Isabelle and Jeremy have been together since tenth grade and inseparable ever since. Being together for so long has made them the inspiration for their friend's relationships. Everyone wants a relationship like the two high school sweethearts, but being together for so long has its challenges. Jeremy's family is highly traditional. Now that they're married, they expect the next step—a baby. Jeremy falls right in line like he always does regarding his family. On the other hand, Isabelle has goals she still wants to pursue. A baby is a big step, and she is in no rush to start a family. Can they work through something this big, or will this be what breaks them for good?
Easy to read and follow! Gave that light but romance vibe without the spice/steam. I feel like I wanted a little more of their lives.. seeing what actually happens after everything goes down. No spoilers! I received this ARC for an honest review, all thoughts/opinions above are my own!
This book was a light fluffy quick read for me. There were many sex scenes in the book but I don’t particularly think they were on the spicy side. This book reminds of a book, I would find on Wattpad that I would actually read. I’m more into other kinds of books right now but still enjoyed this read. I would rate it a 3.5/5 because while I enjoyed this read I don’t think this has been one of my favorites that I will always reread. One of the things that I did not like was that the entire book was them lying to each other about babies and having babies but we never got to see her get pregnant or their life with children at all. I’m glad I was able to ARC read this beautiful book. I probably would’ve ran across it on my many groups or at bookstores, and I would’ve bought it because this is the kind of book that I read from time to time. Great book!

If you want a quick read wherein it contains spice and reality of a married couple, this one’s for you. This book contains a lot of cheesy romantic scenes of Jeremy letting Izzy know how much he loves him. Oh to have a Jeremy 🩷🩷🩷
I received this ARC and read it right away. It’s a book that will make you realize the reality of the life of a married couple who’s pressure has been put on them. I love how Jeremy supports Izzy’s dreams and goals without having to ask her to quit her job just for the sake of having a baby. I love how Jeremy is so gentle and understanding with Izzy. Izzy, even without her own family growing up, unaware she became the mother to Josie who she had been taking care of and loved much. Izzy would do anything for Josie and treated her like her own sister. Amazing how Izzy never grew up with a family yet she knows how to navigate at manage a family. It comes naturally to her. Like every other married couple, their relationship is not perfect. Knowing that they have been high school sweethearts, it made me think why do they have many miscommunications. You really don’t know what’s going on in a person’s mind unless you communicate clearly.
Rating this book 4/5 stars. I would definitely want to read the book 3 once it comes out!!! 🩷

What happens after the HEA? This was such a beautiful, light, slightly spicy, easy read ✨ This book is unique to most books that I generally read, considering I do the romance genre almost exclusively. It isn’t about two people falling in love, but what happens AFTER the HEA? It’s real life. Real challenges and hurdles after being in a relationship for so long. Choosing to continue loving that person and working through things together. For me, this book was extremely relatable and hit home. The book follows a couple who met in math class (geometry I think it was), he fell first but was in the friend zone for a while, they finally starting dating in tenth grade and he knew right away that he wanted to marry her. Over a decade later, they are a few years into their marriage and everyone around them are having children. She decides to go back to school to further her career and wants to travel, while he wants to have children as the next step (because they’re almost 30.) [OKAY, this was written about my love story, I swear. My husband and I met in maths class in year 9, were best friends for a year (he was friend-zoned until I realised I loved him back), then 12 years later we have been married for four, I’m back at uni and wanting to travel a bit more before we decided to have kids. (And yep, being nearly 30 means nearly all our friends have kids now!) The only difference is, we don’t have the family pressure and we don’t have miscommunication like poor Jeremy and Izzy.] Okay, back to the book. I loved seeing a different type of romance story. I was hooked the entire way because I wanted to see how they would navigate something so real and honest. Societal pressures of having that next step in a relationship and ticking off that next ‘goal’ is so prominent even in the 21stC, so the way it was represented in this story was so important. People are always going to ask what’s next, when are you getting married, buying a house, having a kid? It is okay to take life and your relationship at YOUR pace, not what they expect of you. There’s also jobs and bills and family things going on outside of your control that impact a relationship, so it’s so important to work together on those things. I also loved the added little mystery in there to keep the pace going! The relationship itself was beautiful (besides that one little miscommunication misstep, and sometimes it’s okay to make mistakes, it makes your relationship stronger). They so clearly had a deep connection and the way they always put each other first was sweet. They also still had a great sex life and supported each other no matter what. Overall, this was a beautiful book if you enjoy reading about a real, adult relationship. I can’t wait for Ilene’s book and Dex’s POV Novella 🥹🫶🏼✨
I really really liked the idea of this book! Isabelle is a likable character. She’s true to herself and what she wants! Jeremy on the other hand, was very much a Mama’s boy character but by the end he started coming around.
