~*Two worlds collide in this secret identity, enemies to lovers romance novella.*~
Smutty fanfic writer by night. Administrative assistant by day. Hazel has no clue that the man employing her is her smutty co-writer. The same guy who just fired her for seemingly no reason.
Smutty fanfic writer by night. Lawyer by day. Cavan Kincade has no clue that the woman he's just fired is also the woman he's been falling in love with for years. Truth is, in real life, he's an unlikable mess--and he knows it. Even if he's somehow able to share something magical with a woman online who he assumes he'll never meet.
But when this online woman has Cavan rethinking his decision to fire Hazel, and Hazel's brought back into his life a second time, he suddenly finds himself rethinking everything when he accidentally discovers that Hazel and his cowriter are one and the same.
Romancing the Ghost is part of the Haunted House Halloween series world. This is a steamy, standalone short with a guaranteed HEA full of geekiness and fandom.
Rachel Radner is a former Pennsylvanian who will always miss Wawa.
She's been writing since the first grade when her teacher handed her a journal and instructed her to write about her day. From then on, she was always writing down the stories in her head.
After she graduated from Penn State in 2010, she spent time in NYC doing improv, acting on film, and performing in musical theatre. She participated in NaNoWriMo for the first time in 2012 and started what would become her first romance novel.
When she isn't writing and drinking coffee, she can be found geeking out about Star Wars or SNL, watching something from the Marvel universe, reading, or studying Latin and German.
She currently lives in Los Angeles, CA where she's also pursuing her dream of acting and filmmaking.
When Hazel is fired from her job by Cavan, she feels like she's hit rock bottom. Turning to the one solid thing she has left, she talks to her online friend and co-writer of fan fiction smut Xavier. When she bumps into Cavan in the supermarket, she's surprised by the different side of him she sees, as he apologises to her and offers her her job back. They spend time together and realise they have much more in common than they originally thought. Hazel soon finds herself caught in a love triangle between the man she's never met Xavier and the man Cavan is turning out to be, only not everything is as it seems and she may not have to make a choice after all.
It was a super sweet quick read and I enjoyed it. It's all told from Hazel's POV so we never truly get to know what Cavan is thinking or feeling apart from the things he says out loud to Hazel or the body language that she notices, however, it's enough for us to get to know that he's heavily misunderstood and that Hazel softens him. I wouldn't say the language used by a 'smut writer' is overly graphic and the 'cybersex' between Hazel and Xavier is very tame and quite simplistic. Still, it works in the case of the characters as they do come across as reserved, and there was enough to imply what they were doing and feeling.
3.5⭐️ This was a fun short romance. When Caven fired Hazel, the only good thing she had left was fanfic writing and her online friend Xavier. For three years these two have had an online relationship, that has recently gotten more serious, but they’ve never met… or have they!! This was a quick read told only in Hazel’s pov, and it would’ve been nice to get Cavan’s.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️🌶️/5 Romancing the Ghost by @rachelradnerauthor Such a cute story! You never know who you’re talking to online, but this book makes you hope it works out the same way as it did for Hazel! 💜
The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Hazel/Millie and Cavan/Xavier. The story keeps us turning the pages with secret identities, unspoken desire, insecurities and steam.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a quick cute read. This is a back and forth fun read with a few secrets and tons of chemistry. Hazel and her boss don’t always see eye to eye…but boy do they have a pull towards each other. Cavan has a big secret and little does he know he shares it with someone he least expects to. This is a quick read about two people who don’t expect to fall for the person right under their nose. The story was fast paced and I look forward to reading more books by this author.
