I haven't exactly "read" this so much as am skimming through it for information on a specific topic, but oh my goodness, the illustrations!

It was published the year I graduated from HS, so I missed encountering it in the upper elementary or Jr high years, for which I'd say it was eminently suitable.

Lots of white space, line drawings on seemingly every page, diagrams and back matter... Whoever McLoughlin is, he knew how to put a book together.

4 stars instead of 5 only because it's now necessarily a little outdated. But what a jewel!
