Dreams of Family and Hopes of Career Satisfaction Fulfilled with Love
Sometimes, as much as parents love their child and the child returns the parents’ love, the loving relationship can be fraught with tension and frustrations. Certainly, Rose Faraday loved her parents, but she realized that no amount of love on her part would convince her parents that she should not move back to the family home and business on the East Coast. For the loving daughter, remaining on the East Coast, while fulfilling her dad’s dreams of generationally continuing the family’s business, would mean giving up her own dreams and aspirations of becoming a fashion designer. She refused to become the PA and CEO in training for her current CEO dad. As much as she loved her parents and wished to please them, she could not bury her dreams to fulfill the dynastic business dreams of her family.
So, Rose fled to the West Coast, to California, to LA where she turned to her cousin Chloe for help and support until she was able to follow her own business dreams. Cousin Chloe, following the death of her own wealthy father, had intentionally relocated far from the East Coast family. And now, she was living her best life off of her father’s wealth and hard work. And so, the cousins sharing the desire to step away from the family businesses, also shared the family coloring of dark blonde hair and pale blue eyes. Where the girls were distinguished from each other was physical size—Rose was taller and less curvy than her cousin, Chloe.
And, the girls also differed in their life goals—Chloe was happy sailing through life on her inherited wealth from dad while Rose, who had no desire to take a role in the family business, also did not wish to merely live off of her family wealth. Rose’s dreams and professional goals were to establish her own fashion design business. She loved design and fabrics and wanted to share her visions of fashion with her future clients. But first, she needed to find work to build the financial capital needed to buy fabrics, and eventually, to rent a small space where she could translate her style visions into wearable garments.
So, when Chloe decides to travel with her new boyfriend, cousin Chloe asks Rose to manage the house while she is gone, and by house-sitting, provide Rose housing as the aspiring designer searched for a job to provide the capital to finance her fashion dreams. And, both cousins don’t anticipate any concerning issues during the house-sitting gig—the house’s location in an exclusive gated community with a strong HOA and clearly established rules for homeowner behavior, seemed to promise a quiet house-sitting gig.
And Rose appreciates greatly the house-sitting gig which alleviates the need to seek alternative housing, and saving her money. And, when Rose happily learns that she has been selected to fill in as PA for a successful CEO of a leading real estate development firm—the very role she would have filled for her own dad’s company. Now, with a place to stay and a well-paying job that would last for a year—the term of the maternity leave of the current PA—life was looking up.
The only shadow in Rose’s world is the irritating homeowner of the property adjacent to her cousin’s house. Only separated by hedges—which may provide a visual block but was unable to block sound, the house-sitting Rose discovers that the next-door neighbor, unfortunately, spends his evening hours hammering and sawing, obviously engaged in noisily deconstructing and reconstructing his property.
So, for Rose who does her best to ignore the riotously loud sounds reaches a breaking point when her texts and phone calls only seem to ratchet up the noise levels in direct violation of the community HOA rules. And so, she declares war after pushing and climbing her way through the hedges from Chloe’s place to the irritating neighbor’s residence.
And, while she is unable to lower the volume from the neighbor, she unintentionally, in the heat of her anger and the almost instant attraction, raises the temperature between the warring houses. And, when she discovers on the first day of her year-long PA temp position that the irritating neighbor is her new CEO boss, the temperature at work quickly his combustible levels.

Rose Faraday is a no nonsense, bold, and determined woman who wants to get her life back on track. She wants to create her own fashion line, her own business, to prove to her family, to everyone, that she's not having the worst luck. She ends up house-sitting her rich cousin's LA home while she looks for a job. And argues literally with the attractive next door neighbor as he renovates his home. She's also grumpy.
Simon Chaucer is a chef by trade. But since his Dad passed away, he's had to take over the family resort/vacation business. He's not happy. He's a little grumpy. He doesn't like where his life has headed. And his sassy next door neighbor has arrived to yell about the noise.
These two get in each other's faces huffing and puffing. Trying to use sharp wits and... boom. The lust fire happens fast. It happens quick.🔥🔥🔥 Sidenote: This seemed a bit unrealistic to me. In this day and age, let's talk about safe sex first. But I understand it's fantasy.😄 But building up to that moment is good too. Okay moving on. The new job Rose gets happens to be with, you guessed it, Simon. What to do? How can they fight the attraction, work together, and not let everyone know? They do eventually build that emotional connection as they lean on one another and support each other through sharing and finding common ground. They also shared their insecurities and wanting to be happy in their lives. Real talk. I was happy to read that. He opens his heart/feelings before she does. A nice change. I really think he's the softie of the pair.😊 But is that enough? A misunderstanding ensues. There is heartbreak. Will they find their way back to each other again? When Simon first meets Rose, he has an instant attraction to the little spitfire.....Hate sex is the best he decides after she climbs over his hedge to give him a piece of her mind when he continues to do his home improvements into the late evening....As feelings develop between Rose and Simon, they decide to take their attraction further and see where it leads and decide to go on a date. The date never happens!!
Rose starts a new job, and not meeting her new boss for the first 2 weeks, she is surprised her neighbour, Simon is her CEO boss. All their plans of developing a relationship diminish as it is forbidden in the office to have a relationship with another staff member.
They struggle with this new dynamic as both have developed deep feelings for one another.
Rose decides to try her hand at her start up in the fashion business, with her cousin helping with the finances. With the decision made and her 2 weeks notice given, Both Simon and Rose are excited that she no longer works for him and they can continue to explore their relationship.
Secrets are held and result in Rose running away. She cannot let Simon know her secret and Simon is at a loss as to what he did wrong to make Rose run from him. Do they find their way back to each other, and what was so hard for Rose to tell Simon?
A great romance with plenty of angst and twists in the story to keep you interested. An enjoyable read and ends with a HEA.