The plot has so much potential and the characters are written well. I think the mystery aspect of the story could be developed a bit more. It was almost instantly clear who the “suspect” was when we were first introduced to them! Maybe throw in a few other potential suspects, and be less specific right off the bat about how mysterious and suspicious they were.
The romance aspect was fluffy and fun to read! I read this book in one day, and it was interesting to see how the main characters’ relationship changed throughout the story.
Writing wise, the dialogue in some places was confusing just because it didn’t always explicitly state who was saying which sentence!
I personally don’t love the pregnancy trope and there’s a lot of talk in this book about future kids and friends/family members kids!
Overall, I did enjoy the book! I received this as an ARC for my review! I would definitely read this author again, I think she has so much potential!!
I was selected as an ARC reader in exchange for my honest review! This book was cute and lighthearted! Definitely easy to follow as well. Isabelle is likeable and almost kind of reminds me of me because she knows what she wants and what she deserves, she knows her worth. However, Jeremy is such a Mama's boy and typically I'm not a huge fan of characters like that because they just do the most for their mom and not their significant other, but Jeremy was patient and kind and his growth was well constructed in throughout the book. I wish we could have got more of the characters lives/ backgrounds there was so much potential for that, considering some of the parts were choppy and felt rushed. It was a quick story and an easy read, but we didn't get a lot of their lives which I kind of crave in books. The plot also had a lot of potential, but I devoured it nonetheless, even if I saw it coming, but sometimes it just works, it just could've been a bit more developed. I think even if I didn't receive this book as an ARC Reader, I still would've bought it because I love light, easy reads with interesting and real life topics! I will be reading more from this author!!!
Overall, I like the idea of this book. I feel like it really does have potential, but a lot has to be edited to make it enjoyable to read.
There were moments when I was tempted to not finish the book in its entirety because it was cringy, cliché, or just boring. I also didn’t realize that this was a continuation of a series, so I’m not entirely sure if this is just the writing style of the author or not. However, I felt like it was very repetitive, especially with the same verbiage being used on continuum.
There were also a lot of grammatical errors and spelling errors. I lost count of them and stopped editing a few chapters into the book because of how many there were. It was also hard, at times, to follow which characters were speaking.
Aside from the grammatical errors, I found that some sentences were also written in an awkward manner. It didn’t read as if it would be said in real life during a regular conversation between friends or between partners. For example, Jeremy calling Isabelle “love of my life” every 5 minutes. It doesn’t feel like it would flow in real life. Yes, couples use nicknames, but that felt excessive and unnecessary. It kind of felt like the author was trying to sell us on the idea that Jeremy and Isabelle are in love by using that term instead of showing readers their love through actions.
Now, the spice. The spice is less than mild, at best. It’s like the author is trying to be spicy, having Jeremy play the dominant one at times, but the dom trope is failing and falling limp on this one. I also found it strange that, on multiple occasions, his sexual drive was referred to as “releasing the animal” or “holding back the animal.” I don’t know why but that part really took the spice level down for me. I understand that not every book can be super smutty, especially a book like this, but I felt like it was a failed attempt at dirty talk.
