Gangsters paradise #4

Diamond Desire: A Forced Proximity R.H Romantic Suspense Series

Rate this book
Like a mouse in a trap, my stalker has caught me at last. I'm captive in her dungeon, prime to participate in maniacal games I want no part of. And despite how much I want to fight, I know it's only a matter of time before things end badly for me. They're already turning that way. A man I love is dead and there is nothing I can do to bring him back. No threats, fights, or luck, can change fate. I thought having my army with me, and extra forces from those I consider friends, would be enough to win. But it turns out that no matter how hard I try, the Devil tries harder. And in this case, the Devil's name is O'Malley. And she's not going to go down until one of us dies. Me or Her. Let the final game begin. This story follows the tale of twenty-year-old Sapphire Montana, who finds herself entirely alone and with no choice but to fight to keep herself alive and claim back the city that she was always destined to own. With the help of the local mechanic's boys and some friends in faraway places, she aims to take back her birthright and avenge her family. This is a why choose (with MM) dark mafia-style series, where the female main character is the one in power and her men are not. Diamond Desire is book four in the completed series of Sapphire's POV in the Red Diamonds series. Any book after book four, though labelled as the next in the series, follows a different Montana family member and can be read separately, or in publication order for a better overall story arc. You can read the other books before Sapphire's story if you wanted to do so, but this would spoil a large portion of Sapphire's story, including the identity of the main villain.

This plot for book four was a slow-paced and full of twists and everyone’s point-of-views that keep you turning pages, and while a few moments left me wanting just a bit more depth or quickness, the overall journey is gripping and satisfying. It’s the kind of book you think about long after you’ve finished and more than ready to figure out who this stalker really is and where is everyone? Are they okay? Between the Montana’s and the O’Malley’s everything is just crazy after crazy, secret after secret. All the characters are bold, complex, and impossible not to root for, and the chemistry practically leaps off the page with what’s going on with Beau? I need and am ready to find out all these answers in this last book, I’m already starting right away. Storer’s writing shines with vivid details and addictive tension, making it easy to fall headfirst into the world she’s created. This includes all the emotions, elements, and actions that Sapphire and her men are taking.

My favorite quote in this book! Chapter 9: Sapphire:

“When I die, if your God turns out to be real, then I will not repent.” … “I will make him kneel for me and beg for penance for all this — for all he has allowed to happen. To you, to me. To everyone in this world who has suffered. I will ask him what he thinks of me and why he deemed me worthy of this life.”

love this entire series!

I’m just going to say i began reading this series out of order. I started with heaven/heathers story and then started sapphires. I will say I absolutely
Ove this series and the way the characters all seem to come together. But I am definitely interested in reading more about beaus story, and rubys, and also… silver! I would also like to see more about what happens with ares and hades too.

WHAT?! Just…WHAT?! Ugh! The cliffhangers this woman puts us through are insane, but so so worth it!

This book seemed more introspective than the others, and I am okay with that. Though I wish there was a touch more badassery, I think this was necessary and by no means does it distract from the storyline.

10/10 would recommend

I love this series, these guys and Sapphire hold a special place in my heart. I loved getting to know them more, getting to know more of their backstories, with their parents, their inner demons. It makes me feel giddy seeing Saphh trust them, them learing to be completely honest with eachother and theirselves. The choice they make by being completely vulnerable and true to themselves.

Saphh is such a powerhouse of a woman, i am obsessed with her. She is the queen, she is their queen! And Linc has had it so rough in this one, my heart broke a couple of times. I am so excited for the next one, i need to know what happens with them!
