The trip home should have been the end of my little adventure.
I was supposed to settle back into my life, work on getting Matty through school, and try like hell to put the memories of the world I barely escaped and my brooding pirate behind me.
Petra had a different ending in mind. That wicked, soul-stealing demon sent something back to the human realm in my magical wake. Something equally vile and damned near as deadly.
Now, the stakes are higher than ever. Torn between two worlds and haunted by what—and who—I left behind, I'm forced to face a chilling the real battle has just begun.
But at least I have one advantage... we're in my world now.

Another Damned Pirate is a dark, action-packed paranormal romance. If you love C.N Crawford, K. F. Breene, Jaymin Eve, Gena Showalter, Patricia Briggs, Shannon Mayer, and Dannika Dark, you’re going to love this exciting and addictive supernatural adventure. Fair This book is the second book of a series, and it ends on a cliffhanger.
Intended for adult (18+) readers only.
Please only pick this story up if you love broody pirate captains, strong heroines, hot and steamy bedroom scenes, and if you have no issues with foul language (Never Darling has a mouth on her). If that sounds like you, then dive in and hold on tight... you’re in for a helluva ride!
Myka loves writing romantic fantasy about tortured characters with big hearts buried under their damage. She’s also awkward AF in real life.
She lives in the Rocky Mountains with her lumberjack-looking husband and their rowdy rescue dogs, loves quoting movies from the 80s and 90s, and she’s a total sucker for the rough-around-the-edges type.
When she isn’t tormenting her characters or dreaming up gut-wrenching plot twists, you can usually find her doing just about anything that gives her a reason to ignore her phone.

3.5 ⭐️’s. This is the second ARC book I’ve read from this author. I absolutely loved the first one to this series but this second one was a little of a let down. The author stated this book would have a lot more smut but it definitely did not. The fighting scenes in the beginning of the book were dragged out and made way too long. Hoping the 3rd book will be a redemption to end the series on a better note.
I thought the previous book had tension but Jesus, the burning desire between hook and Never was very well written. Also the action in this book was kinda cinematic, edge of your seat type of action. Not sure if I would read the 3rd book, I feel like this could have been a duet without the elongated storyline. More of a 3.5 star
This picks up right where the other left off. We learn that Nevers hell hound is in fact Leo’s long lost cousin Lily. The shadow managed to invade her brother’s body, and after a long battle managed to escape and leaves a long trail of bodies while attempting to figure out how to bring Petra into the human realm. Hook winds up getting summoned by Never and eventually gets around to telling her what the pendant really is. Some missteps and one very big show down, with the help of primordial demons, Hook, Leo, Never, and the shadow are back in Nassa except the shadow is now in Never. Calamity ensues, Never technically dies but is resurrected, and they finally trap Petra and her shadow in an eddy where magic is nullified. But surprise, Hook may have done just a little more than bring Never back, he shared his power. Kind of a big oops if the Fate’s words and warnings are anything to go by. And there ends yet another cliff hanger.
Listen I like Hook and Leo and Lily, now that we see more of her. But my god Never is so insanely irritating. Feisty is fine but give it a rest once in awhile please. I understand her breaking form during the attempted exorcism of the shadow from her brother, which subsequently had it jumping into her and helped get it back to Nassa. But it was like one too many times of her absolutely fucking a situation up and making it so much harder that I was just done. This will be my last book of the series simply because she’s so obnoxious with her actions and then compounds that obnoxiousness by complaining about how much trouble finds her/how hard her life is/how unlucky she is. You don’t get to just cause endless trouble by way of stupid decisions and then complain about it 🙄 ugh. Spice was good but not a lot of it, which was a shame.
This book picks up right where it left us in “Another Damned Darling” it was easy to get back in to the world that is Hook + Never however that could also be because I started reading it the same day I finished book#1
I enjoyed the story we had here, the whole demon shadow/petra was all written well, I enjoyed learning more about Lily and Leo.
However Never is slightly getting on my nerves a bit, I can guarantee now matter how quirky, sassy, and mouthy I maybe if I was then plunged in a world with magic and fantasy and I had NO idea about any of it, I don’t think I’d be quite as argumentative as she is. Everything is being made in to a chore, everything is an argument like STFU girl you have NO idea how the island works, how the magic works yet she has to be all big and bulky thinking she can go take on Anya….
