Taking a job at an infamous club run by gangsters is certainly dangerous, but the money is too good for Noel Bradley to say no.
After confronting his boyfriend's infidelity, a single night of poor decision making has cost Noel his job, his education, and his future. He's desperate to get his life back, but he needs a steady paycheck to make that happen. Having to wear tight spandex briefs and getting groped nightly isn't his idea of fun, but he cannot deny how well it pays.
Everything is finally looking up...
Until Noel accidentally draws the attention of the club's owner, the Beast.
Noel’s life drastically takes a turn for the wrose when he catches his boyfriend cheating on him. This leads to a DUI and a car crash. Now he's drowning medical bills and a college dropout. However, his friend hooks him up with a job as a waiter at The William, a famous gentlemen’s club. Noel catches the attention of The Beast when he spills drinks on him while working, the notorious owner of the club. He wants Noel for the night and does not take no for an answer. A one-night arrangement becomes something more. Noel is inexperienced but soon learns the roughness and care that The Beast provides are precisely what he needs.
I really enjoyed this addition to the Ruthless Daddies 2 series. I am a huge fan of K.L.Heirs, so I was excited for Beast. This story was more on the porn side, but I had a fun time reading it. I think it was steamy and the Daddy Dom Kink was on point.
I liked the fact that Noel isn’t as sweet and innocent as he appears. He has a darker, bloodthirsty side to him that slowly starts to show. He’s small, spicy and stabby. I loved the dogs too. I found this story and their relationship overall to be very sweet. It’s a mafia story; there’s violence and death, but Noel and Barrett made a lovely couple. While this story was relationship-focused, there's a mystery subplot with a bit of a predictable twist. There's some things you have to suspend your belief for.
Overall, I really enjoyed Beast! It was a fun and spicy Mafia read!
this reminded me of Tied to You by Syn Blackrose. that book was genuinely awful to the point that it was funny, but this one was like a slightly elevated version of it. not nearly as corny although it follows the same premise. i'm at like 3.5 cos i liked the spice even tho i eventually started skimming cos it was happening a LOT
It’s been awhile since I truly enjoyed a PWP story. This was great!
The Beast always gets what he wants and what he wants is Noel. Their interactions were HOT AF. Normally, the sex gets repetitive in a book like this BUT not here. It just got hotter and hotter.
There’s a rat in the organization and Noel helps Barrett (the Beast) capture this traitor. This was a super fast read for me and I really enjoyed the plot and the porny scenes 👏🏻👏🏻
The dogs were perfect 3rd MCs. The end was a bit abrupt for me but they did get their HEA. I definitely could read a novella or two with these characters again.
Okay, so both MCs are not what I expected them to be. Barrett the Beast is sweeter and Noel is stabbier. 💀 Not that I'm complaining—it was a fun surprise. 😆
This book is mostly corn with teeny tiny plot, so yeah... If you're looking for that kinda book, this one's for you. 😘
Tropes: 🖤 Mafia romance (a bit gory) 🖤 Daddy kink 🖤 Size difference 🖤 Virgin mc (the boy)
Okay y'all, I finally found a book in this series that I liked. I have sadly DNF'd two other books in this series but this one I fairly enjoyed.
It was fun and cute but was it the best? not particularly. This is one perspective, Noel our sweet but stabby magnolia and while he was adorable I wish we got Beasts' perspective on what he was thinking because he was wishy-washy for a moment but he ended up being a caring Daddy. Now the plotline was okay, I do not think it was anything super amazing, it was decent with mild suspense and a little bit of a plot twist. I do not think it was super thought out but tbh it was not important to the story at all of these two lovebirds. Now this book is mostly sex scenes. I kid you not I think there was a sex scene in almost every chapter and it was most of the chapter when there was one. At first, it was like oh cool very spicy but then it got very repetitive so I kind of skimmed some of them after a while because I was like ready to just move on.
