I enjoyed this. I think it would be fun and informative for any child trying to pick up German. I was greatly impressed with the pronunciation guide in the back, which described the "ü" sound (which does not exist in English), clearly and succinctly.

I’ve always enjoyed the “first 100” and “first 1000” words books by Usborne! As a child, I would lay them side by side, compare the languages and look for recognizable patterns.

Does reading this book once make me fluent in Arabic? Of course not! The only letter I can recognize is alif! However, the prononciation was written in our alphabet, and it allowed me to find a few patterns, a few words that probably have the same root as in French (camisole-kamees).

Arabic calligraphy fascinates me and you can bet I will go through that book many times!

“First hundred words in Maori” by Heather Amery ; illustrated by Stephen Cartwright ; Maori translation by Huia Publishers.
Ok, but all the illustrations are obviously templates used in a European context. Some words don't accurately match up. ***

Fun short book to name objects in your household. The illustrations were fun to follow along with the family theme added to it, but unfortunately sometimes the pictures don't seem to match up.

Great started book for my littles. My kids are beginning to learn Spanish and this book offers a great introduction to the language with familiar words and pictures.

Ce livre serait mieux s'il incluait des prononciations. Je vis dans une ferme et j'ai un chien, deux chats et un coq. Le français dans ce livre était assez facile à comprendre. Et bientôt, il sera temps pour moi de cueillir aussi les pommes dans mon verger. Maintenant j'ai juste besoin de trouver une personne française à qui cette conversation serait pertinente et intéressante ... Peut-être un enfant de 2 ans?

This book would be better if it included pronunciations. I live on a farm and have a dog, two cats and a rooster. The French in this book was fairly easy to understand. And soon it will be time for me to pick the apples in my orchard as well. Now I just need to find a French person to whom this conversation would be relevant and interesting... Perhaps a 2-year old?

This is great for our whole family and we want more.
Wish our edition had the stickers! Could I have forgotten?
We reread this so many times because the illustrations captured our child.

I love this. Not only do you get pictures with the words, there are scenes for an eye-spy aspect as well. Very clever.

Mummy is biased with this book because she can remember books illustrated by Stephen Cartwright when she was a kid. However I liked all the words when mummy told them to me!

I read this book when I was younger. It is a great fun way of helping children to learn french. It uses real life situations and lots of pictures to support french learning.

Great book to get a feel for some of the language, though I wish there was a description of how to pronounce the words.
