I went to battle for everyone else around me. I aspired to be in law enforcement so I could fight for those who can’t. The military made me cold, and moving into the police force secured that. I don’t know how to love when I’ve always been taught to fight. I deserve to be alone. The only good I’ve done in my life is take care of my daughter. I won’t ever do anything to jeopardize our relationship. Except love her best friend. A woman barely legal to drink, but I want to drink her in all night long
Daisy O’Malley
l’m what you would call an old soul. I need depth, experience, maturity, and passion if I’m going to commit myself to a relationship. Boys my age are just that. Boys. They have no direction and they’re only out for a good time. I want a long time. He was unexpected, but exactly what I’ve been looking for. Can we get past the two biggest obstacles he claims can’t allow us to work? According to him, I’m too young. Doesn’t he realize I could be the fun he needs while he can be the security I long for? Oh, and one other thing. I’m also his daughter’s best friend. Who says two wrongs can't make a right? When surrendering is the only option, you’ve got to go all in.
Daisy and Chief- well Hot damn they are one story you don’t want to miss out on!!
Buckle up and get ready, readers 🥵
Daisy is besties with Chiefs daughter- and she has been crushing on his sexy self since she and Angelina were in college and she saw his pic in their dorm room.
Daisy has such a fun and free spirit with an older soul & she is very physically attracted to him (bff’s daddy & When she just so happens to lands a job “under him” as the local dispatcher all bets are off! How will Ang feel about this?….
Chief has 2 things he is very passionate about, his job and keeping his loved ones safe & cared for. And his number one priority has been and will always be his gorgeous daughter.
But with the town struggling with some g@ng issues in the nearby area, things get a little cracra both in Chiefs intrapersonal life, family life && of course with his position at work.
Will chief Vincent Hunter be able to keep a wrap on both his work and personal life throughout the darker times looming in front of him, or will things get the best of him?! You must read to find out!!! And this is one you will FOR SURE want to read!
((This book is more on the darker side of Carolinas typical writing style and let me tell you what… she will pull you in with a vice grip from page one and leave you craving this whole book in one setting… this is the masterpiece of all masterpieces!! Absolutely incredible character development and side characters as well as a very “keep you on the edge of your seat” storyline with some shockers you won’t see coming))
What you will find in this read: 😮💨Small town 😡Age gap 🫦Perfect amount of spicy spice 🔥g@ng involvement 🥵bff’s daddy 🤭also some fun banter within
I have been waiting on Chief and Daisy for a minute! We have some great tropes in here like age gap and best friends dad. An easy fast read with some quality spice🤌🏻 I really loved that Vincent detoured his military dream to be a single dad. Chief and Daisy are 🥵
Thank you Carolina for the arc; all thoughts are my own.
Sooooo, what do I say about this book, Chief Vincent Hunter and Daisy O'Malley are just meant to be. This comes under morally PINK!! Not Grey but PINK!! Carolina has taken this age gap romance in a slight off beaten path, for her and gone a bit dark and has nailed it completely! I love it love it love it. Can we take a moment and appreciate that our Daisy knows what she wants and is not like any 20 something year olds. She is a true blown old soul. She knows what she wants and she knows who she is and who she likes. Enter Chief Vincent Hunter aka best friend's father. And the object of each other's affection. Gaah the way these two are with each other . Vincent is definitely trying not to be the cliched guy in falling for his daughter's best friend and fails miserably. Well we don't mind it one bit. When the past kinda repeats itself in their lives in the small town of Christmas, everything gets heightened . And I just devoured it completely. Vincent Hunter this man I love him so much that I have a blanket cocooned around my heart. He keeps me safe. And this book is everything you need. Carolina, take a bow!! You the Queen!!!!
Vincent is the police chief and gives his life to the job and his daughter. When he hires Daisy in dispatch his attraction to her is through the roof. He is over twenty years older, her boss, and Daisy is his daughter best friend. Daisy is extremely attracted to Vincent, but he has a hard shell to get through. There is also gang stuff going on the outside of Christmas. Can Vincent get Daisy and keep everyone save ? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing book. I absolutely love Vincent and Daisy and their dynamic. Great supporting characters. I love the humor and some good action. I love this book and world.
