Tyler Stewart knows he’s going to be a television star. He’s funny, and his uncle Pete is a writer for the most popular show on TV. Best of all, Tyler’s parents have just sent him to visit Pete in Hollywood. Talk about luck—no more of his mom’s worrying and his dad’s instructions, for the rest of his summer vacation. Everyone in show business needs a break, and Tyler is sure this is going to be his.

Now Tyler has two weeks to land an audition and impress the sitcom’s moody star. First he’ll have to learn everything there is to know about life on the set, from navigating the food cart to breaking a story. And that will mean spending as much time as possible at the studio—despite his parents’ objections. With the help of his new friend Samantha, Tyler’s dream just might become a reality. But the road to fame is paved with surprises, and the part of a lifetime is sometimes the one we least expect. . . .

There's a bunch of little things throughout this book that caused me not to like it. There's a bit of language, a tarot-card reading which plays into the rest of the story, a mom on vacation with a much younger, male-model boyfriend, a mom who doesn't see anything wrong with her son hanging around a group of writers with foul-mouths, suggestive content, a kid who gets off Scot-free for lying because it's all his dad's fault he had to lie to begin with, and a dad who is just plain evil in every way but mostly because he's afraid his child will be ruined by Hollywood... How awful.

The book was definitely geared for boys as there's quite a bit of gross humor throughout, like fart jokes and the like.

The educational side of the story was very interesting. The author did a good job of explaining the filming/writing process while not making it feel like you were reading a textbook. However, for an author who wanted to introduce kids to the world of TV, he really, REALLY downplayed the dark side. A stalker gets mentioned once, and Tyler has like five seconds of doubt about losing his private life. Other than that, it was all a dream job.

It's not a BAD story, but, like I said, a bunch of little stuff led up to me not liking it.

This book was so exciting to me!It was about

a boy named Tyler who was on his summer vacation and his mother was on vacation also with her boy friend Raphael. They were in Cancum,Mexico and tyler was with his uncle Pete in Alabama. His uncle is a writer for kids In The House which is a show on tv in the story.Tyler really wants to act on the kids show but has a hard time trying to ask and all.His father is worried about him getting famouse cause he may get on drugs or something bad may happen, like some celebritys have had that happen. His mother is ok with that but is worried about his asema. He meets a friend named Sam who is a girl and is welthy because her mom is in the kids show. There is sort of a problem because he didn't tell the truth to his dad about him going on the show and in acting class so he never gets in the show and goes back home to Chiacago and he might come back to visit.

Fun book for younger kids, about a boy, Tyler, who goes to visit his uncle, who's a writer on a hit sitcom. Tyler has the idea that he can become an actor on the sitcom. The book's characters are good, the idea is interesting, and readers actually learn quite a bit of what goes into making television, and why being a TV star isn't as glamorous as Tyler thinks. For all ages.

A boy gets to live with his uncle in Hollywood because he wants to get a part in a popular sitcom. Although it is classified as juvenile fiction it was not necessarily appropriate for kids.

Book Review

My book is Tyler On Prime Time. It is about a boy going to see his uncle Pete. Pete is an acting director and Tyler wants to be on the show, Kids on the House¨ and when he was on set he saw a girl. He decided to talk to her. Afterwards, Pete made fun of him. Pete said, ¨Ooooo, you have a crush! Tylerś face turned red. He was very embarrassed, so he changes the subject and the after the were done with additions the girl ask if he wanted to go to his house and swim. Then Pete and if he could so the did. A couple week later he forgot to take his medical for his asthma and took him to the ER. The after a couple days of acting he was a good actor they asked If his my and dad want to be on kids on the house to and then he said i'll ask and the parents are divorces. So the boys came and his dad was mad because his dad thought he was a the YMCA and he wasn't and then the next day they said he had to go home and so there mom and dad went home that night to different places and Tyler said he's goodbye and went home. He said he is going to miss all his new friends.

It was ok it was not the best but it could have more thing going on then like 3 places in the book