Yes Hook is aware of her new found power, so probably isn’t as worried as before about her, but she is just so cock sure off herself “oh I dealt with her before” like girl, behave for 5 minutes. Like yes I don’t expect you to sit in Hooks bedroom, but just loose this attitude.
I felt it a bit shitty that after months apart not only did Never not get to at least hug her brother, but her brother has now got to come down from being possessed, find out his pet dog that has been there all his life is now a full grown woman in his house and now his sister is gone taken over by that same possession….
Like they didn’t even get to hug, say hello, nothing. To me that was a bit meh. Yes the story flowed and Never taking and taunting the demon to her sits right but it just feels a bit meh for all involved.
Having read the second book, we still haven’t found out how the Demon was summoned in the first place so I hope that’s covered.
I enjoyed the story, not as much as the first and there’s a few grammar mistakes, words being missed in sentences etc which I feel shouldn’t be there when this is now a published book.
I would rate this one 3.5 so rounded to 4 however it isn’t as gripping as the first to be honest and I am not as excited to jump straight back to the universe. However I will because I want answers.
.:Phew:. Myka Bound has done it again and delivered another fast paced I can’t put it down book. 𝑨𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑫𝒂𝒎𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝑷𝒊𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆 is the second book of this Peter Pan retelling.
𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆: 𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝟏𝟏𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑
Twisted Peter Pan retelling He falls first Enemies to lovers Tough, snarky heroine Broody/possesive pirate captain Dual POV Spicy
This book begins right where we left off and dives directly into action again. Despite getting back home the threat and danger was far from over for both her and her brother Matty. Never is as stubborn and hardheaded as ever on the path to save him. I liked the found friendships that Never finds, I like that she is learning to trust at least someone but wasn’t too keen on the love triangle simply because it seemed to happen quite quick. I wouldn’t have minded a little bit more development from them but in all honesty the story was rolling pretty fast that there wasn’t quite time for it. So fingers crossed we get more of Leo and Lily because I love their banter and loyalty. As for the possible love triangle, who can really compete with the brooding Atlas Jameson “Hook”. Never and Atlas are like oil and fire who can’t help but ignite each other in the best (and worst) ways possible. With just as much action and twists as the first book, it was hard not to get drawn in and devour the sequel as well. I look forward to the continued trials and turmoil of these two and their merry band trouble that always gets stirred up!
Myka Bound has created a wonderful world and set of characters, with a land of pirates, demons, shifters, witches, and a twisted pixie. Another Damned Pirate picks right up after the cliffhanger of book 1. Never has made it back to her realm with Matty, but she's brought a couple of hitchhikers along for the jump. Never is missing Hook and she is struggling to find peace in her life, in light of everything happening in the human realm. While she's only been away for a few weeks, months have passed in the Nassa realm as Hook desperately calls in every favor he's ever been owed so he can get to Never. Like the first book, the second installment does end on a cliffhanger, but I felt slightly less frustrated with this ending while knowing I had to wait for the third. More spice in this one!
I absolutely adore Hook in every way. He is strong, caring, possessive of Never, sexy as all hell, and radiates "touch her and I'll unalive you" vibes. I won't pretend I don't envision Killian from OUAT as this iteration of Hook! Ah but Never...she is a spitfire with quite a mouth on her, but holy cripes, do I get aggravated with her. Her heart is in the right place most times, but her brain shuts off and it's just one stupid action after another. At one point, Hook even tells her not to do something stupid, and a page or so after, bam, she's done an incredibly stupid thing. I feel like sometimes she's just fueled by rage and revenge and forgets to think things through. Although, that lack is filled by Hook and his need to plan things out, which I appreciate. I don't think I could deal with the FMC and MMC both being careless. I did enjoy seeing Never's personality growth and how she's slowly letting down her guards and letting Hook into her heart. Counting down the days to Another Damned Storm!
🩷🏴☠️I have been impatiently waiting for the this book since I finished “Another Damned Darling” over the Summer, so to say I was so excited when the ARC showed up in my inbox, would be an understatement. The only reason I didn’t start reading sooner is because I just didn’t want it to end. 😩
@mykabound has done it again! I was completely captivated by the world of Captain Hook and Never and all their dirty mouthed, angst and tension.
I was soooo thankful that this book picked up right where it first left off. It made for such a smooth transition after the long *5 months* outside of this magical world. Although, I will say the cliff hanger from the first book was nothing that I imagined it would be! I don’t give spoilers so that’s all I can say about that but the actuality of what happened definitely drew me in and left me unable to put the book down until I reached the end. (THE END!!! Ugh!!!!)