As a preface for this review- I am not big fan of small town romances or any type of law enforcement romances. Just not my usual cup of tea. This also may contain spoilers?
But this book… it was such an easy read. It drew me in from the very beginning. Literally. Once you read it, you’ll see. Which brings me to the spice- it was just the right amount for this book specifically. It’s not the spiciest by any means but the level of spice was perfect for the book. I think any more would have taken away from the story, which would have been a disservice because it was such a light, happy read.
I also felt the character building was great. There wasn’t any filler to drag it on but you learned the right amount about each character. I would love to read more about Cash and Angelina and it seems they may have their own story coming so I’m looking forward to it!
I received an ARC for this book and it was my first read by the author. But, it won’t be the last.

In this sweet love story set in a cozy town, age doesn’t matter when it comes to romance. The plot moves quickly, keeping you entertained from beginning to end. While some emotional moments could have been stronger, the story still delivers a heartwarming experience. Plus, it’s a standalone tale with a happy ending, making it a great read for anyone who loves a good romance. ARC provided for an honest review.
Welcome back to Christmas, Texas! Chief Vincent Hunter and Daisy O’Malley have arrived! If you have read the Casanova Family Series, you were introduced to these two. If not, I highly recommend to start on this series! It’s a must read & you will fall in love with these characters & their stories.
Back to story. If you like an age-gap, small town, best friend’s dad romance, this is the one for you. Our beautiful redhead is best friend with the chief’s daughter, Angelina, who happens to help Daisy land a job as a dispatcher at her Dad’s station. Daisy has been crushing hard on her bestie’s dad since college after hearing Angelina talk about her dad and how amazing he is and now that she works under him, she wants to show him how a man deserves to be loved and break down his barrier. She may be young but the way she carries herself and speaks so mature just shows that age is just number. Vincent has sacrificed his love life to take care of his daughter as a single dad and focus on his career. Now he’s where he wants to be but of course there’s that missing piece that he’s longing for. He’s been captivated with Daisy and would love to show her what it’s like to be with a real man and wants more than just a single night but is willing to open his heart up and love freely?
I love how Chief is so protective over his loved ones and sometimes he may go overboard but it’s always with good intentions. For the first time in her life, Daisy is independent and able to make her own decisions but even though danger is lurking nearby, she wants to show that she’s able to manage. As always, Carolina delivered! These two are HOT & so in tune with each other, it’s crazy. The connection is deep & goes above physical. I hope to hear more from them soon! I love seeing everyone again from the previous books. It makes everything even more amazing! ❤️
If there's one thing I love, its a good, smutty age-gap story. The bigger the age gap, the better. And this book delivers on that, and then some!!
Vincent is the police chief in a town called Christmas. He employs his daughters best friend, Daisy, to work on dispatch. From day one, the sparks fly!!
Vincent's need to protect Daisy (due to a family trauma) and Daisy's strong need to be independent makes for a beautiful storyline. And the spice is *chefs kiss*.
One thing I really loved about this story is that there was none of the usual angst surrounding their relationship that you often see in age-gap stories. Considering Daisy is Vincent's daughters best friend, and he is also her boss, their family & friends were accepting and supporting of them.
This book has all the tropes that makes this book so good 🥰 best friends father, age gap, and insta love. He’s a bit possessive and she a bit stubborn but the banter, teasing, with the back and forth make it work. Has a bit of suspense. A cute and very well written holiday book. We get our happily ever after. Can’t wait for the next one need to see what happens with Cash and Angelina ♥️♥️♥️
“He’s the epitome of a man wanting to protect and do all he can for others.”
Friggin hot Daddy Vince from Christmas, TX! He gives off such sexy vibes, I can’t even. I’ve loved seeing his and Daisy’s story develop into such an intimate relationship, both of them trying to work on themselves to be a better version for the other. The deep and true friendships made throughout, everyone coming together in a moment of despair… This was a good read, because who doesn’t want a sexy, mature, protective hotty Chief in their corner hehe

4,5⭐️ If the spice starts on the first page of the book 😍 It's a great story about a chief at a police station falling in love with his daughters best friend! But there are some hills in the road. Loved the storyline of this book.
This book was so refreshing to read because in age gap stories it’s always the worry about each other family tearing them apart. This book was hot and soo hilarious! I devoured it fast because I was glued to the pages! No adulting was done today because of this and it was the best day!!
