Nymphs of Incyssia #3

Tethered in Misery

Rate this book
People often forget what they had until it was taken away from them. For a short time, we had everything. Loving mates. Friends who adored us. Two children to care for. Life was looking up, until we fell into a downward spiral. We trusted the wrong people, letting them into our lives with little thought as to whose side they were on. Never again would we allow others in so easily, but it was too late. The damage was done, and we were stuck, trapped in the darkest parts of our minds. Cora found herself in an exhaustive hell, locked down by the need to forget. Lena hid from the world, hoping for it to end alongside her. Our mates hovered like doting vultures, wishing for a break in the gray sky, so they could pull us from our misery. However, the anguish in the air wasn’t so easily dissipated. When the time came and the blade was forged, there was only one thing left to save what was rightfully ours. Would we succeed and be whole once more, or would they flee with our precious bundles, raising them in a world we despised? This is a why-choose, dark romance with FF and MM that follows twin sisters, Cora and Lena. All CW’s can be found at sullynshaw.com.

When an author writes so well that it feels like she took your exact feelings and put them on the page it's magic. Tethered In Misery will sink its claws into you and never let go. I don't do spoilers, but this installment in The Nymphs of Incyssia series is a must read. I can't freaking wait to see where Sullyn takes us in book 4. It's safe to say that nothing is safe, and I'm here for it.

😜The water sex scene is a great reason to grab the 3rd book in this series. I’m here for it! Sign me up, forget ropes, and give me the tentacles🐙 🔥💦 The best series of the year!!!🏆

🎢Get ready for another wild ride!

The book starts 3 months after the 2nd book ended with them wondering and searching for the twins.

Being a royal water nymph, they can breathe underwater which I thought was pretty freaking cool!

With the twins missing, it takes a toll on everyone and the atmosphere just isn’t the same anymore. Lots of healing and relationships need to be worked on.

While I don’t want to give too much away. I’m happy for Cora and Andrin. I was sad about what happened with Remy. I laughed so hard when “I never thought I would see a scared Atticus. Do it again” happened. I would have loved to see the look on his face.

Again, I loved this book so much! I just can’t get enough of this series.

Thank you, Sullyn Shaw, for being on your ARC team and for the EARC! As always, my review is my opinion and thoughts. This review will be shared on my Instagram (@Alexandriavwilliams_) shortly.

Received ARC copy and omg! Another fiery and drama-filled installment to the Tethered series! Fire, despair, plenty of spice, and did someone say tentacle porn?? This series is unparalleled in it's unique mixture of tropes and just makes you want more!

The collective teams (yes teams because there's a LOT of man/woman-candy to keep track of) try to get their emotions together after everything they lost in the previous book, and oh boy is it a ride!

Cora and Lena are both battling their own demons in their own ways - Cora is trying to ignore her issues by keeping herself so busy that she doesn't have to think about them, while Lena is in a depressive funk that drives their harem crazy because they can't protect her from her own mind.

Remy is the one dealing with everything the 'best' even though she lost so much too. Her harem has their own drama but for the most part they are sitting back and watching the dumpster fire that is Corelena's harem.

And Andrin... am I absolutely obsessed? YES.

The ending has SHOCKED... I need the next book to see what happened to poor Cora! I'm shaking.

This is the third book in the series and OMG! Everyone is suffering horribly from losing the twins. It is three months later, and they are still no closer to finding them. Lena is a skeleton locked up in her room. Cora does nothing but train all hours of the day and night until sheer exhaustion makes her sleep. Everyone else is busy taking the blame and trying to figure out how to make things better in the meanwhile. The other bonded will grow closer to one another. Cora and Lena are drifting apart and not spending time with each other. Their depression is very deep. When a couple of the bonded finally break through, hopefully, things will start changing. Remy will suffer a deep loss besides her arm. They will receive help from someone they never thought they would. When the battle finally comes…the ending…OMG! Tears were rolling down my face…I sincerely hope things will change in book four…I just cannot imagine…this book will show the bonded group growing and maturing in ways they should not have had too…I seriously need the next book now~

Holy hades on a broomstick!

What the actual hell i am so torn right now! But i love it?

Man what a wild ride i loved it start to finish.

So much sorrow and loss and sadness all around confusion was there too.
Things i thought was true ended not being true for which i was glad.

And then that beast of a clifhanger oh my lanta and hades on a stick! I dont know what to feel about that.