Captain Hook was his usual sexy pirate self, possessive and protective and everything you want a tall, muscular, broody, pirate to be. 🥵 As for Never, I still love her feisty protectiveness of the people she cares about and her brave warrior soul.
There is so much more I want to say, so I will add to my review and you can check it out on Goodreads! If you rather not, than just trust when I say, if you like fantasy/retellings do not to sleep on this series!
This book was such a fun ride full of chaos, humor, and just the right amount of trouble. From the very first chapter, I knew I was in for something a little unhinged. The dynamic between Never and Hook completely stole the spotlight for me. I thought the tension in the first one was sharp, feral, unpredictable, and magnetic in that “I know this is a bad idea but I need to watch it unfold” kind of way but this one turned it up even more! Their energy kept the story pulsing, and every scene they shared felt like a lit fuse.
The world itself is gritty, salty, and wonderfully alive. The humor lands, the danger feels real, and the pacing keeps you on your toes. You’re never quite sure who’s safe, who’s lying, or what ridiculous disaster is going to explode next.
If you love pirates with bite, banter that snaps, found family chaos, and characters who feel like they could stab or save each other at any moment, this is one hell of a voyage. I had a blast reading it and I’d happily join Never, Hook, and the crew for another damned adventure. Can’t wait to read book 3!
I loved the first book, so I was ESTATIC to read the second one! There's nothing better than a badass FMC and a gritty, overly possessive MMC. This book immediately jumps back into where the last book left off; essentially, the book hits the ground running! This book also never slows down. Even when the story gets spicy. The plot isn't split between spicy and storyline. The author paints the characters' raw emotions perfectly, leaving the reader aching, in love, angry, and desperate. Just when you think there couldn't be another plot twist, there is. The cliffhanger leaves you on the end of your seat, begging for the next book! I read this book in less than 6 hours!
My only complaint is that I wish there was a bigger role for Lilly. She's such a fundamental part of Never's life, and she speaks of her as a sister, but she's continually gets left behind.
I was so excited for the 2nd instalment in the series and it did not disappoint.
This book begins right where we left off in Another Damned Darling.
Never, Matty, Lily and Leo have all been transported back to “Halloween Night”. Quickly Leo, Lily and Never realize that Matty is possessed and that they are going to be in the fight for their lives as Never is on a mission to save her brother.
Hook is left distraught and is determined to find his way earthbound.
Never although determined to save her brother is drawn to the memory of Atlas and feels as though a piece of her is with him.
We get a lot more backstory and details in this book that helps us understand the predicament hook is in.
Atlas finds his way to Never and together they are ready to burn down the world.
Book two of this incredible Peter Pan story and we pick up right from where we left off! Once again the author weavers their magic and pulls us back into this incredible fantasy world. With an adventurous and exciting storyline we rejoin Never Darling who is a total badass and who thought her adventures were over and is concentrating on raising her younger brother. Never is such a great character, she’s strong, she’s sassy and she can totally kick ass. Hook is still hot as hell and their chemistry is off the charts as their tumultuous journey continues on. Full of surprises and twists and turns, It’s still a little dark, it’s still a whole lotta spicy and once again I found myself drawn in and unable to put this down.
Never is so damn stubborn!! Good lord! She drove me absolutely crazy the entire time. A lot of situations probably wouldn't have gotten as bad if she wasn't so stubborn. But, I adore her crazy ass anyway! Hook is a dream, but the love triangle is making me feel bad for both characters. It's not fair to either one of them. My favorite character and the one that took the spotlight is Lily. I knew, in book 1, she was something different, but she's gotten even cooler and better in this book. She is hilarious and so sassy! I hate how she ended up in Never's world, but I love the friendship and closeness they have. Like book 1, the cliffhanger wad INSANE 😭 I wish I could just know what happens next via osmosis. I need answers on how the heck this is going to be fixed!
The story continued, about halfway through I wasn’t sure how the story was going to go. But I’m glad I got to keep reading. There were a lot of climax moments in the plot and it was satisfying when Petra was thrown into the sea. I also liked how Never was able to fight the pixie. And the jealousy Atlas had with Leo. Although that part could have been played up a bit more. Where Leo has more lingering moments with Never. Although it’s very clear from the whole storyline that Never and Atlas are truly soulmates for each other. Can’t wait to read the next one.