I received an ARC and I’m giving my honest review.

This spicy age gap had me hooked from start to finish and who doesn’t love an overprotective, sexy cop! Vincent and Daisy’s relationship is very forbidden and it’s the kind that will pull you in from the start. I also liked how Daisy is feisty and her independence is fierce and she knows exactly want she wants and goes for it! Overall, I thought this was a great read and I enjoyed it and liked the suspense at the end!
Very steamy read. Vincent is the Police Chief in Christmas and Daisy is the new employee...and his daughter's best friend!! How does he reconcile his feelings with their age gap? I really like Daisy and her need for independence.

Twisted Surrender is a part of the Sweet but Twisted Christmas series, there are 14 books total each written by different authors. This was my first Carolina Jax book and I'll definitely be reading more in the future. This book is written in dual POV, there is an age gap, he is 44 and she is 23 and a forbidden best friends father/daughters best friend romance. I thought it was a cute story and I can't wait to read more in this series.
✔️Age gap ✔️Best friends Dad ✔️Police officer ✔️Grumpy MMC _________________________ 🔥"This Daddy should take you over my knee for talking back the way you do." _________________________
Vincent is the local police chief and a single father. He spent the last 22 years raising his daughter, Ang, and never focused on dating or falling in love until he meets Daisy, who is his daughter's best friend. And my favorite part is that his daughter completely supports their relationship, before it even starts, she thinks they'll be good for one another. _________________________ ❤️"You both deserve so much happiness. And if the two people I love the most find it together, then 'm all for it." - Ang _________________________
Daisy and Ang have been friends since they were freshmen in college, but she only met Vincent when she was interviewed by him for a dispatch position at the police station. They have a lot of sexual tension at work, and when she joins Ang at his house for dinner one evening, they finally give into their needs. But he doesn't think he's good enough for her. _________________________ ❤️"I'm not good enough for Daisy. I don't deserve to have such a fun loving woman. She deserves more than an old, closed off police officer. But if anyone could make me surrender to this lust coursing through my body, I bet it'd be her." _________________________
Daisy moved to the town next to Christmas, because it's what she could afford. However, it's not the safest place and when Vincent finds out that she lives in a house in that neighborhood, he worries. Especially one night when he catches her walking home alone after her shift. He insists he takes her home, only to realize how unsafe her home is. The front doors don't lock. The windows need to be replaced. And when he and Daisy finally give into one another, and start dating - he has his friends replace the windows... without asking her first. Which starts an argument because he's having a hard time giving up control, while she is trying to be independent and make choices of her own, after her parents always made them for her. _________________________ ❤️"You asked me if I'm ready? I'm ready for you to show me everything you want and need from me. I want to be better for you. I'm a work in progress, Daisy, and you've invaded my thoughts every damn day since I've meet you. Looks like I was just waiting for the right woman to come along." _________________________
He tries to convince her to move in with him, but she doesn't want to give up her home because it's the first thing she has on her own. She bought it herself, and wants to fix it up herself. Plus she still struggles with his controlling attitude. But after a string of robberies, someone breaks into her home and holds her hostage, and she does end up moving in with him. And I'm happy for Vincent because honestly, as controlling as he was, he had the right motives behind most of his choices and I thought it was sweet. _________________________ ❤️ "I want to take her to my home, give her everything she could want. Show her how I could love her right. Let her teach me how to be loved back."
*BOOK REVIEW* BOOK: Twisted Surrender AUTHOR: Carolina Jax PLOT: Vincent Hunter was made cold by his military training. When he became the police chief, that only made him even more cold. He doesn't know how to love as a result and he feels like being alone is the best thing for him. He also has a daughter that he's trying to give a good life to and isn't willing to do anything that could potentially ruin their relationship. Then Daisy O'Malley shows up. Daisy O'Malley is his daughter's best friend. She's what you would call an "old soul." She's not into boys her own age because they're not mature and have no sense of direction in their lives, and in a relationship, she wants to be with a mature man who has his life course straight. She's not looking for a short fling, she wants a long-term relationship. She meets Vincent and she is instantly enthralled by him. But he won't get involved with her because he thinks she's too young, and she's his daughter's best friend. Soon, they can't fight the feelings they have for each other. Will they be able to be together, or will they have to part ways? This book was excellent. I'm a huge fan of age-gap romance, and this was what I needed! Thank you Carolina for letting me enjoy Daisy and Vincent's love story! ❤ RATING: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This was so enjoyable! If you’re looking for a quick, spicy read that’s also really sweet, Twisted Surrender is the way to go!
