Every time I saw the phrase "The Mother Road" I just wanted to gag. Yes, I know that's what Steinbeck called it, but do we have to use it over and over again?
This is NOT a travel guide, it's more like an art photo book with some trying-hard-to-be-poetic text. The photos are great. But they are also Self Conscious. Too many abandoned cars under endless blue skies, wrinkled elderly business owners surrounded by the detris of the careers, etc.