Again, I didn’t read the beginning of this series so this may have already been topics of those books. But just reading this book, I feel like there needs to be more backstory between Jeremy and Isabelle. Readers need to be given a chance to be more invested in these characters in order to care about what’s going on in their lives. Especially now that they’re married, in careers, and contemplating children. Tell readers about Isabelle’s upbringing with her parents, the accident, her living with her grandmother and her grandmother dying. Tell us about how she moved in with Jeremy’s family, how that impacted her, how that impacted him, etc. Talk about them struggling to maintain a “high school sweetheart” relationship throughout college and how it made them closer as a couple… ANYTHING.
The same thing goes for the other characters. The idea of Maci’s father is introduced a lot but it doesn’t really go anywhere. I get that this can be used as a continuation of the series, but give just a little bit of back story maybe. Like what happened between him and Ilene? Why was he such a bad guy? Why is everyone so uncomfortable with him being brought up in conversations? Same with Dexter and Ally. But like I said, I haven’t read the series so I do not know if these topics have already been addressed.
As stated in the beginning, I do believe that this book has a lot of potential and I wish the author nothing but the best in their endeavors. I enjoyed being a part of the ARC team and giving my feedback. Thank you for the opportunity.
***SPOILERS BELOW***
I wasn’t even half way through the book when I figured out that Beau was Antonio’s son and that he was stealing medication from the hospital for the drug business. I feel like there should be other suspects to throw readers off of this trail. Make it a little mysterious to spice things up and add a shock value.

I was fortunate enough to be selected as an arc reader on this book in exchange for an honest review. Truthfully I have never read any of Alycia books until now. When I was selected as an arc reader I read the first book first before jumping into this one. This book follows Izzy and Jeramy’s life. If I’m being honest this book was extremely hard for me to get into, it took me about 50 percent of the book to finally be committed. At first it took me so long to get engaged because of the writing style, I find that it jumps around way to much, and the sudden it you are getting into details and then switches to like 3 days later at a dinner, when I wasn’t ready for it to jump yet. I will say the writing in this book was substantially better than the first. Jermery the golden retriever boy with a dirty mouth…. It’s always the quiet lovings ones which I am here for. I wasn’t expecting this much spice in the book, but I loved it. The second half of this book I devoured, the action. However the plot twist of who jermery was looking for in his case was predictable right from the start I was just waiting for the name to come up. I loved the life that Izzy and jer share, high school sweethearts. It was a quick read and a quick story, and cute.and overall I wanted more, I felt like it was to fast pace and we didn’t get a lot of there life I wished there was more about them, I felt like this book included a lot of Josie. Will she be getting a book?
Overall I gave this a 3 star it has a lot of potential I just wanted more of the characters life of jer and Izzy. I am looking forward to the next book the friendship all the girls is so cute. I also can’t wait to read the next book to see how much better the writing gets from this story to the next! Thank you so much alycia, it was a cute read to end my summer!
I felt like the plot was pretty predictable. It was a fast read, which I actually needed to get out of my reading slump. The overbearing mother was something I could relate to, in regards to relationships, so it made it easy to follow along. It was nice to see at the end that Jeremy’s mom decided to ease up on the whole having kids thing and was trying to be understanding. I would have loved more background on his dad and more about Isabelle’s past. The thing that bothered me the most was that the ending seemed abrupt. I also normally don’t like when books switch point of views so often, but I felt like the author did a great job at this and it didn’t discourage me from reading it at all!

Romance lovers this book is for you . After reading the the first book isn’t he series I needed more ! I love the relationship between the two main characters and their love gives you the story everyone wanted to hear !! The spice right off the bat made this book a page turner for me !!! Can’t wait to see what this author writes next 😍
Career driven high school sweethearts, both with their little secrets. Cute, easy read with a bit of spice. I liked the characters, and thought the story was well written. I did not like the “love of my life” phrase being said over and over, it was cringy. I loved the story line about Josie and her mom and Jeremy stepping up.