Angelina and Daisy are best friends, having been college roomies. Daisy has been very vocal with Angelina about how hot her dad is, and Angelina is just at the point where she wants her big-hearted but lonely father to find some happiness, so after convincing her dad to hire Daisy for a position at the station, Angelina tells Daisy that if she can break through her dad’s emotional walls, she will fully endorse a union between the two.
Vincent Hunter is the chief of police in Christmas. A single dad, he had poured all of his energy into raising Angelina and being the best officer he can be. His focus is smashed , though, once red headed bombshell Daisy starts working at the station. If only he weren’t 20 years her senior, and if only she wasn’t his daughter’s best friend …
Vince is absolutely a silver fox, and Daisy absolutely knows what she wants. Watching the two circle each other, and getting a glimpse into each one’s point of view is so entertaining! And when the sparks finally fly… *chef’s kiss*!!
"Strike one? I’m the boss. Strike two? She’s twenty-three years old. Strike three? She’s my daughter’s best friend. Throw me out of the game because I want her like no other."
It's an age gap, best friend's dad, alpha, spicy story with a little thrill thrown in. It leans a little to the darker side but also has a lot of light sweet moments.
This was my first read from this author, and I really enjoyed it. I have recently gotten into the age gap/daddy trope, and this did not disappoint!
Vincent and Daisy were a bit alike, so at times, they butted head's a bit. Daisy was a bit too stubborn for me (she should have just listened and accepted what was offered), but I loved them together. I also loved the open, honest relationship between Angelina (Vince's daughter) and Daisy. It was so sweet and mature. Their communication was great. Definitely pick up this read!!
WOZAH! This book was a short but action packed read. I loved Daisy, her maturity and level headedness was everything a person could wish for in fictional characters, she was a great fit for Vincent.
Vincent Vincent Vincent, what a a man I loved how he was open to learning and communicating with Daisy. He was just the right amount of overprotective and loving as well as caring. Chief Hunter is swoon worthy😍
I LOVEDDDDD Angelina and cash and im so excited to read their story, I appreciated how open Angelina was to the idea of Vincent and Daisy being together, it was great change of pace from the regular drama that ensues during the best friends dads trope.
Daisy and Angelina’s friendship is top tier!
Thank you so much Carolina and Brittany for the ARC, I was so excited when this landed in my inbox! Cant wait to read Cash and Angelinas story next!
This is an absolutely amazing best friend’s dad and also my boss romance book. Chief Vincent hunter like to be the one in control, can he allow his daughter best friend Daisy to be the independent women she wants or will he try to control her? Daisy like’s to be independent due to having strict parents all her life, she likes to prove she can do things on her own. Could that be her downfall? Having been interested in her best friend’s dad since collage, Daisy gets a job at the police station Chief hunter works at and controls. After countless attempts at teasing each other they finally make the first move towards finding the relationship they want. But one night could be all it takes to shatter their relationship. I’d definitely recommend this book if you want a spicy romance book based in a Christmas town, which will have you on the edge of your seat
Or should I say I love Chief Hunter🔥 No, this whole book is brilliant it has it all the bossy, over protective, stubborn Vincent and Daisy the feisty, fiercely independent red head, have chemistry from the get go, this is definitely a forbidden, Best Friends dad age gap romance that will pull you in from the start and spit you out at the end. I definitely didn't want this fast-paced, perfectly executed, well written novella that had a little bit of everything to end. Brilliant story Carolina Jax, you have done it again, another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. If you haven't read any of these books, I'd say start at the beginning with the Biggest Win, which is book one in the Casanova Series. They are all based in the small town of Christmas. And you can't help but fall in love with the town and characters.
Daisy has had the hots for her best friends dad for 5 years. When she gets a job working for him she knows she has to break him and make him hers.
Vincent is the Cheif of Police. He is completely enamored by his dispatcher who just happens to be his daughters best friend.