I loved how much the dogs were incorporated into their lives, I am a huge pitbull girl so I love that was in there. the other characters seemed okay, they did not annoy me that is for sure.
overall this was an enjoyable book, wouldn't hurt to read it if you have time.
Kind of hated it ... Couldnt connect with the Main characters, the storyline was kind of boring, cant understand the change in the MC boy. Like how did he Go from sweet shy virgin Baby to Psycho killer?? Meanwhile the other MC, who was portrayed as the big bad Wolf makes also an 180° turn and Is literally is lamb. Lastly, the Sex scenes were exzessive and furthermore soooo repetetiv. Not even the good smut so, definetly no recommendation 🤡
I liked the book, but I think I would liked it much better if it had both heroes POV instead of just one. Also, as someone who is from the deep south, and who is married to AND surrounded by blue collar workers... and dare I say rednecks...no one I know talked like Noel. His accent was OTT. The word won't was used instead of wasn't so many times it took me out of the story.
Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy reading Beast. I found that the plot was all over the place and extremely rushed unfortunately to the point where it was mostly just smut and don’t get me wrong I do love some smut but not every couple of pages, then just when I thought the book was getting good it suddenly reverted back to being out of sorts. I did enjoyed the bits where Barrett and Noel interacted with the dogs but that was pretty much it. Lastly I wouldn’t say that this is a Mafia romance either.
This one began most hopefully for me out of all the books in the series so far - not in the sense of the storyline, but the quality of writing. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for big beastly men and damsel-in-distress types. Oh my god, I hope not.
One thing I can't get over though, is Noel's sudden bloodlust. Sure, that could be a convincing enough storyline, but the way it was executed didn't convince me of the sudden change. Also, it was very obvious from the beginning who has been stealing the money and for what reason. It's like the authors kept emphasising the hints, over and over again.
It was an alright book, but by the end it was all dragged out. It should have finished three or four chapters early.
I think this is my final chance for this author. Time of death 17%. I honestly think I really just do not like the dialogue that this author writes. They lean so hard into stereotypes for where the characters are from that it’s comical, but not in a funny way. Also the two characters have sex at like 8%. That’s waaay to soon even for me and there was no build up. Plus the whole first 7% Noel talked about how many other boys Beast slept with. Idk just not feeling it.
Could have done without Noel’s horrible grammar. I mean you can give me country backroads sure. But don’t give me this super smart guy that worked at a bank and yet says “I won’t thinkin.” Also, I like sexy time as much as they next person but this is as a lot of the same “Oh, Daddy! I gotta come, Daddy!” “Not yet, boy.” Gets old fast, plus come on Noel was a virgin, who didn’t want to catch the Beast attention and then went totally along with everything. Have a little self worth! Idk, parts were good, I enjoyed how bloodthirsty Noel became and I like the concept of the Beast character but they both fell a little flat for me.
I liked this one. Really liked it. I only slightly regret staying up last night. It was OTT. You've got this innocent romantic heart on his sleeve. The first relationship results in a dangerous accident. The second, he gets caught up by a gangster, which always makes me think it'll go the Asami/Akihito route. The initial meeting was rough, the bullying from Jinx didn't help. Then the first dog shows up and it's oh one of those.
It's sweet and a bit sappy, entertaining as hell and a lot stabby. It was a surprise when Noel went for Jinx. That seemed to set the tone for how Noel dealt with his problems. With a temper and stabby stabby. Glad none of the dogs got hurt. I wasn't surprised by the culprit. I liked Amy and how chill she was. Curious about the son, he seems like trouble. Sex and violence. Relationship troubles at the start, all in for the rest. Would read again.

This was such a fun book. Noel was absolutely adorable and funny. He appeared slightly naive, but was far from it. He was smart and went after what he wanted. And Barrett was what he wanted.
