Tony Hawk Stars of Sport

Grades 2nd-7th

Tony Hawk’s biography begins when he was a small child that had several behavior issues. It describes how he did not care for many sports because they were not fast paced enough for him until he discovered skateboarding. The book has some great action photographs that show Tony in action. Kids will be able to relate to Tony’s love for this sport and the hard work and determination it took to get him to the top.

Language Arts/Social Emotional Learning

Language Arts- Have the students write their own biography and have them include aspects of their life that they truly enjoy (such as playing baseball, doing art, etc…)