I do suggest reading The Reason first as there are some of the same characters.
I was given a digital copy in return for my honest review.
The Inspiration is different from what I normally read, but I was pleasantly surprised. Married couple, finding their way through the “what’s next for us” as they are out of their “honeymoon” phase. Lots of sex, medium spice. A bit of suspense and action at the end of the book surrounding their jobs. This is a plot building filled story.
I found this book quite relatable and enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one!
2 high school sweethearts ... 👩❤️👨 After years together, engagement and marriage what is the next step ? Yeah...babies. But could be that easy ? Jeremy is a sweetheart and a hell of a men and Isabelle has goals she still wants to pursue.
I really loved their story and growth, and how it ended. Loved that Dex and All and their growing family appeared some more in the story. You have a little bit of steam ,lots of love, and some misunderstandings,a little bit of action and not a really great communication between the 2 characters for a while there. But they figure it out.
I really liked this book and I am wainting for the next one from this series . I recommend this book.

Went totally blind into this book, as this isnt a normal trope i go for, and my I'm glad I did. This book had it all , the character build was perfect , Jemery and Izzy relationship is goals , I love how much they love each other after all this time. His name for her though " love of my life" 🥰 just perfect. They both want different things at different times and I'm glad they went through that helped them to grow so much as a couple.
The plot in this book sure does keep you going, you have Jeremy work life to read and that was a nice little touch also Izzy job too. I love the family time, Izzy helping Jeremy sister when his own mum was having none off it. Through the book she was the one character that annoyed me she couldn't see what she was doing to Josie was so damaging and it was heartbreaking, she just wanted to be loved and supported and I'm glad she had Jeremy and Izzy for that.
The moment Beau was mentioned in the book he just didn't 'sit' right with me , he screamed trouble from the get go and I loved it came to a end though.
Okay now can we talk about the spice in this book because for me its definitely a 4 star chilli rating, there was definitely plenty to read and I loved it 😂
I would totally recommend this book if you want short and hot and straight to the point, it has it all !
*ARC REVIEW* A cute little story. Even tho it’s a standalone I think you should read the first book called The Reason to understand the friendships between the characters. This book along with the fist one has a lot of spice scenes in it. The ending was definitely my favorite. But I loved the relationship between Izzy and Jeremy also!
The story follows Isabelle; a nurse/midwife and her dirty talking, police officer, golden retriever husband; Jeremy. They married 3 years ago and have always done what is expected of them. Their colleagues, family and friends are having babies and it seems that everyone around them is expecting them to do the same. It is the most obvious and logical next step for them .. but they aren’t on the same page. Mama’s boy; Jeremy is very keen on having a baby to please his overbearing mother. Meanwhile, Izzy is applying to study to become a Nurse Practitioner. She is not ready to start a family while balancing her career and school. Izzy also begins to doubt whether she would be a good mother because after losing her mother at a young age, she didn’t have maternal figure to learn from.
This book had so much potential. I would have liked to see the characters backstories fleshed out a bit more! Especially Isabelle’s upbringing after her parents and grandmother died and moved in with Jeremy’s family. I feel that having more insight into Izzy’s childhood would add to the story and give the readers a better understanding of her reluctance to start a family. I feel that the arrest scene should have been fleshed out a bit more too, it was very rushed and choppy and left a lot for the reader to imagine. Expanding this chapter would have added more suspense. Having additional suspects would have also added to this part of the story line.
The nursing aspect of the book was also quite inaccurate but I’ve learnt to expect that from authors who do not have a healthcare background or experience. The theft of the drugs took a long time to be picked up on. Drugs like fentanyl are counted every single shift and would be investigated immediately. As a nurse myself, this part of the story was very unrealistic and lessened the reading experience for me.
I would be interested to read a novel about Josie and how she takes to parenthood!
