Can Claire solve the murder at the garden centre? Spring has sprung in Northash, and for Claire Harris, the season promises new beginnings. With the garden centre blooming and her father Alan landing a part-time job as a gardener there, all seems well until Claire collaborates with the local beekeeper for her new beeswax range of wildflower candles. A seemingly innocent cup of herbal tea seals the beekeeper's fate, leading Claire into a honeycomb of betrayal, motives, and deadly flora.
AGATHA FROST, an Amazon bestselling author, has written over thirty mystery novels. She lives in the North West English county of Lancashire with her two cuddly beagles and one cat.
When Agatha isn’t writing, she loves reading head-scratching mysteries and thrillers, coffee, baking, and exploring her local countryside on long dog walks.
From a young age, Agatha devoured the great British murder mystery books and television shows, ample inspiration for her Peridale Café and Claire’s Candles series. She loves writing about family women who juggle their ordinary village lives with the challenges of amateur sleuthing.
Add in some good food, close friends and family, cute pets, and plenty of twists and turns, and you have a classic Agatha Frost mystery.
This was another enjoyable entry in the Claire's Candles mystery series. Claire and her father (a former policeman now retired due to health issues) are right in the thick of the latest murder in town.
I found the mystery interesting, with many potential suspects. But what I like even more about the series is how all of the characters continue to change and grow. Even Claire's mother, the seemingly unlikeable Janet, is now a successful businesswoman, playing on her talents of being a great cleaner. Claire and Ryan's relationship keeps developing, but encounters many of the problems of real relationships. I look forward to reading the next in the series, and am curious to see what happens with all of the characters.
When the local beekeeper, Nigella Turner, turns up dead, the village of Northash is stunned. Claire’s new scent, “Honey Wild Flower” was made from the wax of Nigella’s bees! Her candles start flying off the shelves when the town’s folk realize the candles are made from the wax of Nigella’s final honey harvest. Even worse, it appears that Nigella was poisoned.
Claire’s father, Alan, is working part-time at the local garden center where the murder occurred. Between the two, they work hard to solve the murder.
This was another good mystery. The characters propel the plot forward. Claire and Ryan’s relationship, along with Sally and Damon’s add a touch of realism to these books.
Another delightful and puzzling visit to Northash and Claire's Candles. A sad loss of a new character and threatening and worrisome clues that Claire and her father are required to sort to discover the perpetrators of a murder an attempted murder are the basis for the crime. The wonderful and sometimes stressful family interactions make Claire's village seem like home. Yet another successful mystery for Agatha Frost. I do so love these stories.
These books are so sweet. I love the couples, Claire a bit overweight and with glasses with hunk Rayan and High School Queen Sally in love with nerd Damon. I loved in his book how the kids are taken with Claire. And Claire and her Dad, such a great team! Throughout the books I have even warmed to Janet.
The plot as usual was engaging, The perpetrator was on my list of suspects but I wasn’t sure until the reveal. I love the interaction between the characters and developing relationships.
Another lovable "clever heroine solves the case". I love this series
Claire's Candles continues to exceeds my expectations for a cozy mystery. I especially admire the portrayal of Claire's dad and his efforts to cope with his disabilities
I love these books by Aatha Frost. The story was well written with a few twists and turns, catching the villain in the end. The storyboard Claire and Ryan is lovely too.
The characters are wonderful and evolving. The plot is twisty and interesting. The world building is great. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
I really like this series. There is always an interesting murder and some misdirection. The characters are likeable and the bad guys always get caught.
My favorite book of the series, I couldn’t put it down. The characters, whether lovable or detestable, jump off the page. Amelia is a hoot and makes me laugh. I thought I knew the killer but was still surprised at the ending. Agatha transported me right in Northash as if I were part of the book!