This book will forever hold a special place in my heart the moment of Lena on her knees in the bathroom and all that it represents hit close to home and i felt very connected at that moment and nearly cried. It was beautiful in its own way!.

Eventho they working tirelessly to find the twins they also each of them tries to find their way back and heals slowly i must admit i loved that about this one slowly but surely healing alone and together!

For now i must wait for the next book anf i cant wait as i need answers and i need them now!!

My rating of this book is 8.4/10 highly recommend

This is book 3 in the series and needs to be read in order.

I was forewarned that this book was going to be the darkest - emotionally and mentally - of the series so far, I mean, just check out the title! I thought I had prepared myself….obviously not. This book starts 3 months after the cliffhanger in the last book. Those events have changed everyone involved and not in a good way! I just loved the emotion that comes through on each page and that I could feel how each character was feeling at the time with what was happening. The spice was so good, and just wait for a certain scene in a large body of water….so hot! I will warn you now though, if you thought the cliffhanger in the last book was bad, then just wait for this one…..I am not ok! This book has taboo and heavy themes, so please check your TW before reading.

Holy darkness, misery, and taboo fantasy wild ride here!!

Wow wasn’t sure how the author would top the last book but she definitely blew it out the water in this one. You can expect another insane cliffhanger making you need the next book ASAP! Be warned this one is darker and more emotional than the previous ones. Make sure you check TW if you need it. Yes you must read these books in order to fully understand the dynamics of this group and what has happened to them all at this point.

This one is hard to not to give spoilers so it needs to be on the vague side so as not to ruin it for anyone. Just know it's way more intense than previous ones and it will leave you gasping and needing the next book. So if you like a dark taboo fantasy this is the series to grab and get sucked into all the dark, spicy, crazy, and chaotic moments in this one now.

IT'S DARKEST BEFORE THE DAWN.

And you will feel the dark emotional impact from aftermath of the twins' kidnapping. Three months after the incident everyone is still struggling with trying to move on while continuing to search for any clues on where the twins have been taken to. Cora fills her days with training, training, & more training to the point of exhaustion, and Lena has gone to the other extreme, barely leaving her bed.
I feel like I can't truly articulate how I felt reading this. This was a dark emotional rollercoaster ride that made my heart ache for everything they're going through. Especially that heart clenching cliffhanger.
Don't miss out on this; it will take your emotions through the wringer, but it's worth it (and you don't want to miss spicy water scene!) and it's a quick read. You'll be hooked and before you know it, you'll be clamoring for book 4.

Raw emotions. Dark fantasy world with taboo relationships. This series is as intriguing as ever!

These characters have really been going through it. This installment of Nymphs of Incyssia really earned its title: Tethered in Misery.

Strong-willed characters going through relatable trauma. Sullyn Shaw has found a fast-paced way to write gut-wrenching trauma. I found the emotions and thoughts of the characters to be very understandable and relatable. Themes of grief and depression are written relatably.

Another heart-stopping cliffhanger. So good and I need more.

Quote: “I know all of that is true, but the thoughts are still there, blaming me.”
“Then when those thoughts pop up, tell them I said to ‘fuck off’ because they are wrong.”

The babies are here, Cora and Lena are unmerged, life is perfect.... Oh wait, it's not, the babies have been kidnapped, and Remy lost part of her forever.

This one didn't end how I wanted, nope, but I have hopes that come book 4, we will have some kind of a HEA. Will it be the one Cora, Lena, Remy, and their bonded invisioned? THAT will be known eventually I guess.

My heart is breaking at the moment. So much training, so much faith in right, and maybe was for nothing.... Those babies most of all deserve a HEA, and I hope they get it. This book will keep you guessing, sad, happy, and fustrated at times too. So many moving parts and hearts, getting on the same page we know wasn't never going to be easy.

Emotions abound in Sullyn Shaw's "Tethered in Misery"-it's a deep dive into the raw, complicated nature of grief, and it's a journey that feels so incredibly authentic. Each character's individual struggle with loss is deeply moving, their pain tangible in a way that leaves an indelible mark on your heart. Brace yourself for an ending that stuns, I mean, talk about a gut punch! Am I bruised? I need to have words with Ms. Shaw to see who hurt her, because I know who hurt me. The spice level, you ask? High enough to make you blush, but just right to keep you yearning for more. Buckle up for the next book in this series-I sense it's going to be one hell of a ride.