My main issue with this book was the dialogue. It didn’t flow like it should have and I often had to go over the same sentence twice to figure out who said what. It requires a bit of editing in order to make it a more enjoyable read.
DUAL POV. TROPES: Miscommunication - Found Family - High School Sweethearts - HEA - Drug mystery/action - Low level spice
Favourite quotes: • “When I’m with her, it’s like nothing else exists. She is my world; I’m the only one living within in.” • “Her smile completely steals my attention.” • “I have the damn world in this woman. I don’t need anything as long as I have Isabelle”. • “She smiles and my heart give an extra beat just for her.” • “I’ve loved you from the moment I saw you in geometry class.” • “It’s worth the wait, she’s worth the wait.”
Overall the book was good and a very quick read. I read this as an ARC and would read from this author again. I believe she has great potential. I wish the author luck for her release of this book and future works. :)
*Disclaimer: I am grateful for the opportunity to read this advanced copy of ‘The Inspiration.’ The review and all opinions are my own.*

This was my first time reading Alycia Carosella, and I would definitely be interested in reading more of her work!
The Inspiration follows Isabelle and Jeremy, who are high school sweethearts and have only had eyes for one another for the past ten years. Isabelle doesn’t have family, and she is a labor and delivery nurse, and Jeremy is a mama’s boy, but he is also a cop whom is working on an important case to hopefully become a detective.
Jeremy is looking for the next step in their relationship and receives so much pressure from his mother about having a baby. Isabelle is conflicted about starting a family because she did not have a stable mother figure growing up and doesn’t want to fail, but she also wants to go back to school and feels she will have a hard time balancing a new baby in the mix. Jeremy and Isabelle never keep secrets for each other, but both had something to hide.
I loved the characters in this book. Jeremy is everyone’s typically book boyfriend. He is loyal, a family man, knows how to pleasure his girl, but he is head over heals for his wife.
Isabelle is headstrong, she is true to herself, knows how to stand her ground, but she knows what she wants and won’t compromise anything to achieve her goals.
This book was easy to read. There was a lot of sex scenes, but I wouldn’t considered them *smut*. The only thing I did not enjoy about this book was the dialogue was choppy at times and I had a hard time following who was talking to who, or who was speaking in general. This was a pregnancy trope, and the whole book spoke about Jeremy’s thoughts versus Isabelle’s thoughts on kids, but we never see them actually being pregnant, which would have been nice to see Jeremy get his happy ending and Isabelle become a mother.
Overall, I did enjoy this book as it was an easy read, and I look forward to reading more books by this author!
I received this as an ARC for my honest review! Thank you Alycia for sending me this book, I can’t wait to buy the paperback to add it to my shelf.
I received this ARC to leave my honest review which you will find below.
The Inspiration follows Isabelle (Izzy) and Jeremy who are high school sweethearts navigate the baby talk after being married three years and that being "their next step".
The thoughts I have to immediately get out of my head are:
1. Man oh man, Izzy was lucky in the bedroom for Jeremy being her high school sweetheart (together since 10th grade). I mean 🔥 bedroom scenes throughout the story without being a book entirely full of spice.
2. The first quote that spoke volumes to me was: "I feel like my to-do list never ends inside my head." Full time working mother of three kids 6 and under and I thought Alycia was in my head. Also the first paragraph of chapter 31, why can't we just relax?! 😂
3. The. Whip. Cream. 😍😍😍😍
There were so many things that I loved about Izzy, she knew she wasn't ready and wanted to move further in her career before jumping into parenthood. While she wasn't completely honest with Jeremy about her wishes she was trying to make it know through multiple conversations so I was happy Jeremy wasn't pissed at her. I also loved how Jeremy took the time to think about things from Izzy's perspective and came around to knowing she wasn't ready at that moment in their lives.
