Francie finds life in her large family difficult sometimes and getting the dreaded Sister Ursula as her second grade teacher does not help, but making a new friend and working on the class play do
This book shows that every part counts and that every student is important, which sometimes needs to be heard in the classroom. However, one point that I did not like about this book is that Francie's friend really wanted the main part, but gave it to Francie so Francie would feel important. I feel that was true friendship for her to give up what she worked so hard for just because her friend had low self-esteem.
