two clubs after she left. Really doesn’t make sense that!
So her and Scotty/Horse start dating again, and having endless sex. Yawn. Somewhere between seeing her brother and her ex again to them getting back together, Kenny becomes a weak doormat! She goes from running her own successful business to apologising to Scotty for everything! It’s so weird. I also lost all respect for her. Of course Kenny is suddenly in danger again from the rival Mc. After leaving her alone and not looking for her for four years????
In parts I really enjoyed this book but….. I really hated the way that they talked about women as bit*hes!!! They treat the club girls terribly, putting down their sex techniques and calling them bit*hes all the time. When Horse/Scotty is calling one of Kenny’s bar staff and disrespecting her, when Kenny sticks up for her, Scotty punished her for being disrespectful!!! AAAAY??? I don’t understand!!! I hated her name. Kenny is a man’s name! The sex scenes aren’t written very well at all. Kenny was a virgin when she met Scotty, she hasn’t had sex in four years, Scotty is called Horse because of how big he is. So the first time they have sex after FOUR YEARS, he pounds into her! 😱😱😱 Ouch ouch ouch. That would have been so painful!

When Horse/Scotty is calling one of Kenny’s bar staff and disrespecting her, when Kenny sticks up for her, Scotty punished her for being disrespectful!!! AAAAY??? I don’t understand!!! I hated her name. Kenny is a man’s name! The sex scenes aren’t written very well at all. Kenny was a virgin when she met Scotty, she hasn’t had sex in four years, Scotty is called Horse because of how big he is. So the first time they have sex after FOUR YEARS, he pounds into her! 😱😱😱 Ouch ouch ouch. That would have been so painful!
Parts of the book are really good, and parts see above are terrible. Sorry.

Horse's Bride, Devil's Riot MC Book 1 by E.C. Land
I purchased the audio and ecopy of this book.
I am a GIANT MC reader. I was looking for something to read when a friend recommended this series to me. I had audio credits and grabbed the box set for the first few books. I am a huge audio lover so this made me super excited. I have got to say this narrator was not one I cared for….sorry Ken. I listened to the first 30% of the story and ended up buying the book to read the story. I found the narration for the book was not one I personally cared for. I hope others may enjoy his voice but for me, I will pass on future books of his.
This book has me excited because I love a good 2nd chance and have found a love for best friends sibling. This book hits both genres and I didn’t know it. Horse and Twisted, the President of the club are headed to the new town to see the new club house. Horse soon discovers the “one who got away” or ran away is the woman he was ready to claim. He also discovers this is also his best friend’s sister!! Needless to say, he is concerned with how his president and best friend will feel about this but more important he wants to know why this woman ran from him. He was ready to claim her and wants to know what happened.
Kenny fell hard for Horse and was stunned when he shows up in town with her brother. She has never forgotten him buuuut she is scared to go back down that path after what happened. First loves are hard to forget even when she shouldn’t love him.
The story is fun to meet new MC characters, see the dynamic of the members, the new town, and the new relationship. I loved Kenny. She was so strong and loyal but also afraid to tell her brother what happened to her 5 years ago.
I loved the chemistry between Kenny and Horse. I thought they were so much fun to read. The shower scene when she first saw him again was THE BEST!!!!

So first I want to say this, 2 weeks ago I had been scrolling through Amazon looking for something new to read. Mrs. Lands books popped up in my recommendations. Mrs. Lands at the time was a new to me author. I was more than excited to see she had several series out that had a bunch of books in them.
Thus began my 2 week reading binge of the Devil's Riots series. Though at first I wasn't sure if I was reading in the correct order of series, but I believe I am. Also all the series seem to be interconnected with one another.
***Now Onto My Review of Horses Bride***
I usually don't write a review if I have DNF'd a book. And unfortunately I got about 45% into Horse's Bride and just could Not continue on. So I ended up jumping to the next book to see if this series gets any better.
Obviously this series has gotten better, as mentioned above at the top of this review I have been on a 2 week binge.
Now that being said I'm sorry before reading the rest of the series. But just starting with this one Kenny drove me absolutely Bat Sh*t Nuts. She was just way too whiny for my liking in this book.
Horse was alright. But I think he put up with too much stuff from Kenny.