Barrett and Noel seemed to be such an odd match, but ended up complementing one another beautifully. And the little stabby gnome that lives in Noel came out in full force several times. One of Barrett’s most endearing qualities was his love for his dogs. He was so squishy for them.
Of course the steam was *on point * in a million different little ways. Barrett was, well, a beast and didn’t pull any punches with the inexperienced Noel. There were also a ton of little moments that were soft and sweet between the two. There wasn’t a ton of relationship development between the two, but I was having such a fun time reading about them that it didn’t matter.
This was such an enjoyable read for me. Once I started, I couldn’t wait to get back to it. Also, as an Amy myself, I was quite partial to Hot Amy, Barrett’s best friend. Honestly, this really was just a fun read. I enjoyed it from start to finish.
- Longest so far (Almost 8 hours) - 3rd POV 💀 - Noel is a darling right off the bat - The ‘Beast’ was not a beast at all aside from looks. Noel was a beast too ig - Insta lust/love 😑 - First half had no plot whatsoever. Such a letdown. The following still only slightly better - Doggies made it a bit more bearable - TOO MANY SPICES. I skipped a lot of them. This one is erotica fr.
So this was pwp. No problem with that. I didn’t like that in the beginning MC2 had a harem and all of them called him daddy. I liked that MC1 became a stabby possessive asshole 😂
Aaaand this is where my recommendations went back into mafia. I really should read that gargoyle one and the Orc one, try to get myself back into that end of the recommendations
In love. I am in love. K.L Hiers and Mozzarus Scout wrote a fanatic book together! Okay so in my head Noel sounds exactly like Finn Abernathy on Bones, you can’t change my mind. I loved Noel’s development, I wasn’t expecting Noel to break out the way he did! He is going to be one of my favorite characters for sure! I’m going to need this to be a new series. I’m not ready to let the Beast and his boy go. They are going to do great things muahaha. I love the possessive mafia daddy/guy in books but I love it even more when the boy/love interest is just as possessive. When both will unalive you for looking at their man wrong. I loved all the doggies! More books need to have dogs in it. I love the dogs betrayal. Roz reminds me so much of my Red Nose Pit.
Favorite lines: “I went off on him. And choked him. Tiny lil’ itty bitty bit”
“Short and stabby” I love Loris. He needs a book *cough cough*
Overall the story was good and had potential but there were a lot of little things that bug me and that took it from a 5 to a 3* for me:
- First, the Beast is f- king every boy in his club but he never uses protection with Noel (there’s absolutely NO discussion about being on prep/diseases/tests/using condom AT ALL) I get that he’s a big bad guy/murderer blah blah but even if he has no respect for others’ safety I’d assume he’d want to be safe himself. And since he’s supposed to be a daddy he really should have been thinking about his boy’s safety more . Poor Noel has 0 experience, it kinda of broke my heart to see Barrett abuse his power like this and never protect him in this sense. I think having some chapters from his POV would have been useful to understand him better
- Second, I guess the danger of having 2 authors is that it shows sometimes: Noel’s accent kept changing from one chapter to the next o_O At first he was speaking like everyone else and then he had a big southern accent and it went on like this, back and forth the whole time.
- I do love sexy scenes but when you write so many of them it gets boring if they are all the same! Honestly once you’ve read their first one you have no surprise left for the rest of the book. Everytime, they go at it like crazy (except one time when the beast « takes it slow » and even that is not really slow) and they both yell « you’re mine/I’m yours » and « be a good boy » over and over…and that’s it. Poor Noel never even gets a bj despite all the sex scenes, poor boy! And despite the beast being such a bad boy the sex is not really kinky which is weird. They have sex in different parts of the houses and they use toys in the last 10 pages (but even that is not good for Beast because he’s jealous of a dildo!) There’s a mini spanking and orgasm « denial » (which is not even one in the end) but that’s very quick…Honestly the last chapter ended with another sex scenes and by then I was so annoyed by those (and I’m usually on the « the more the merrier »side for those) that it almost took my review to a 2*
- Poor Noel was a virgin in the beginning and I don’t know how he was not more sore because he went from 0 to getting ***** all the time. At one point he even says it hurts and the Beast doesn’t seem to mind it too much which again was not the sign of a great dom. It’s great to call him « my sweet magnolia » over and over but you act like this in exchange?
