About the author

Morteza Motahhari (Persian: مرتضی مطهری) was an Iranian Twelver Shia scholar, philosopher, and lecturer. Motahhari is considered to have an important influence on the ideologies of the Islamic Republic, among others. He was a co-founder of Hosseiniye Ershad and the Combatant Clergy Association (Jāme'e-ye Rowhāniyat-e Mobārez). He was a disciple of Ruhollah Khomeini during the Shah's reign and formed the Council of the Islamic Revolution at Khomeini's request. He was chairman of the council at the time of his assassination.

Kurangnya buku ini barangkali terletak di penyuntingannya yang mungkin agak babak belur. penempatan titik, koma, keterkaitan kalimatnya agak kurang baik, dan mungkin cukup banyak. Untungnya terbilang masih bisa dipahami. Kajian filosofisnya Muthahhari emang top lah. Enak dibaca pembaca awam. Di buku ini almarhum menunjukkan bagaimana Islam memandang dan menghargai perempuan sebagaimana makhluk yang sama-sederajat dengan laki-laki. Topik ringan yang menarik untuk dibaca di tengah bangkitnya beragam aliran feminisme.

this book contains many thoughtful and logical repudiations of western orientalist propaganda about the rights of women in islam. by the time one reaches the end, it becomes evident that females in the west, although physically liberated, are mentally oppressed and brainwashed by the inherent evils of liberal society. the mental health crisis among women in the west testifies to this.

my only critique would be that the book lacks female perspective, especially on the sections which concern female psychology. i appreciate that the author references the work of female writers but an open back and forth dialogue with a woman well-versed in islamic jurisprudence could’ve added more depth to the discussion.

overall, a must read for pretty much everyone who feeds into the hatred for iran / “woman life freedom” regime change propaganda.

Hal yang harus diperhatikan pada gerakan feminisme saat ini adalah perbedaan secara mendasar antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Yang harus digaungkan adalah tuntutan kesetaraan namun bukan keseragaman hak antara laki-laki dan perempuan