Another damned fantastic book! I did not realize that this story could get better! I didn’t realize that it could go in so many new and unexpected ways!!! When the first book ended i was devastated i needed more and now that I’ve had more? I need even more! Nevers character is everything you want in a female main character and Hook is just everything! Myka Bound is an amazing author that tells the most compelling story I’ve read in a long while! I absolutely cannot wait for the rest of this series!
Very excited to have received an ARC copy of Another Damned Pirate, I loved the first book and couldn't wait to dive into the 2nd. The story picks up right where Another Damned Darling leaves off so there isn't much of a time gap thank goodness, and we get an interesting new character to fall in love with, Lilly. I do wish there was a bigger role for her, and that she got to return with everyone else, but, hopefully in the next book. I loved the spice, the plot, and Atlas, love love love Atlas.
Definitely a fun, quick read. Fast paced with the action and minimal exposition, which I enjoy because it leaves space for the reader to use their own intelligence to piece things together. There was less spice in this book compared to the first of the series, but I didn’t mind. Mostly because I find Hook’s character to be so compelling and interesting that I’m more into learning about his background (and Leo’s and Lily’s) than I am into reading a ton of smut. Which is a credit to Myka Bound because I do love me some PWP reads.
I absolutely love this series! The way that Myka Bound twists this Peter Pan retelling is *chef’s kiss*. Another Damned Pirate doesn’t waste any time with jumping right into the action. I love the snark Never continues to bring to the story, and I can’t get enough of Hook’s broody, protective alpha swagger. Lots of spice and twists and turns! Looking forward to book 3!
I loved this book so much! I have been waiting for it since I read Another Damned Darling when it released. I was skeptical of the series because I'm not a big fan of Peter Pan. I was soooooooo impressed with this retelling. The characters are wonderful and the story is such an original twist! I love Never and Hook's dynamic, and they are HOT!
Good story! Good pace, lots of action, good dialogue, I really like the characters & the storyline. Normally, I prefer more spice, but the pacing of the story makes up for it. This was my 1st series by this author & I do enjoy her style. I’ll definitely buy book 3.
2.5 stars? honestly this book was too damn long. i was bored by the middle of the book, fully not understanding where the plot was supposed to be going. it felt like the signposts that usually indicate the general plot of a story were all outta whack. this book through me off so much that i may not even read the third book that's coming out. :/
I love how this author has reimagined a classic tale. Never is bada$$ and mouthy in an I’m-rooting-for-you kind of way. Hook is the man of everyone’s dreams.
I’m hoping that we have a run in with Never’s mom and stepdad. There’s not much said about their sudden disappearances, but I can’t help but wonder if it’s due to demons or other ancient beings.
This is book two in Another Damned Series, and Myka does it again. I am a sucker for a retelling and a book about pirates?? Book two picks up immediately where book one ends. I didn't put this book down, it is gripping, sultry and action packed. Myka leaves us on a cliffhanger wanting more. Can't wait for book 3!
Thank goodness for Myka bringing this to us after that cliffhanger!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 🌶️🌶️🌶️
This was a great Fantasy read that crossed into Urban Fantasy. Shifters, demons, villains and heros. A great continuation of her first installment of this Peter Pan Retelling!
That I enjoy the story enough to overlook how much I really dislike Never. Her "stubbornness" comes across as stupidity and selfishness to me. I have yet to figure out what has Hook and also Leo so enamored with her.
This second book immediately picked up where the first left off and there was not a lag in the action. This book was fast paced and so so good. The fact that the 3rd book isn’t out yet is killing me-I need more Atlas and Never!
What a fast paced, action packed sequel! Even though the struggles that Never and Hook had to work through seemed to morph it didn't cause you to get lost. Everything flowed beautifully making me want to stay completely engaged to how their story progressed! These Cliffhangers are killer though!
The series continued...... all I can say is I'm here till the very end! The first book was great but this one is even better! The characters have continued to grow as people and the plot is still as intense as it was at the start.
One of my favorite Darling and Hook adventures! This story was devoured in one sitting. Never is completely badazz, Hook is delicious and their chemistry simply smolders. Loved learning about everyone's back stories a bit more. The cliffhanger was expected but still had me grumbling lol It's all good though, because I definitely want more of all of these characters!
