This plot for book four was a slow-paced and full of twists and everyone’s point-of-views that keep you turning pages, and while a few moments left me wanting just a bit more depth or quickness, the overall journey is gripping and satisfying. It’s the kind of book you think about long after you’ve finished and more than ready to figure out who this stalker really is and where is everyone? Are they okay? Between the Montana’s and the O’Malley’s everything is just crazy after crazy, secret after secret. All the characters are bold, complex, and impossible not to root for, and the chemistry practically leaps off the page with what’s going on with Beau? I need and am ready to find out all these answers in this last book, I’m already starting right away. Storer’s writing shines with vivid details and addictive tension, making it easy to fall headfirst into the world she’s created. This includes all the emotions, elements, and actions that Sapphire and her men are taking.
My favorite quote in this book! Chapter 9: Sapphire:
“When I die, if your God turns out to be real, then I will not repent.” … “I will make him kneel for me and beg for penance for all this — for all he has allowed to happen. To you, to me. To everyone in this world who has suffered. I will ask him what he thinks of me and why he deemed me worthy of this life.”
