Rene Magritte: Now You See It-Now You Don't

Rate this book
In his mysterious paintings, Rene Magritte shows us how to see normal things in a different way. Heavy stones become light and float in the sky like clouds, a country scene shatters into lots of different pieces and a steam train chugs out of a fireplace.

Another Adventures in Art book that chronicles Rene Magrittes work in a fun format. He said "everything we see is hiding something else." He combines everytday objects in a way that seems unfathomable but that's what makes his work so legendary. Of his artwork I really liked Le Fils de L'homme of the guy with the top hat and the apple in front of his face.

This is a beautiful book about the mysterious work of the surrealist artist, Rene Magritte. It focuses almost entirely on the beautiful artworks and their strange combinations of realistic items. You will love this book even if you are only moderately nutty about great art.
