I keep reading this thinking "it's gonna get better... right?"
Next one... no?
next.... still no?
It's just really weird and pretty uncomfortable. Especially in the earlier volumes when the MC almost gets raped... that was... wow. Poor execution on the authors part there.
I don't know why I read this far if I'm being honest. The story is super average with a stupid MC and a possessive ML.

I picked this series up as it's been sitting on my to read list for a while.
I ended up devouring this series in 24 hours. It's sparked the whole mafia romance kick for me. I enjoyed the innocent relationship between our main characters and can't wait for the next one in the series to come out. The artwork is really well done.

So...this series is pretty cute and wholesome compared to Yakuza Lover...but also taboo with the age gap/caretaker romance. Really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more. I wouldn't say its and all time favorite but I have REALLY had fun reading this!

Look, a responsible adult with reasonable concerns about their relationship! Not that Shido has much room to talk, after he dated her mom starting from HS…obviously they broke up, but it didn’t seem like it in the flashbacks to their interactions. There was no awkwardness from being exes.

I found it a bit concerning that her grandpa warned her that Kyouya isn’t trustworthy. I’m not sure what he means about that - I can imagine him cheating on her without considering it a problem, just because he seems to think of physical relationships as very casual.

Their relationship is a bit questionable, especially since he’s so clear that she CAN’T leave him. That’s not really healthy…but on the other hand, if she doesn’t want to leave, it doesn’t become a problem.

COMMENTO PERSONALE: Sono stata davvero contenta di ritrovare i nostri amati personaggi che finalmente possono viversi la propria relazione a cielo aperto e a cuore sereno. Isaku è contentissima di poter vivere la sua relazione e si stupisce che suo nonno fosse talmente attento ai suoi sentimenti che rivela allo stesso Keya delle cose sconvolgenti e in svariate situazioni di queste la protagonista è in imbarazzo. Lui invece è il figo della situazione e si stupisce che il suo superiore non si frapponga all’amore tra loro. Ci sono scene più intime, più baci e coccole e lei spesso e volentieri interrompe Keya proprio sul più bello… (attivate ‘immaginazione prego). Ma comunque compare un nuovo personaggio che potrebbe essere un intralcio tra i due: sto parlando di Shido, la guardia della madre della protagonista. Lui cerca in modo grossolano e impacciato di avvicinarsi a lei confidandole il desiderio di sua madre e comincia a scoprirsi qualche cosa in più in merito. Effettivamente le analogie sono davvero tantissime e il mio capitolo preferito sicuramente riguarda il festival e l’idea di fare a gara tra questi due che cercano di comprare l’amore di Isaku. Chiaramente il volume si conclude in modo molto dolce e soprattutto suggerisce già che il prossimo avrà l’episodio sul compleanno di Isaku. Ve la consiglio davvero tantissmo

 

Ed eccoci giunti al termine di una nuova chiacchierata. Fatemi sapere se anche voi la state seguendo come me e non vedete l’ora che escano i volumi. Mi suggerite qualche lettura a tema halloween?

Innanzitutto il disegno presente nella tavola all’inizio del volume sembra essere quasi disegnato con colori ad olio molto bella, la storia è interessante. Le copertine mi fanno impazzire curate e magnifiche. La storia tra i Isaku e Keiya parte da un rapporto molto forte che li lega fin dal primo incontro nel quale Isaku aveva inconsciamente iniziato ad amarlo. Isaku s’imbarazza facilmente è molto dolce, Keiya anche se non lo da a vedere prova qualcosa per lei ma non riesce a darsi la forza per esprimerlo.
Affrontano situazioni che li avvicinano ulteriormente, dopo che Mikio cerca di farle del male, ma fortunatamente non ci riesce. Keiya ammette che è la sua donna e non vuole che nessuno la tocchi davvero molto protettivo. Quando Isaku finalmente decide di essere pronta per rivelargli i suoi sentimenti, si confessano il loro amore l’uno per l’altra è stato molto dolce e super romantico. Però lei lo vede con un altra mi si è spezzato il cuore insieme a quello di Isaku. Riescono a risolvere le loro incomprensioni e devo dire che sono una coppia magnifica e finalmente si baciano per la prima volta che carini. La storia dal volume sei diventa molto più passionale, inoltre lei da piccola è adorabile la mangerei di baci.
Ora sono curiosa di sapere cosa succederà.