- The police/hospital scenes were really unrealistic. Noel was never questioned once despite all the things that happened to him and all the blood spilled. Really? He even left the hospital very easily for a guy who got shot
- Also another way Barrett was bad daddy: his boy got shot, he brings him home and you guessed it, they go at it like animals despite the fact that he was seriously hurt/on painkiller (and of course he goes rough on him) Again later after the big murder scenes. And again in the last chapter with the dog.
- This last scene was also very weird in my opinion: in the last pages Noel rescues a dog that a guy tried to run over. He brings him over, his own hand bleeding and covered in the dog piss and all dirty…So of course, as soon as they put a bandage on his hand they go to the bedroom immediately because who doesn’t like to f*ck with piss and blood right? And despite being big dog lovers they don’t even think about tending to the scared puppy first?? The poor dog just went through a lot but they bring him in the bedroom and are like « here’s some water while we f*ck »
- Speaking of dogs they were all cute but I could have done without them interrupting their sex scenes…Serious mood killer
- And I could have done without them having sex just minutes after killing 2 guys (I got confused: at one point it was 2 dead guys then 3?!) I mean their bodies are still warm next to them but of course they can’t wait. They can’t even wait to go check on their friend who’s hurt/passed out in the next room? If it was a fantasy novel those 2 would have been fated mates because they couldn’t go 5 minutes without having sex it was ridiculous. Noel wanted to murder ANYONE who came near Barrett it was over the top
- It was a bit strange how the sweet virgin from the beginning ends up being a total psycho killer without any sign in his past life that he had been interested in blood…It deserved to be worked a bit more to make his change believable

Noel Bradley needs a better-paid job as he has several debts around his neck after he confronted his boyfriend's infidelity and that single night of poor decision-making cost him his education and his future. So having to wear tight spandex briefs and getting groped a little nightly is worth it for a job that pays very well. Then he draws the attention of the club's owner - the Beast.
I enjoyed this story with the infidelity, Noel's mistakes and then his introduction to the club. His relationship with the Beast revealed that he really wasn't as scary as he thought and that his canine friends are not as scary as he first thought. I liked the way that their relationship grew even though it might have appeared not to be as sweet as it really was. I also liked the way that Noel was so passionate about protecting those he loved whether they were human or animal. Easy to read, feel and understand. The mystery element of this story will definitely keep your attention. This is an MM story with mature content with a BDSM-like DDLB relationship.
I'm not sure if there's something wrong with me because I honestly thought this was a really sweet story haha. Noel and Barrett are kind of adorable together and whilst there's violence I really mostly just thought they had a sweet, if a little violent, romance. Noel was definitely a favourite for me. Don't get me wrong, Barrett is awesome and sexy and fantastic as he is, but Noel had this special something about him that made me love him completely. He wasn't a damsel in distress, he wasn't naive or ridiculous. He was strong, clever and incredibly capable (also possibly a little violent, but only in the very best ways). He rolled with the punches and I just loved seeing someone who didn't simply let life happen to him. Noel was the guy who embraces life, who fights back and who doesn't take nonsense. That combined with the incredibly sweet moments he had with Barrett just made this a perfect read for me.
So the cast of characters in this book are Barrett, a mobster known as the Beast, and owner of a club called the William. Noel, known as little magnolia by Barrett, and a virgin waiter just out of debt, thanks to Rue, Noel's neighbor and bartender at the William. Jinx, pole dancer who wants Barrett to be his daddy but Barrett ends up choosing Noel instead. Their lives are intertwined with jealousy, greed, sex and bloodshed. For me, the perfect mixture of hurt/comfort. I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the series and highly recommend it. I loved Noel's Mississippi accent and how he was able to tame the Beast. He turned out to be a firecracker and always had Barrett's back unlike everyone else who only used Barrett. Oh and you can't forget, Brutus, Sasha, and Roz, the most protective and cuddliest dogs ever.
