Rocky Lake Littles #2

Coffee & Cuffs

Rate this book
Sam Stewart, manager of Rocky Lake Coffeehouse, bisexual little and pretty princess, has been searching for a Daddy at every opportunity. Living in Rocky Lake, Arizona, has been a refreshing change from the cold house he’d grown up in. He’s found wonderful friends and is happy for the first time in his life. He’s left the life of privilege and secrets behind to forge ahead on his own. Only six weeks into his new position as the head of the narcotics division for Rocky Lake Police Department, Lieutenant Carson Cirillo is facing a formable opponent that has already gotten away from him once. An attack on the employees of the Rocky Lake Coffeehouse not only thrusts Carson into the middle of a dangerous investigation but makes him face a past he thought he’d buried for good. With Sam trying to recover from an attack, Carson attempting to protect Sam, and both men’s pasts coming back, it seems like everything is against the two men finding happiness together. But when you have a determined Daddy and a sassy little willing to go into battle for each other, their foes should be worried.

This book contains MM sexual content (men having sex with each other), Age Play, Daddy/little relationship, ABDL, and age gap relations. This book is an exploration of a relationship between two (male) consensual adults that are looking for love and acceptance. All characters are over the age of consent. No cheating or cliffhangers.

Book safety, content warnings, and tropes & tags down below.

Sam pouted and Carson knew if he wasn’t careful, his beautiful boy would have him wrapped around his finger soon enough.

I kinda forgot to write this review for a while, so I might be a little short on thoughts. I was really excited about this book after reading the first one in the series, Coffee & Kisses. Although I didn’t love this *as* much, I still enjoyed it a lot. It definitely had some hurt/comfort vibes (which I always enjoy), but in this one, the Daddy needed some comfort as well, which I think is a lovely change from the ‘norm’.

Leaning forward, Carson kissed Sam sweetly like he hadn’t just ravaged Sam like a madman.

The Little, Sam, is a precious and fabulous character. He is very capable and independent when he’s big, and he loves hosting fancy tea parties when he’s Little. Little or Big though, he’s always well-dressed, often in cute skirts and blouses, or even dresses. The other MC is super encouraging and supportive, and you just love to see it. It has quite a large age gap (would have to check for specifics), but I think it was closing in on 30 years. That’s usually pushing my limit on age gaps pretty hard, but it was hardly mentioned and it really didn’t *feel* like that many years. Do with that what you will, lol.

I would recommend reading book 1 first, but probably not strictly necessary.

That was it? He’d been hit in the face with a gun and all he got was some pain pills and sent home? That was anticlimactic.

Caden was growing more confident every day with the support of Lincoln, but his trauma didn’t go away just because he was happy.

Loved it

Love the second book in this series. It took me an embarrassingly long time to connect Jackson and Skinner to Steller's Daddy's boys series but I was so happy when I finally connected the dots! I love that series, and I love this one too, but I'm most excited for Adams book!

Honestly? I liked the first book a lot more than I did this one, but there is a reason! I know it was cute... I know it works in the story... but, every time I read the nickname "baby doll" it was like hearing fingernails scratching down a chalkboard... I realize this is totally a ME problem! 🤦‍♀️😭🤷‍♀️

As for Carson and Sam, the dynamic of their relationship was spot on! I loved that Carson not only appreciated Sam's style of dress but was actually great at picking out excellent outfits!!!

And, Sam's dad is an A$$!!! 🤬🤬🤬

Ok, I am going to leave this here, just because...

Now, I can finally move on to Adam's story and see what he, Nash and Lucas are getting up to in Coffee, Cops, and Tattoos!!!

I enjoyed this story as we learnt more about Sam and his past as well as learn all about Carson and the kind of Daddy he is. It was great to see the way that Carson was prepared to do whatever it took to protect Sam and make sure that he was properly recovered from the physical effects of the attack. Some touching looks at history and moving on from it. I will just say this - Sam's father is a nasty evil man. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a DDLB dynamic with diapers.

