これは初めて日本語の本を読みます.

The author of this book is Yuuki Hino (日野祐希). And I don't know if there is a English translation out for it yet.

I've read it on Kindle and did a ton of lookups using the dictionaries I got from themoeway (this LN was also a recommendation from them). As it was my first time reading and I do love these kinds of stories, I didn't use this book as study material per se. I wanted to familiarize myself first (vertical reading, grammar structures, the peculiar way that stories are told in Japanese, etc.) Now, I feel confident to read and study more throughly while also being able to enjoy the story.

It is a simple cliche story about an outgoing girl (Misaki) who has only a year left to live and she chooses an introverted classmate to be her partner to do all the things she wants to do before she dies. Anyone knows how this type of story goes and how it ends up. But the characters are actually mature and do not fall into the same cliches you would expect on the anime/manga genre, so it felt more realistic in that regard.

Spoilers:

As a side note, I grinned whenever Misaki made a "cute anime girl noise" in the book. It does feel different to read it rather than to watch it. Oh, the pleasures of reading something in its original language!
