It was a nice easy read that I enjoyed on a train ride. It also gave me hope to a late start and I love the easy everyday prayers for guidance that are in the story.
Really enjoyed this story of a woman who, having pushed along through life's challenges. She takes care of everyone and takes on any task her friends and church ask of her. Meeting the new Pastor, a widower with 3 children who is questioning his work as he struggles with his own faith after the death of his wife. His oldest daughter struggles in school with learning disabilities. This touched my heart as my daughter suffers from CAPD (Central Auditory Processing Disorder)along with other learning challenges, but has never let that stand in her way. Our heroine goes through being diagnosed with breast cancer and facing her lifelong dream of working in a foreign country only to discover her heartlies elsewhere. I enjoyed that the daughter's learning disability was not the entire focus of the story and that each character had their own challenges to face.
I read this awhile back and just came across it. Since then, I've stopped buying books with kids in them. The way to grown-up/mature/understanding kid desperate for a parental figure just makes me glad that I can return my youth kids at the end of the night.
This was a great story too. It took me only 3 days to read this. Once I started reading one of Margaret Daley's books I have a hard time putting it down. I recommend this book most definitely.