Daisy wants freedom, when all she knows is overbearing parents who never let her do anything on her own. Vince just wants to protect her and do everything for her.
These two learn so much from each other when they finally give into their desires. One gang turf war and it could all be over.
Head to Christmas Texas and see what happens with these two and if love is enough to keep their differences together.
This a great small town story of age-gap love. The main characters have an instant attraction to each other, that he has been fighting for a long while. When they decide to go out for dinner, it starts a romance that continues to grow. Daisy has had it bad for her best friend’s dad since they met at college,Angelina tells Daisy to go for it and she’s happy for them. When she finally goes for it,Vincent doesn’t realize what hits him. He is concerned about the age=gap. Daisy shows him what he’s missing, and he gets his head out of butt and realizes that he loves Daisy. When the crime spree that has been happening around their town, hits their town and Daisy is hurt, thats when Vincent finally realizes what he almost lost.
The moment Daisy walks into the police station, he can’t stop thinking about her. She’s his daughters best friend, she’s only 23, but more importantly he’s now her boss making her completely off limits. Problem is Daisy likes Chief Hunter too. What will reign - the obstacles or the passion?
This one explodes from beginning to the end - the banter, the teasing, the passion, the spice and the ensuing drama. There’s a lot packed into this short book but delivers on all fronts.
Vincent and Daisy are perfect for each other, and teach each other all the things they need.
Daisy and Vince. They are something else🥵 How not only one but TWO characters make me feel some type of way is baffling but I was here for it and devoured it in a day!
Daisy is best friends with Vince’s daughter. I LOVE their friendship! Angelina was completely fine with them being together and it was refreshing to read how supportive she was (even if it’s with her father🤭)
I also love Cash and Daisy’s relationship! They had me laughing the entire time😂
Twisted Surrender is the perfect mix of smut and plot. I was loving the smut but the plot kept me saying “just one more chapter”!
The last few chapters had me sitting up, holding my head, putting my phone down to process what happened, and racing back to see what happened next! I rarely cry when reading books but this one definitely made me shed a lot of tears😭

“I’m surrendering. It’s a twisted surrender, but I’m all in.”
Another great trip to the town of Christmas for this novella ! We have seen Chief Vince a couple times in previous books and in the most recent Casanova book it was hinted that the Chief and his daughter’s best friend, Daisy, were more than just friends.
This was a great age gap romance with very little taboo issues. Daisy had been attracted to Vince since the first time she saw a picture of him. Now that they are working at the precinct together they are forced to be around each other and their attraction gets stronger. Daisy was perfect for Vince and able to give him what he never knew he needed or deserved. Thank you @carolinajax_author for the ARC! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🔥: “Hold on and sit still.”
4.5 ⭐️ It’s just been Vince and his daughter, Angelina for the last 23 years. Now she’s finished college, living her own life and he’s on his own too. Now he has a big problem, namely his new station dispatch operator, Daisy, who also happens to be Angelina’s best friend, and the woman he can’t get out of his mind. Daisy doesn’t hold back, she’s bold and independent and has let Angelina know that she fancies Vince since freshman year. Angelina has given her blessing, if Daisy can break Vince’s control. Filled with drama, action, suspense and danger, hot chemistry and steam, dirty talk and sassy banter and a great HEA.
I received a copy from the author and this is my voluntary review.
Vincent is the Chief of police and Daisy is their dispatcher who is also BFF with Vincent's daughter. This is the 1st age gap book that I read where the daughter is fully on board with a relationship before Dad is. The story incorporates the bad neighborhood where Daisy lives and that brings drama to their situation in more than one way. Daisy is fully on board with this relationship and it take Vincent some time to accept that it is actually OK and will work. Tropes - Age Gap Daughters best friend Workplace romance
Awesome . Loved every minute of this great story . The Chief Vincent Hunter hires his daughter as a dispatcher and boy is he crushing on her. Little realising she’s all hot for him and his daughter’s best friend Angelina ? She’s rooting for them to get it on and for her bestie to make her dad happy….just spare her the details!! Brilliant bit of writing loved every minute …oops I’ve said that already but it’s true could not wait to finish reading but was disappointed it ended I read an advance copy of this story and my review is voluntary in my own words
