3 Devilish Delights Stars ⭐
Short and raunchy, One Night Only was meant to send out a positive message of self love and acceptance. But with very little page's, it didn't really accomplish what it was intended to.
Juliet is in a personal rut. No love prospects, body shaming consumes her thoughts and work is mundane. To be fair, many will find Juliet relatable.
“Do you wear glasses, then? Because clearly you don’t see what I do.”
“You’re right,” he counters. “I don’t see what you do. I see a thick, sexy, natural beauty with a quick mouth and sense of humor.” He pushes the hair framing my face behind my shoulder. “And I want to claim her.”
Working in a sex supply shop should have it's perk but it doesn't until Reese. A customer who returns regularly and eventually offers Juliet a proposition. One that's bloody hot till it's executed...
Frankly it sounded hotter and filthier on paper. Yet once Reese has Juliet blindfolded in the changing rooms it just fizzled. And the ending? A couple of additional chapters were necessary to make it a well rounded novella.

Dirty mouth spicy scenes between them and they used Safe words when things got to much which I LOVE!!! Little time they had they grew a connection.. and both lying to themselves about one night.
No ow/om drama, Sexy times, no virgins (both talked about past idk if he was with anyone those other days? When he was at the shop)

50 Shades of Bodyshaming
It’s astounding how such a short novella can contain dozens upon dozens of negative comments about a women’s body. The kinks do not match, the characters don’t have any depth, the plot is basically nonexistent and when it does exist it has holes - which I could’ve ignored, as it is a smutty novella, but because the rest was icking me I just couldn’t do it.
The fact that Reed is so much older than Juliet and calls her “sweet girl” during sex scenes creeped me out in ways I can’t even begin to describe. He speaks like a 25 year old but we are urged to imagine him as a 40 something year old navy seal with grey hair and “balls hanging low” (literally described by the author as such).
Juliet wanted to fall in love so badly, she was already dreading his departure before they even had sex. And then they both bonded over… nothing. They literally shared a night and she was suddenly talking about a relationship. I couldn’t even feel their bond. Juliet was too invested in herself and her selfhatred that she wanted someone - anyone - to love her like she couldn’t love herself, which obviously is not ideal and if I was her friend I’d point her in my therapist’s direction.
This was absolutely based off of 50 Shades of Grey:
“That’s one,” he growls, his words drowning with satisfaction and pride. “Repeat it, Juliet.”
I squeeze my eyes shut and bite through the pain. “That’s one.”
(…)
“I took things to a level I knew was too much. I should have restrained myself, and I’m sorry. Please look at me.”
(…)
“Let me show you I’m more than my kinks.”
It needed more work for the reference to be diluted in the story.
The ending was nonsensical, it’s either missing some chapters or it should’ve been a clean cut. She could’ve gone home and decided to love herself and move to a different city, something inspirational instead of continuing to hating herself and needing a man to tell her her worth.
I understand writing comes with challenges, I would highly recommend an authenticity reader or a couple beta readers. I believe this story could’ve been way more fun to read with some edits.

This is a very quick kinky one night novella that totally delivered for me.

I received an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first read from this author and it wasn’t bad! One Night Only, in particular, is on the shorter side. So if you’re looking for something quick and dirty, or a nice little cleanser before diving into something longer, this is probably the book for you.
I appreciated that the FMC was a BBW. It’s so hard to find a romance book or smut novella with someone who looks like I do. But Juliet was big and Reed thought she was beautiful just the way she was. I appreciated the use of some temperature play here - it’s not something I see enough of. And I also liked how Juliet used her safeword! Safe words are so important for safe play!
I’m kind of hoping we get some follow up novellas about these two. I would’ve liked to see their relationship develop a little more and the HFN ending left a lot of openings. Do they stay together? Does their arrangement end after a few nights? I need to know!
Overall, for the length, it was worth the read. It’s short enough to finish in an hour right before bed. 😈

This definitely had some hot parts.
But.
I just don’t think it gave me enough between the two characters.
Juliet has zero self esteem, and though I totally relate, more than I really should, I think it was just too much with this kind of novella where we only get a few hours with the couple.
With such an ingrained and harsh complex like that I really feel like growth is necessary for me to enjoy whatever’s happening, and since we only got from sometime around midnight to sun up with these two, there wasn’t any growth at all. Just a constant stream of self hate and self doubt.
And the sex, though I found some parts really sexy, was a bit underwhelming, mainly Because of Juliet’s state of mind.

I just feel like there wasn’t enough here. It was missing something.

This fun, quick read was super spicy and everything I didn’t know I needed. I just happened by it on social media and thought why not. It sounds fun and something to tide me over until my next read. And who the heck doesn’t like spicy?
Honesty time…even being happily married for 20+ years, I still get insecure about my looks and weight. This book touched on all those points with me. But it was nice to see, even in a fictional story, some bigger girls with lots of insecurities get the guy…if only for one night. 5 Stars!!

- i don’t know why it bothered me that this took place in the s3x shop instead of taking her to a hotel
- eh that was alright but i was expecting more??
- it just kind of ended sadly? she was just putting herself down and him going ‘let’s do it for another night’
- that would of worked if there was then an epilogue saying they did it much longer than another night
- i just feel like instead of celebrating her being plus sized she just insulted herself a shit ton instead?? idk something didn’t sit right with me
