I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the first book of the author's that I've read and I wouldn't mind reading more from her, which is why I rounded up my rating. This is the first book in The Capital Media Series and can be read as a standalone. The book's blurb gives you an idea of what to expect, though be aware the story deals with anxiety, anger issues, and panic attacks. Love Me in Color is told through Blake's pov and is about her finding a love that changes her.
For years, Blake has made work her priority. Her past relationship didn't end well and she's put all her time and effort into her work. When her team lands an important opportunity, she's driven more than ever to succeed. However, having to working with her ex and current casual partner is going to prove to be a challenge. To complicate things, she meets someone that makes her want to approach dating differently. As she balances her love life and work, she begins to think more about how she's been living her life.
There is more than one love interest and, while readers may have their guesses about who Blake ends up with, it really is a journey to find out who she will choose. However, more importantly, the story is about Blake learning what she truly wanted from her life. Even when her decisions aren't ones that readers will root for, her thoughts about why she took those actions make sense. The romance is a closed door slow burn consisting of descriptive kissing, mentions of physical intimacy, and some mild language. Aside from the romance, the friendships that Blake had are a highlight of the story. Sometimes the writing felt too descriptive and wordy but I did like the concept of the story and think it's worth a try.