I thought this was a very enjoyable read, I loved the main characters and the story flowed really well.
Rose moves in with her cousin in Bel air to housesit while her cousin travels around Europe. She doesn’t want to move back home to her family and is determined to launch her fashion business.
Simon is the next door neighbour and is renovating her home. Rose is angry after work noise wakes her up very early in the morning. She storms round and confronts him but that anger turns to lust and they can’t keep their hands to themselves. They start seeing each other but they don’t realise he is her boss.
Throw in an unplanned pregnancy and other obstacles for the couple. Will anything stop them from having their HEA?
This book has a few steamy moments. I would definitely recommend and would read more from this author.

WOW, WOW, WOW. This book is so good that I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I thought that Ava really outdid herself on this book and it was perfect. Rose is trying to start her own business up in LA as a fashion designer, but she is down on her luck. Simon is the CEO of his dad's company and hates it because he would rather be a chef. Rose moves into her cousin Chloe's house why she is out of the country and meets Simon who is the next-door neighbor. Let's just say that they didn't hit it off at first, but then things start to change. I am not giving any spoilers away, but this book has it all. Friendship, Love and finally a Happy Ever After. I thought the ending is a perfect ending to a perfect book.

Simon and Rose's Love Story

Rose Faraday is a young woman with a dream to open her own fashion company. She left home and moved to LA to chase the dream. She agreed to housesit for her wealthy cousin while looking for a job to save money to fulfill her dream.
Simon is doing his own renovations on his mansion, annoying Rose as he starts at 5 am. They meet, fight, and have very hot hate sex very quickly.
They are immediately attracted to each other, but then Rose meets her new boss - Simon. They try to stay apart, unsuccessfully.
Their story becomes very complicated, with Rose acting irrationally.
For the most part, I enjoyed the book.

Spoilers! This story started out well written, hilarious and laugh out loud steamy. Simon and Rose were the perfect foil for each other and I really loved the characters. Then the ending: Another one of those she's pregnant and decides not to tell him, leaves him, has the baby, couple years later sees him again and he asks her to marry him. All because she heard an argument between him and his mother about how he was tired of his mom telling him what to do and when to do it and that she couldn’t force him to get married and give her grand babies. Worst ending ever. Such an exciting wonderful read until the very disappointing ending.

This was such a great story and storyline that flows throughout the book and you will definitely fall in love with Rose And Simon. Rose moves to LA to try to start a new career but ends up house sitting for her cousin . A noisy neighbor makes her mad aka Simon but when she finds out he is her boss can they find away to get along with each other? Simon took over his father's company and not really interested being the ceo so when he meets a spunky fiery Rose can they both their happiness in each other?.

Rose housesits for a cousin and gets into it with Simon, the next door neighbor who is renovating. Their back and forth sass and banter hits a peak when they start to sizzle. What a wake up call when the next day she finds out he is her new boss at the resort. Characters are well done, storyline flows pretty well and there is a lot of drama, miscommunication, secrets, revelations, entertaining situations and bumps in the road. Loved their chemistry and how they worked together to conquer the issues. Great ending.

I really enjoyed reading Rose and Simon's love story! They were fiery and spicy right from the get go!I really enjoyed getting to know them better and seeing them grow as a couple throughout the book. I found both Simon and Rose very likeable and could tell that they both really liked each other and wanted to be together right from the start. They have a good dynamic and there was some great spice in this story!.

This is an enemies to lovers, off limits romance between Rose and her new neighbor and boss, Simon. These two likeable souls and the unique plot make for an interesting read. It is a love story with drama and steam, sexual tension and chemistry, and twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. An engaging page turner.

The first 80% of this books is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!! Words don’t describe the love and happiness and heartfelt words and amazing imagery that played in my minds’ eye as I traveled through this book to California. The last 20% made me dislike the lack of communication and lost moments or events. Ughhhh Simon deserved so much more. I don’t hate Rose, but I hate the choices she made! 💔 fyi I don’t forgive her.

A wonderful book, I loved Rose and Simon together they do nothing at first but bicker and fight like cat and dog. But that changes when he stands up for her. But you can't beat chemistry and attraction. This was a fun story that made you smile at times and I highly recommend this book.

There is good chemistry between this pair. Both are stubborn and sassy. Both have strong desires and goals about career and work. They both love a good argument, especially with each. Didn't Love or Hate
This genre is right up my alley, but unfortunately, while I didn't hate it, I also didn't love it. The timeline throughout the book was very confusing until it stated exactly how long it has gone by. Speaking of timelines, I really dislike when years have gone by and the couple isn't together, it is really depressing when I'm wanting something more.

It was such a cute story 😍
I loved everything about this story until the end. I won't spoil it, but I felt the end was rushed and I felt so sad about it. Simon and Rose's story was bittersweet and I was hoping the ending would flow like the book. But instead the flow was interrupted and then rushed. SAD. Otherwise, it was a beautiful love story!

This definitely started out as an enemies to lovers story with back and forth bickering and an attraction they can't fight. It was a fun storyline to read and the chemistry just got stronger as the book went on. It's a definite must-read.

This story had me hooked from the first page! Rose and Simon’s introduction was a rocky one in which Rose proved she’s a try firecracker who can handle her own. A definite must read!.

This book had we cracking up. I laughed so hard with Rose and Simon were coming back and forth when they first met. Omg and when Simon stood up for Rose with that lying piece of crap Daniel, I was so happy! I thought this book was really good.
