Seventeen year old Koffee is being raised by a single father. Working and going to school, she’s trying to help keep she and her father above water. But when he loses his job and all of the responsibilities fall solely on her, will Koffee be able to remain strong, or will life break her down?
Mylk is a family man. Growing up as the oldest child of two siblings and the star basketball player for Germantown High School, he can do no wrong in his parents’ eyes. Until one day he meets and falls in love with a beautiful Koffee. Knowing his prejudice family won’t accept his relationship, he tries to keep it a secret. But when feelings get too deep and a surprise is thrown in the mix, will Mylk choose love, or break his own heart for the sake of his family?
Mylk had indeed had to grow up fast dealing with his family and because of the woman he choose to love they put him out but they didn't expect from him was that he came got the rest of his things and left his mother thought Mklk would beg to stay but he was thankful he was able to make some money and move on without their help he was putting himself first and separating himself from the toxic dysfunctional family he grew up in. As far as the baby I think they need to sit down and discuss things because he had a point Coffee had another year of high school and then there's college, she knew how hard it was for her dad growing up and they are much younger, they could try again once they were better established but needed to get on some form of birth control ASAP
Latrice, first off I enjoyed this read. Koffee was so well rounded, she had the mentality of a much older woman. Thank you for giving us a strong black dad that took his knocks and kept fighting, and he showed Koffee what to except and what not to except from a man and to always respect herself. Mylk, was a good young man, he faced many issues due to his family. I loved Mylk because he used his own mind. Mylk and Koffee now have to make grown up decisions. I can't wait to see how this turns out.🤗🤗🤗🤗
Boy this book was good I wasn’t expecting it to go how it did. I feel like Coffee father should of had the talk with her about sex birth control and condoms. Mylk should of known better also and asked her but now she’s pregnant so they need to figure it out. Also she needs to decide what she going to do with her life because she’s doesn’t even know yet herself and she still in school. I can’t wait to read part two.
I found this book to be childish and poorly written. The author gave a very negative vibe throughout this book…Koffee (the main character) was beautiful and bright and all the other black female characters were ghetto, loud and stole…Yeah ok, that’s where your are? Do you really have to put down other women to lift your character up? I will remember this author, so I know to never read anything written by her again
I can't wait for more of this good read. With the characters being so young The drama so far is what is going on in real life. The storyline touches on issues that are very prevalent in today's world. Not only has this couple not been thinking of the consequences of their actions but also have a lot to learn.
This was a good book! Mylk is my new bae. I wish there were more interracial urban books out there like this but i know there’s only a handful. I love how Mylk stood on business with his parents. The fact that he went against them was everything. Im hoping there is a part 2 🤭
Well, Latrice, I see you have done it again. 👏 This book is really good and I can't wait for pt. 2. Mylk appears to be a well-grounded young man in spite of his simple-minded parents. I can't wait to see the outcome of everything with Koffee dad because I know he is about to go in on Mylk.
I hate cliffhangers, didn’t read where it said this was a cliffhanger or I would not have read its. So disappointed 😔 Just checked and being a cliffhanger was never mentioned I Feel as though I was deceived.took away my choice to decide if I wanted to wait months or longer to find out what happened . Don’t know if I’ll be reading this author again.
Koffee dad sounds like he not fixing to play so I hope he get it together because their baby will be coming. I can’t wait to get into part 2 to see how it all turns out.
Mylk is very different from his very racist family. He and Koffee are very mature for 18. I love that although he raises her alone Koffee's dad did not allow her to become a spoiled brat. Poor Kayla is raising her mother. I'm ready for part 2!