Honestly if I finish a book it's a 4/5 star rating for me. This is getting a 4 star review because I thought the big bad was going to be involved early on. Like my notes for chapter 11 make note of it. 😅 But I also have a degree in Criminal Justice so that might be a factor. This is also my first title by Alycia and I made notes that I hope there will be a book for Allison and Ilene, but after finishing the book I'm thinking Allison's book is already released since Ilene's is the third book! So I'm super excited to continue on with these characters.
All in all, The Inspiration was a light and quick read that you will enjoy! ❤️
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is a light and straightforward read. It is the second book in a series but can be enjoyed as a standalone. I haven't read the first one, but since the characters from the first book are constantly mentioned, you might want to start with it to avoid possible spoilers.
I liked Isabelle's character here; she is strong and knows how to stand up for those who need someone on their side. Meanwhile, Jeremy is not very likable to me. He is too much of a mama's boy, to the point that he doesn't see that his mother could be overbearing.
Although the plot was good, I think it lacked a bit in storytelling. I felt like I was deprived of backstories that would have been a nice addition to the novel. I thought it would have been better to include those instead of the Beau story, which seemed out of place. Josie's story was okay, as I think it helped in Jeremy's growth.
Thank you Alycia for the digital arc in exchange for an honest review. Everything in this review has been written willing fully.
Since I read a proof copy of the book any grammatical errors did not impact the rating.

My Rating and Spice Scale:
5⭐ The book is perfect! I love everything about it 4.5⭐ I love the book and would highly recommend it. There might still be something small that I want from the book 4⭐It was entertaining. Not perfect but it hooked me big time. I would recommend it to anyone 3.5⭐ I liked the book but I have issues with some things. I would recommend it to those who enjoys the specific genre, writing style or author 3⭐ A not so bad book. I neither disliked or liked the book. It just didn't connect with me. I would recommend with reservations 2⭐ I had a hard time finishing the book. It's not for me and wouldn't recommend it 1⭐ I don't like it at all and would not recommend
This book was absolutely something that ALL couples could relate to! This was a wonderful easy afternoon read! The one thing that kept me pulled in was the relatability of the situation.
Jeremy was a dream man 🥵🥰 if you had hallmark and magic Mike together and had a baby, it would be Jeremy. He was so patient and kind. Seeing his growth as a character was beautiful.
Izzy was so spunky! She was so relatable, driven, independent (unless with Jeremy in the bed, shower, and you know 😜🤤). Having a strong female is always wonderful to see, I love having a dependent female lead but having a boss ass babe is always a fun twist!
Seeing things in a different perspective is always difficult but when the full circle comes around it really is a smack to the face. Having both MC see the others view shows just how marriage is supposed to work. You have to meet in the middle and see from the other’s perspective.
The plot twist was a little subtle, part of me was expecting it but it was still very very enjoyable to see everyone put their heads together and work it out. It felt like I had been at the desk with Jared and Jeremy. I really hope those men got their promotions! And then Beaux, lord help him 😂🤦🏻♀️ I’ll leave it at that.
Over all this was a sweet read and filled my heart with all the love. I give this 3.5🌟I wish Jeremy and Izzy a wonderful time on their next adventure and hope all their dreams come true! Thank you for the opportunity to read your baby! I look forward to the next one!
This is something on the sweeter side of spicy, but I promise that “The Inspiration” by Alycia Carosella delivers.
My thoughts:
This is a sweetly-spiced tale of soulmates at first sight. The Inspiration, is truly that, an inspiration. Who wouldn’t want to meet the love of their life and still be head over heels in love a decade later?
Get ready to dive into a sizzling tale of love, commitment, and the art of keeping things spicy! Join Isabelle and Jeremy on their journey as they conquer the challenges of busy careers, meddling in-laws, and every day family dysfunction. Don't worry, they never forget to prioritize each other, making every moment count. From playful escapades to simple acts of heartwarming moments. They embrace all the good moments that come their way or that they can creat themselves.
