That would be how I ended up back home in Cummings Cove, teenage daughter in tow, surrounded by the Coven of Witches that raised me. Their golden child, the ‘most powerful witch in an age’, had returned. They were thrilled.
Except there's one problem, my magic isn’t what it used to be. And now, I’m one sneeze away from giving my daughter a pig's nose.
That’s not the only problem that awaits me in Cummings Cove. Landon Andrews, my high school boyfriend and long forgotten fiancé. He never left home, and it just so happens that he’s everywhere.
And I mean everywhere; with those perfect abs and perfect eyes and perfect everything trying to weasel his way back into my life after twenty years away. I won’t let him. No matter how hard he tries to sink his teeth in.
Which is probably for the best, because it turns out that he has a secret that might get both of us killed. Let’s get Bit! And dive in!
DNF @ 35%. We have this woman, who is almost 40, getting drunk to the point of falling on the street while her 15 year-old daughter is alone at home. Then, few days later, the same woman goes to a bar with her best friend, to get so drunk again, that she was throwing up in bar bathroom, but not before a handsy guy got too handsy with her and no one did anything - other than the vampire who has been in love with her over 20 years and abandoned her without explanation. He holds her hair while is sick and drunk and forcing himself not to kiss or bite her while he’s aroused. Let me repeat: he is aroused while she is completely drunk and doesn’t have control of what she is doing and saying. She had a business of selling sex toys and talking about sexual health and is worried about using the word “dick” in front of her teenager daughter. Her best friend confess to making her drunk on purpose so she can get laid and gets her a job with the guy who broke her heart 18 years ago and conveniently forgets to mention he is her neighbour. All in the name of “good intentions”. And all that while they still had not talked about the reasons he left her or even apologized for upending her life. And that is just the first 30% of book.
Brilliant read. Kat is coming home with her tail between her legs.. or her wand. Her ex did a real number on her but that's ok when she is welcomed home with open arms and she can finally be her true self again magic and all, until she manages to put a pig snout on her daughters face. Her Magic skills may be rusty but the rest of her surely isn't especially when she looks upon another one of her Ex's and find him the same as ever but also not the same person she remembers. Brilliant read. can't wait to read the next one!
I was laughing and imagining some of the scenes so much that I had to stop reading around my 12 year old! I loved the fun nature of the storyline and the characters are all great. You feel like you are right there in the story, living what is happening. This was definitely a fun book with some great twists that make you want more.
I came across this book one night when I couldn't sleep. It didn't help my insomnia and my husband complained he couldn't sleep because of how much I was laughing! It is so entertaining and funny. This is a amazing book.