This volume was... interesting. Because my mixed feelings are back as we have a new character who seems to be the only adult with adult like views regarding their relationship and he started speaking sense into me and you know, Keiya goes and tells that line of his that always makes me roll my eyes. But... but it's still wholesome and cute and I kinda like it (if I just don't think about their age gap and maturity levels).

Anyway, you know how it took us forever for them to kiss? Well I guess I now know why because once they did they do not seem to stop! And I approve that. It's definitely not the usual shy teenage relationship usually portrayed in shoujo mangas - obviously not, HE IS NOT A TEENAGER! But alas, I am sad we have just one more volume and then no news. I don't even know if this series is finished or still ongoing, but I am not ready to part ways with them.

Oh the Yakuza cats have my heart and I will forever spam my husband with pictures of them!

In questo volume vediamo i protagonisti comportarsi come una coppia vera e propria.
Il nonno sa della loro relazione, ma fortunatamente non è contro.
C'è anche l'apparizione di un nuovo personaggio, Shido, guardia del corpo della madre di Isaku, con cui ha avuto anche una relazione sentimentale.
Viene da domandarsi se sia il suo vero padre, ma l'idea non è neppure passata per la testa della protagonista, quindi forse si conosce già l'identità del genitore?
Comunque sia, davvero un bel volume.
Adoro il tratto della mangaka e mi piace il fatto che la serie nonostante sia uno shoujo, mostri delle tavole al quanto sensuali tra Isaku e Keiya.

Moving fast

I do want to hear more of her mothers back story, and find out who her father is. I thought for a split second it might be Shido-san but I don't see him not bring around when she was growing up if he were her father and knew about it.

I think her guard dog is moving too fast, but I also like how he does things she enjoys like the date they had. Its very clear he has way more experience than she does, so its interesting and nerve wrecking to see them navigate around that. Looking forward to the next installment.

I love that we got a character that was like "she's a kid" and also when he gave the "I'm her dad, mom, brother and lover" mantra was like "ew what does that mean!?" Hahah makes it even better that he was coerced by her mother. This is getting better for me.

In questo nuovo volume siamo alle prese con la comparsa in scena di un nuovo personaggio. Con un alone di nostalgia saremo catapultati nel passato della mamma di Isaku e delle conoscenza tra lei e Shido (la copia in là con l’età di Keiya). A quanto pare ci sono delle cose che Isaku scoprirà di sua madre grazie a Shido e nel frattempo dovrà anche fronteggiare la nuova “situazione piccioncini” con Keiya. Saprà Isaku desistere dal violare il desiderio di sua madre? O si rivelerà sua degna figlia? 🧐 chissà chi l’avrà vinta

Lei e il suo cane da guardia è un manga che mi ha conquistata dal primo capitolo. Non riuscivo a smettere di leggere: tutto, dai personaggi alla loro dinamica, è adorabile e super coinvolgente!
La protagonista, Isaku, è dolce e determinata e il suo rapporto con Keiya, il suo “cane da guardia”, è semplicemente meraviglioso. La chimica tra i due è ciò che amo maggiormente: tensione, complicità, momenti dolci e romantici, tutto reso con delicatezza e cura. Ho adorato la rappresentazione teatrale di Romeo e Giulietta e, senza dubbio, ciò che rende questo manga così bello è l'attenzione che Keiya dona costantemente e esclusivamente ad Isaku: Keiya è gelosissimo e possessivo nel modo giusto, e adoro come la protegge e interagisce con lei con dolcezza e premura. Niente è più importante di lei ai suoi occhi.
L’age gap tra i protagonisti è un filino discutibile, ma onestamente… è un manga. Leggo tante recensioni critiche sull'argomento (in generale sia per i libri che per i manga) ed è davvero semplice: leggete la trama, informatevi sui triggers, se non fa per voi andate avanti. Non vale davvero la pena creare un polverone sul nulla e soffermarcisi così tanto. La storia riesce a essere emozionante, divertente e tenera allo stesso tempo e non stiamo certo parlando di due bambini!
Detto questo, il nonno di Isaku (con il suoi gattoni) è assolutamente iconico: capo del clan yakuza, è presente nei momenti giusti, aggiunge leggerezza alla storia e la rende molto più divertente!
L’arte è pulita, espressiva e cattura perfettamente le emozioni dei personaggi: dai gesti teneri alle scene romantiche ogni personaggio ha la sua funzione e contribuisce alla trama senza mai essere superfluo. Ma poi, dobbiamo parlare di quanto siano belle le copertine? E' la prima cosa che ha colto la mia attenzione in libreria!
Non vedo l’ora che l’autrice continui la serie!
