The Chemist

Rate this book
Judy Noland, the newest chemist at Atomic City, prefers to blend in with the furniture and remain as unobtrusive as possible, but her supervisor has other ideas in mind. She’s managed to work solo until he sends her office mate, the handsome Ray Collins, also a chemist, to work on a joint project. With painful memories and a dislike for men, can Judy work with this man with the kind eyes? Is he as genuine as he seems? Or will he turn on her like all the rest? She’s the most beautiful woman Ray Collins has ever seen, but Judy Noland keeps to herself. It’s probably for the best. If she ever found out the truth about him, she probably wouldn’t want to be around him. His past would likely come back to haunt him. Ray’s priority is ensuring Judy Noland accomplishes the chemical formulas she was hired to develop. The general wants them implemented soon. And every time Ray’s heart races when Judy lifts her gorgeous chocolate gaze to his? He must ignore it and remember to simply accomplish the task. Right?

I loved this story! It was sweet, and I really like the main characters, Judy Noland and Raymond Collins. I felt bad for what they had gone through in the past, especially for Judy, but I'm glad that even though they went through what they did, they still found Christ.
Though (and this may be a bit spoilerish), it was said that a character had "entertained" her father's and brother's clients and that someone did something bad to her without her consent, so while it being implied or barely mentioned didn't bother me much, but it might someone else.

But anyways, I absolutely recommend this!!

Loved Ray and Judy's story!! Judy is staying to herself since she arrived to work at Atomic City. Ray's noticed her, though, and is drawn to her. When an opportunity arises for him to ask her to coffee, he's pleasantly surprised when she's says yes. Their friendship starts, though he knows that if she knew his background, she'd walk away. Judy doesn't anyone, men in particular. However, she's drawn to Ray, and realizes that he's different from the other men she's known. When she asks him why, he tells her it's because he's a Christian, and it's Christ in him that makes him different. The more time they spend together at work and outside of work, the more Ray realizes he's in love with Judy. Judy also is falling for Ray. When Judy's life is threatened, will Ray be able to save her? Such a great book!! And, I LOVE how Ray witnesses to Judy!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