This wonderful journey depicts how relationships require work, dedication, loyalty, communication, and comprehension. That even if you and your partner are in two different points in your life after being together so long, it doesn’t mean it’s the end. You just need to decide together that you’ll face whatever comes as a team. Patience can be rewarding if you give it a chance. I hope you you enjoy this book and its lessons, and maybe find clarity for your own life or even some spicy tidbits you want to try out. Either way enjoy!
*ARC REVIEW* This is the second book in the Worth the Wait series.
We follow Isabelle and Jeremy now married high school sweethearts, she is a nurse and he is a cop. Two careers that are demanding and which neither want to give up just yet to start a family.
I enjoyed this book because it’s a what happens after their HEA?! I enjoyed the romance and spice between Izzy and Jeremy, it’s obvious they are not lacking in that department, they deal with the choice of having children and a MIL that is putting pressure on them. Love how supportive Jeremy is towards Izzy and vice versa.
Izzy’s backstory is sad but happy that Jeremy’s family took her in as part of theirs. I love how close Izzy is with Jeremy’s sister Josie and how protective she is of her and close to her friends Allison and Ilene (Allison’s story is a fun read as well check out The Reason book 1), and how close she is with her bffs children.
I like how the storyline with Jeremy’s case and Izzy’s new nurse Beau connected, I kinda had an idea early in of who Beau really was but overall enjoyed it. He was just a bit sus!
I wanted to slap up Janet for being so nosy and putting pressure on them to have a baby and how cruel she was with Josie! 🤦🏻♀️
Not gonna lie I wanted more at the end, maybe Izzy getting preggers and having twins or something….so hoping for a novella on that 😁
Overall great read for me and can’t wait for book 3 and Dexters POV novella.
Thank You Alycia for the ARC!!

First, thanks to Alycia Carosella for selecting me for your ARC team! I am Uber appreciative!
Now for the story - I struggled to get into it and even finish it. It was very, very repetitive - he wants kids, she doesn’t. But the lying amongst one another, I struggle with that as a trope. I’m big on honesty, so to read about how our main characters, Jeremy and Isabelle (or Izzy), constantly kept each other in the dark about a pretty impactful topic (kids) was rough for me. It also felt incredibly immature for a marriage of 3 years. Your spouse should be the one you share with, so I struggled with this plot line.
On top of that, it felt as though a lot of the writing was forced or didn’t flow so neatly. It was as though the author was trying to make the characters so believable and real that it went the opposite direction.
Overall, the storyline had promise. It really does have some good pieces in it (a strong FMC), and I’m sure it’ll be a successful book for those who enjoy the trope, but I wasn’t a mega fan of how it was all carried out. It felt juvenile. There were also quite a few grammatical errors, which makes reading a book harder, but it wasn’t so atrocious I couldn’t read.
Hoping the author has great success because there’s definitely people out there that enjoy the lying and secrets trope… it just isn’t me!
Thanks again, Alycia!

Overall I enjoyed this book. The main story line was more realistic than it is in some other books, which I feel makes it easier to relate to. I also liked how there multiple story lines within the plot (the main story line obviously being Jeremy wanting a baby, while Isabelle wasn’t ready for one, with secondary story lines of Josie’s broken relationship with her mother and the drug bust that Jeremy was dealing with for work), and that each of them got resolved. Parts of the story felt a bit repetitive and predictable, but for the most part, I didn’t mind. I love that Allison’s kids are named Atticus and Scout, because To Kill A Mockingbird is one of my favorite books. The author set the tone with the spice right at the beginning of the story, and it continued throughout the whole book. One thing I liked about the spice was the short masturbation scene with Isabelle, as that is something that I haven’t come across much throughout the books I’ve read. There were several gramatical and punctuation errors, but that’s to be expected in an early version of a book. I am really glad that I got to be a part of this ARC team, and I look forward to reading the other 2 books in the series (1 of which is already published.

This books follows a nurse practitioner called Isabelle and her husband police officer Jeremy.