Get ready for Sullyn to pull your emotions in twenty directions with the third book in this series. Okay, I don't know how many directions she'll pull yours, but grab your Kleenex and comfort food, because you'll need them for some of these scenes.
Everyone deals with loss and grief differently, and this book shows how the characters are coping, and some of them aren't doing so well.
But there are funny moments and a good dose of spice.
And the cliffhanger? Holy crows...
I won't say anything else because I hate spoilers.
Read. The. Book.
You can scream with the rest of us while we wait for the finale!

Another amazing book in this series! I need the next book like right now! This book shows all that comes with a loss and heartbreak. It’s so hard to really say anything about this book without possible spoilers. Lots of heartbreak, lots of growth, lots of learning how to love and heal.

Have a comfort food, some tissues and a squishmellow or something to cuddle. you are going to need it.

Sullyn Shaw has come up with another book that has left me reeling and wanting so much more. This is the third book in the series and really dives into more of the mental health of the main characters and what it feels like coping with loss and depression. Even with the fantasy aspects, it’s definitely one that will resonate with someone whose been through the situations these characters are facing. I’ve fallen in love with new characters throughout this book and a new-found hate for another. Although this felt like more of a fluff piece compared to the last two books, I loved every aspect of it. I cannot wait to see what is next in store for Cora, Lena, Remy, and their bonded.

Tethered In Misery is the third book in the Nymphs of Incyssia by Sullyn Shaw. This picks up a few months after the end of book two. There's a lot going on in this one. There is everyone working through their own misery and needing to figure stuff out in their own time. I love watching Cora and Lena working through their own feelings and learning to trust again. There is a cliff hanger at the end. I'm needing book four - I must know what happens!

Another amazing book in this series! I need the next book like right now! This book shows all that comes with a loss and heartbreak. It shows the various different ways people cope with something. Pushing away your loved ones, keeping yourself busy and some other things as well. This book does end in a cliffhanger so do expect that. There is some spicy parts so there is a little bit of light in the darkness of what is happening.

I was looking forward to this especially with how things ended in book. Cora and Lena struggle to come to terms with their loss and both cope in their own way. The dynamics of the group are interesting and how the group try to rally and cope with everything that is thrown at them. It’s difficult to reveal more without being to spoilery so I’ll keep this vague. That cliffhanger though! Wow, can’t wait for the next book

nooooo!

What in the world just happened ?! I’m reeling from that cliffhanger. I was so not expecting that. This book continues on after Cora Lena parents kidnapped the twins. Everyone trying to figure out where they went . Things seem never to go as planned. Their were so many emotions between all the characters. The desperation of finding the twins. This book had me on my toes . I can’t wait for the next book in this amazing series.

OMG. THAT. ENDING. I cannot. There’s almost nothing else I can say about this book right now except I loved it and the ending has destroyed me. This book was deep into mental health and how people deal with loss in different ways. An amazing story that had me yelling at the end of the book. But don't let that stop you from reading it—especially since the series is complete! Looking forward to reading the next one!

Wow, this book is well named! After the events at the end of the previous book this one starts 3 months later and nothing is going well. Everyone has their own way of dealing with what has happened but no-one is coping well.
There is a lot of emotions in this book and the ending is out of the blue but I cannot wait for the last book in the series to come out.

Holy cow this book and started to put my heart back together after the ending of the last book. The spice scenes were amazing and Andrin started to redeem himself. Now I really wanted to strangle Cora and Lena and also Remy. However that ending just tore me back to pieces and I am still wiping away my tears.

I liked this book. The story picks up where book 2 left off. It was interesting to see Cora and Lena as two separate characters again.

As with the previous books, this ends in a cliffhanger.

If you enjoyed the first two books, I recommend continuing the series.

This is such an emotional rollercoaster that has you feeling right with the characters. This is very well written and so vivid it sucks you right into the story. This really is a whirlwind of emotion, grief, action and heat. It is a heck of an addition to the series and that ending was shocking.

This series has a way of emotionally investing you in the characters and it rips your heart out to watch them suffer and go through their various stages of healing. Without giving any spoilers, this book was almost as painful as it was frustrating in the sense that you wanted to jump through the pages and smack some of the characters upside the head while giving a hug to the others! This series is a must read! Looking forward to book four.