This is the 2nd in the Rocky Lake Littles series, it follows, three boys who work in the Rocky Lake Coffee House. We read Caden and Lincoln's story in the first. This story is Sam and Carson's. Carson Cirillo is the captain of the police in the small town of Rocky Lake, a LGBTQ+ welcoming town in Nevada. He is previously from Las Vegas, and has a heart breaking past, concerning the same drug lord, from the first book. Sam is the manager at Rocky Lake Coffee Shop, but has been hiding a secret of his own. I really like these stories, the characters are so vulnerable, but find their strength in each other, and become a strong family. All the side characters are well developed and help to build the story as well. I love how much this town supports each other, and creates a true safe space...only in fiction...right?

Kept Me Reading

In Coffee & Cuffs, the MCs are Sam and Carson. Sam is a Senator’s son. His father is a very conservative, abusive, man. After graduating high school Sam ran away where he lived with his grandmother for a while and then moved to Rocky Lake. Carson is the Lieutenant of the police department, narcotics division. He moved to Rocky Lake after losing his boyfriend because of a drug overdose. Part of that problem was from the cartel and now they have once again entered into the new town he lives in. Athena Stellar has done an amazing job with the characters and their relationship, friendship, and their story. Because everyone has a story whether it’s big or small. This book gets 5 stars ⭐️💜

The cop and the princess

The storyline continues in the second book of this series and we get to delve a little deeper into the backgrounds of our MCs. This book focuses on Sam and his estrangement from his toxic family. I was really surprised that it was the police lieutenant who swooped in to steal the heart of the resident princess, and yet they were utterly perfect together! I'm really looking forward to Adam's story in the next book and I have to admit to being a bit addicted to this series already. Athena Steller is an automatic one-click for me and I can't recommend her books enough. Daddy/boy dynamics at their best! So good!

Another terrific book by Athena Steller! I loved Sam so much and so glad that he was okay after being hurt by the cartel. Carson was cold at first based on his painful past with his boy who died from a drug overdose but so glad that he recognized that Sam was the boy he had been looking for. I love Sam friends and looking forward to Adam's story and definitely looking forward to the mysterious Jackson who was so helpful with getting Sam's hateful father to back off and killed the horrible Victor Munoz.

Sam manages the Rocky Lake Coffee house considers himself a bisexual princess. He is very protective of his fellow workers and friends Adam and Caden. Sam gets injured when crime comes to the coffee house and he meets Lieutenant Carson, who is investigating the crime and its criminals. A nice twist in the story as we learn more about Sam is his past and his evil father. Sam sets his sights on Carson and emotions explode into passions. This story is smoothly written, feel good and HEA. A Dd/lb with mature content.

Hmm, this one was nice. I quite preferred the action scene in the first book, but this one had its moments as well. Sam was an okay character. He was a pretty princess. I think Carson was perfect for him. They were both responsible and mature.

Sam was quite an independent guy, compared to Caden. I learned that I liked a more vulnerable character for my little. I did appreciate Sam's caretaker role in the group. I think they balanced each other well.

I can't wait to read Adam's story. I hope I'd like it.

Good

Ok, I’ll admit not as good as Lincoln and Caden’s book, which was adorable, but still a good read. I think I was expecting just a bit more. I wanted to see more of Sam’s little Princess side, and I also found it hard to connect the 2MC’s together. Maybe it was the age gap there, didn’t expect the LT to be quite that old. Still enjoyed it though and loved the new addition of Mickey, means more books to follow then just Adam’s!

Sweet story

Princess Sam finally gets the daddy of his dreams Carson.
Sam ran away from home due to his father and settled in Rocky Lake. Making a family of his own.
Carson ran from Las Vegas after his ' boy ' was killed, and settled in Rocky Lake. Working and keeping himself to himself.
After the incident with the cartel and Sam got hurt , Carson had to be the daddy for him, keeping him safe.
With all the drama Carson does not leave Sam's side always there when he's needed

As much as it absolutely pains me to say this, I did not love this book. It felt pretty rushed with so many grammatical errors. I also wished that Sam and Carson spent more time in their dynamic but once again every time they were together, it was just sex.