First question is how did this book get such high ratings? It was so bad. My problem is even if a book is bad if I’m several chapters in I feel like I have to finish it. So finish it I did.
The writing was not good. The way the guys talked about the club girls. The way the talked about the girls that worked at the bar. The way Scotty talked to Kenny. I just couldn’t. And come on at the end with the ultrasound…………🤦🏼♀️
The way the guys constantly talked about “getting their dick wet” was ridiculous. The fact that every story that has a time lapse between the characters the women are always “oh i didn’t sleep with anyone since you? The guys “I banged every chick I could get but always thought of you when i did it” Why are the authors writing the stories like this? Who do they think wants to hear that. These are fantasy books let us have the fantasy of oh she went w/out for 4 years and he did too because they both loved each other so much. But nope the guys always a manwhore and the girl waits.
The spice wasn’t good. The story wasn’t good. The bad guys were even worse. Honestly I’m not sure it deserves 2 ⭐️ but I’ll leave them

Scotty and Kenny
After an accidental meet in the grocery store with conversation over her tattoos, these two get right down to it for over a week. Never telling the other more than what was necessary when a horrific tragedy happens to Kenny which causes her to flee. When Scotty(Horse) and Twister move a couples hours away to start a new Chapter not only does Twister the Prez of the club reunites with his sister Kenny but Horse has longed to find the one that got away. And to make matters even more twisted Kenny is Twister’s baby sister. She has never loved another and neither has Horse but to get back to where they were will take time and he is not giving up now that he has found her once again. Will tragedy find her again and ruin what could be or will everything be safe and fine. Kenny will need to come clean to both men on why she up and left without a moments notice and why she is terrified and has panic attacks. What will come of the Club, Horse and Kenny’s relationship and what about Twister. To find out grab your copy and enjoy the ride.

October 12, 2020DNF. It was “research” anyway. DNF is tough on a person with book OCD, so to not finish, means the stress of not finishing is less than the stress of continuing. I was bored. Biker culture is not really exciting to me.
It’s too basic, simple, and not getting my imagination or intellect involved at all. I sometimes read things that are very light entertainment, and enjoy a light read for a quick pass time, but this seemed like a baby MC romance. Maybe a harlequin-light MC romance. I don’t want to discourage what must be a starting writer. I might just not enjoy the MC culture. I’ve read other MC things that were a bit “sexier” but still, so basic. Macho guys, jealous girls, violence with rival clubs, double standard extreme, tattoos and not much vocabulary 😬.
It almost felt like Zoolander, but switch male model for MCs.

DNF. The H/h meet and have a week of sex and falling in love. Then she just vanishes. Four years later they meet again and he is in her brothers mc. The ott dumb ass reason she leaves, taking nothing with her and telling no one why, is because a rival club member squeezes her breast and nipple. She thinks she is so filthy and that her bro and H will be disgusted. I think I would be more concerned about the rival mc threatening to make me a sex slave. I would be going to my brother for protection. Just leaving and not telling them what happened is giving the other mc time to find her and take her.
I don’t like the h that much. She just so dramatic, debating on taking off again after she tells them why she left the first time. Then the H is so upset cause he wasn’t there for her… she left dude, you couldn’t be there for her. She’s a bitch towards H for no reason. If I read the term sweet girl one more time I will pinch my own tit off. I gave up at 51%. It’s just all to ott for me.

This story does have an HEA if you're wanting like that dark broody a$$hole that you just fell in love with with a bada$$ female main character, this book right here is for you. if you're just wanting a bada$$ motorcycle romance that you can get into that you will fall in love with and want to continue reading and like read almost everything in her series and go for motorcycle Mafia this is the author that I would recommend. I do warn that if you have issues with triggers to double check her trigger warnings because her books do have several triggers. Kenny's and Horses story will gut you and make you happy all at once. I didn't expect to have her brother twister show so much love for her. It was extremely touching Horse and Kenny will see a lot of hardship as they unit and become one. It all starts with four years ago when she ran away to protect her brothers motorcycle club from starting a war however little did she know the man she loves is a part of that same club. start with the prequel Kenny's beginning
