Niūrus baronas Ksanderis Montekis, turintis daugybę prabangių viešbučių, privalo atnaujinti savo viešąjį įvaizdį. Nenoromis sutikęs Kalėdoms priimti šunį iš prieglaudos, Ksanderis nėra pasirengęs antrai susitarimo daliai – uraganui, kurį sukelia laisvos dvasios šunų auklė Elfė. Tačiau atsivedęs ją į savo pasaulį, Ksanderis sužino, kad Elfė – daug gilesnė asmenybė, nei tikėjosi, ir netrukus baronas nebeįsivaizduoja gyvenimo be jos – ir be šuns...
After several very happy years as a bookseller, Jessica Gilmore moved into the charity sector and now works in the Arts. Married with one daughter and two dogs, she lives in the beautiful Chilterns where she can usually be found with her nose in a book. A lover of a happy-ever-after, Jessica loves to write emotional romance with a hint of humour and a splash of sunshine.
This story has believable characters, a festive-inspired plot and forbidden romance. Full of humour and poignancy, it's lovely. Elfie is a dog nanny, just the person hotelier, Xander, needs to manage his rescue dog, but proximity leads to romance making it, a memorable Christmas. There are plenty of conflicts, lots of vivid festive descriptions and heartwarming romantic moments. Elfie and Xander find they have more in common than they thought. You want them to find happiness, and thankfully after an emotional journey, they get their happy ending.
I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
This book sucked me in from an extract I caught at the end of another book and I just had to buy it. I knew it was going to be great from those very first pages, understanding the austere, emotionally-closed-off Xander and our dog-loving, big-hearted Elfie from the off. Feeling it in your bones that true romantic magic was about to happen and all with added festive flair too. Jessica Gilmore did not disappoint!
I loved seeing Xander warm up as Elfie broke down his carefully constructed walls, and seeing Elfie open up her heart and spill her all to the one person you'd least expect to listen, let alone understand. It was gorgeous and perfect and oh so romantic. As for Walter, their furry matchmaker — what a superstar.
If you love your romances with a hint of Mr Darcy, all the Christmas, and the presence of furry friends, this one is for you! Absolutely fabulous and worthy of every star and more!
I received an ARC from Netgalley and Mills and Boon in return for an honest review.
I absolutely adored it. Elfie and Xander were such lovely characters and I was rooting for them from the beginning. - and as for Walter! What a fabulous side character! He really came to life for me and his role was crucial to the development of the characters and the romance.
Jessica Gilmore has a deft touch and I know I can rely on her for a heartwarming and emotionally satisfying story.
Gorgeous, festive, feel-good and utterly heart-warming!
I haven't read as many of Jessica Gilmore's books as I would have liked, but I am looking to find more and stock up my kindle, I really like her light and emotional writing and I can't wait to read more.
Christmas with his Cinderella is a wonderful and heartfelt festive romance, the characters are so likeable and you can't help yourself but instantly fall in love with them and back them all the way. The plot is easy to read and not too taxing and it melted my heart, I completely fell in love with the story of how a rescue dog brought two people together. I have always loved a love story with dogs, but as this is about giving a dog who was in need of a home a second chance and how he brought Xander and Elfie together warmed my heart.
I loved this book, I loved every part of it and I can't wait to read more from the author.