Very disappointed but I’m still holding out hope for Adams book. There’s nothing better than a bigger Little who is sweet and cuddly.

It hurts my heart that they’re still intolerant people in the world who would hate and shame people for who they love!! Well, I love these fictitious characters and anyone can hate me for that; I don’t care one bit!!! Sam and Carson deserve to be happily together forever! They have a great open and honest relationship! I love that Carson is older but still needs his baby doll!! Can’t wait for Adam’s story!!!

4 stars…
Enjoyed this but def liked Caden and Lincoln’s story more than Carson and Sam’s. Liked the cameos of the other book characters helping the boys and liked learning about Sam’s past but I felt like I wanted more of his dads drama and less cartel stuff.

2/5 on spice. 2/5 on kink. 1/5 on tears. I think I’m becoming more and more immune to kink 💀

Sam and Daddy Carson

I love books that are part of a series with recurring characters. This one still has the cartel trying to get to the boys but also Sam's father gets to cause him problems. Thankfully Sam and the Lt. figure out their problems and get together. It will be fun to read Adam's story next. I bet it will be just as exciting as the first two books in the series.

Good but has inconsistencies

The story as a whole is great. I loved seeing a different version of the daddy/boy relationship. However, there were minor inconsistencies and lost plot points in this book and the 1st one that brought me out of the story. I gave it a 4 because I did love the story, but I'd say this is more of a 3.5 story

Coffee and Cuffs

This is the second book in the series and I really enjoyed getting to know Sam and Carson better! Sam has an ugly past that is catching up with him, and Carson is determined to protect and nurture him. They each really seem to grow as their relationship progresses, and they fall truly in love and eventually get their HEA.

The age gap is so insane in this book I just mentally aged down the male lead by 20 years lol. Also I’m still so confused why someone who’s worried that people are after him (his dad and the cartel) would be confused why a black van is following him and think he can’t be special enough for it to matter. That was just really odd to me and made Sam seem really dumb.

So many editing errors and Jackson and Skinner’s introduction was confusing and terrible. I’d already read their books but it’d been so long that I’d forgotten who they were, and their introduction to Sam and the boys was edited terribly. It skipped things and…ugh. The story was fine, loved the boys and new Mickey, but the editing errors really annoyed me.

Another great read by this author. I loved the sassy Sam and his new daddy Carson. The story follows along the previous book but with a new couple. Can’t wait for the next book and I did notice a new boy who will also need a story please!!

LOVED IT!!!

I love this new series. I can’t wait for Adam and Mickey’s story. The characters in the series face real setbacks and triumphs. I also love that the author brings back her other characters from past series. A definite read.

Awesome read.

I wanted to know more about Sam. I also wanted to get to know Carson. I found out I missed a couple of books so I need to go back to the Daddy’s Boy series. I can’t wait to get Adam’s story but until then I’ll check out Skinner’s.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed Sam and Carson’s story. It’s sweet, fun, mildly angsty, and the continuing storyline from book1 is interesting. I’m not sure whose upcoming story I’m looking forward to more, Adam’s or Jackson’s.

Taking it back.

Carson is the lieutenant of the fore that responded to the assault at the coffee shop. He is drawn to Sam. They help each other tack back their power as they find love.

I really liked the dynamic between Sam and Carson. I wasn’t a fan of how Carson avoided Sam for a month after the coffee shop incident. He still texted but it didn’t feel very Daddy-like. I liked seeing Skinner and z Jackson. Mickey is a great addition and I’m dying for Adam’s book!

Nice Addition to Series

I enjoyed the story and was excited to see the MCs connect and relationship grow. I liked how past characters have a way of making themselves known throughout different books. I liked seeing Skinner and Jackson. I am looking forward to the next book.