Three cheers for Noel, who’s clever, resilient, and has a ruthless edge that somehow doesn’t detract from his sheer adorableness and definitely helps with his adaptation to his new life and relationship. There’s chemistry for days between him and Barrett (Beast), and the heat levels are high, with plenty of creativity and spice. There are bits of sweetness (of a sort fitting the general dark twisty vibes) too, and overall, these two just work— don’t look for a particularly nuanced relationship trajectory here— that’s not where these guys shine, but there's good fun to be had when you take them on their own terms, and appreciate the compelling cast, both human and animal (gotta love a ruthless bar owner/mafia type with a soft spot for his pets). 4.5 stars.
*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
So this books isn’t bad, but it definitely has its flaws. First of all, the plot. It’s very simple. Honestly, the yearning is short lived, so everything’s just like “this is how it is and that’s how it’s gonna be”. There’s some foreshadowing, but it’s very exaggerated so you kind of already know what’s going to happen. I’m not a fan of the writing style. Everything feels super dramatically written, yet the plot is very one note. Overall, Barrett is just a teddy bear daddy and Noel is a mischievous, naughty bottom. I went into this expecting Barrett to be more mysterious, cold and Noel more to be a nervous wreck who yearns for a protector. Obviously it didn’t turn out that way, but that’s just how the author wrote them.
I wanted to like this more than I did. I really enjoyed Werewolves Don't Like Clogs so I thought to try some of Hiers other work. This was disappointing in the fact that there were WAY too many uses of exclamation points and the word "loins" for my taste. This was also another book where there was almost too much seggsy time. It started to take away from the story. Not to mention the MC going from a virgin to a cock slut almost instantly wasn't really believable. I also wasn't a huge fan of Noel's sudden blood lust either. It just didn't seem like it fit his character and it was just so that he fit better with Beast, who was a jerk to him almost until half way through. There was no easing into anything in this book, which made it hard to enjoy.
Noel works for Barrett "the Beast" at the William, a gentlemen's club. The Beast routinely picks someone to be his Boy for the night and one night it's Noel. Noel wants it to always be his night, for Barrett to be his Daddy and he be his only Boy. This book is one long s*xfest with violence, Mafia savagery and Noel becoming quite the bloodthirsty one. Throw in three adorable pitties and mastiffs and a scary club manager and Noel's life is changing dramatically. I loved this dark romance and these two are totally obsessed with each other, my favorite kind of couple. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. It's hilarious that every time Noel speaks, I can hear hos accent in my head.. Things was looking brighter until the one eye he dreaded to catch, as now Noel's misstep lands him at the feet of the "Beast" Barrett. Where before working at the William's sweet Noel had control, but where his Daddy is considered, Noel is losing that sweetness more easily then he ever imagined. The beast are about to loss his beasts to the novice. Its seems Barrett has a rat in his house, no wonder everyone has trust issues! But boy, When the beast mode starts, dang it can brings out a hot version of a blood thirsty slasher feast.
DNF@ 58%. Entirely too repetitive. Yes, Noel wants to be a good boy for Barrett, and Barrett always wants him to be ready to take Daddy. We get it. Is this going somewhere? Also, Noel's supposed finance background and the way he speaks don't go together. It's not like he just lapses into a cute accent when he speaks; he literally does not know basic grammar. And! I love dogs - I promise you I do - but the stuff with the dogs was just too much. Amelia's acceptance of Noel was way too fast and easy and Noel's obsession with doing anything to fit with Barrett and be his good boy was kind of sad. DNF.