They have been together since the 10th grade of high school and have been married for the past 3 years. Jeremy is believing they are ready for their next stage of their relationship, trying for a baby, but they are on different pages. Izzy has been wanting to go back to school for the next stage in her career and Jeremy lands the Opportunity to progress in his.
Before I go into the review I would like to thank the author for sending me the Advanced Reader Copy. This book was good and I enjoyed it thoroughly, even managing to finish it in one day, I found a few mistakes along the way of reading but this is to be expected for a books that hasn’t come out yet. There were parts of the book that enticed me to keep reading. The plot twist for the book I could see coming but that’s not going to be the case for everyone. I believe that Alycia is a very talented writer and knows how to keep her audience engrossed in the story. HEA books are always my favourite ❤️
The Inspiration by Alycia Carosella is the book for you if you need a little spice in your life. When I am really enjoying a book, I will finish it in a day or two and for the past few months, I have not been able to do that. This book will change that - I sat down and completely lost track of time and read the first twenty chapters in one setting. Following along with Jeremy & Isabelle's relationship as high school sweethearts is definitely the spark in the book that keeps you reading but secrets come between them and so do new people. Between relationships, a little bit of family drama and the birth of a baby follow along and fall in love with the characters who are sorting out their lives and futures while also solving crime and helping siblings. Throughout the story, the main characters, Jeremy and Isabelle are caught keeping secrets from each other and thankfully in the epilogue, we learn that they are on the same page and hopefully there will be a third book in the series to see where life continues to take them!
Let me say I was giving an ARC for my honest review about this book.
The book started slow for me. I like the two main characters, but I felt Jeremy was portrayed as a lovey dupey guy, especially for being a cop, tough in his job, and rough in bed. Honestly no guys 100% is always talking like he is, mostly girls do, IMO.
There is a lot of misspelled words and unorganized sentences that make reading the book annoying and unpleasant because I had to read some paragraphs again, because I will think a character was talking when in reality it was another. The book has potential if the editing was more thought out before finishing the final product. The writer, though, wrote on her page that she is an unorganized writer, and she doesn't care about that.
I like the ending of the book. It took me a bit to read it because I wasn't getting into it. The more the story developed and actually something was happening it was easier to read and to enjoy. The ending was fine to me regardless if they had a baby or not at the end after all that baby talk.

This book is LITERALLY SPICYYYYYYYYYYY and STEAMYYYY!!! OOOOOOOOOOF, the sex scene I swear by chef kiss*. I really like how suspense in there. It is romance vibe but lot of sex secene and talk dirty.
I really like Jeremy so much! He is so sweet, caring, kind, and smart. He is police officer as detective. His wife Isabelle aka Izzy, is a nurse. I dislike how Jeremy and Izzu lies to each others about pregnancy and having babies. That is where it throw me off but the story plot is not bad and some confusion and it almost revealed who is suspect is.
I think you should add background history about Izzy's grandmother, how they met, what happened between him and Ilene, and etc. That will helps reader to understand what happen current in moment.
I would recommend to my friends and people of this book. I think you are awesome author and I wish you nothing but the best also your success! I wanted to say thank you for giving me a opportunity ARC to able read this and give you honest reviews/feedback.
This book was a Four star for me, I loved this book, the only reason it got four stars and not higher is because in the dialogue sometimes you couldn’t tell who was saying the sentence and we didn’t get to see them be parents.
I loved Isabelle, she knew what she wanted and she was determined to get it. I felt like Jeremy was cringe at times, calling her “love of my life” a lot was one of the reasons.
The love they have for each other was just amazing, it made me wish I had that, I loved them together. The spice was great in my opinion, they were like rabbits haha. I think it had the right amount, I honestly was not expecting it, I was caught off guard with all the spicy scenes at the beginning haha, they were amazing tho ! One of my favorite parts was when Jeremy took her to the store for halloween decorations, like how cute ! The little details definitely pulled this book together. Definitely recommend reading ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
I think Alycia Carosella is an amazing writer and I can’t wait to read more of her books !
