Not finished series: *just exists*
Cora: whatever *starts different one*
Hmm, this book certainly wasn't that bad, but it felt like a combination of previous Cora's books, but made it Irish. The story wasn’t original at all. If you read mafia romances, you've probably read books like this at least ten times, but still somehow I liked some parts of it. Probably the action at the beginning, because it was ridiculously pathetic and typical, to the point where I wanted to keep reading to see if I would witness something funnier here.
But, let's start with our main characters, specifically Aislinn. Aislinn was simply stupid. I can’t find a different word to describe her. She was the perfect example of a heroine who is told one thing, and does another.
Mom tells her not to go and ask the Irish mafia for help? She goes and asks for help.
Her mom tells her to stay away from her Uncle? She goes straight to him.
People tell her to avoid going to Sodom? She drives there as soon as she can.
Some guy informs her that if she goes inside she will be basically sold for sex? She goes inside thinking she will be "different" and that will avoid her. Spoiler. It doesn’t.
She is warned to not go to police? Police tell her to install bugs in their home and she does that.
No girl, it was your choice to fly to New York and get yourself into this mess. Live, Laugh, Love Cora’s heroines. Not Kiara though.
Moving to our, the most original, amazing, lovely hero. Just joking. He was your topical wattpad, alpha, mafia boss with too much money but at least he liked to eat your kitty. That’s something! He saw the heroine for two seconds, saw her putty when she basically sold herself and boom
I don't know what else to say because this man had no personality.
Finally, let's move on to the questionable sentences and names in this book, because I was wondering who allowed it to be published.
Please at least not the Shrek version.

Spilled her juice? I hope it’s at least the orange one. Vitamin C is quite important.
In overall do I regret reading it? Maybe. I mean, it was funny and ridiculous, but why so long? It could easily be two hundred fifty pages, not four hundred.

4.5 I Was Her Savior or Her Demise Stars ⭐
“With a little practice, you’ll get used to sinning.”
A quest to find a sister who doesn’t want to be found delivers good girl Aislinn to the devil’s lair. New York is the home to the Irish mafia. It was meant to be a quick stop, but one glance and Lorcan Devaney needed to claim Aislinn any which way.
Aislinn was everything I’d missed about Ireland and so much more. I wanted her. Her innocence. Her body. Her smile. Everything.
From the first page I was captivated by this story. From the rich Irish roots to this morally grey love story; I was won over. Innocence meets danger and the intensity was smoldering. Lorcan might be menacing to the core, but his loyalty was profound.
My idea of a good marriage entailed more than satisfying sex, but to reach a level of trust required for such a bond, both parties needed to be willing to let themselves fall. I preferred to throw people into pits.
You wanted this marriage to work even though Aislinn was out of her element, and the search for answers would endanger everything she held dear. Now she was forced to take a husband she didn’t want even though she had no control over her lust for him. And it was delicious.
Opinions may be mixed on GR but I am glad I made my own. Dangerous Innocence was an adventure that was edgy enough to make you worried about what happened next and also had you rooting for the villain. If it wasn’t for Aislinn’s stubbornness / stupidity and fuckwit sister, it would have been perfect.

this wasn’t horrible but i got kinda bored after the 60% mark
aislinn’s actions started pissing me. like why plant bugs all over the apartment to help the police but then purposely not give them any info and refuse to put any in lorcan’s office when you had the opportunity? it all felt very pointless in the end
also, the way she kept defending her stupid ass sister irked me to no end. she did NOTHING to deserve that type of loyalty…i mean for her to go behind lorcan’s back when he was more loyal than her sister EVER was is crazy 😐
the smut was probably the only good part about this book. i did like the irish mob aspect of it, not sure i’ve read any of those before
also, what could book 2 possibly be about??? it ends with CR telling us we’ll find out what happened to her sister in the next book but I DON’T CARE 🤷🏻♀️

This is the first book in a new 5-book series of standalones "Five-Leaf Clover" set in a new world of Irish Mafia, the books are not connected to Cora's Italian Mafia world. Each book is supposed to follow one of the 5 Devaney brothers: Balor, Lorcan, Aran, Callahan, and Caden. The protagonists of this book are Aislinn and Lorcan. Tropes are Arranged/Forced Marriage, Alpha "touch her and you die" Hero, Innocent heroine, Age Gap and Secrets. It's set in New York and Dublin. The song is Take my breath by The Weeknd.
This felt so unlike Cora. It almost didn't feel like her writing at all. This book was announced in 2021 and kept being pushed back. This book has no OW drama. Can you believe that? He didn't cheat after they were married even if their marriage wasn't "real". Heck, he didn't even think of other women when they were separated.
The spice was good but at some points, it was too much. The "punishment scene". He's rubbing some dirty chains on her privates that he was dragging all over the floor of a warehouse. Then gets a dirty baton up her pussy. I doubt he sanitized it beforehand. All I'm thinking is: Infection! I'm sorry lol I just can't help it.
This book was pretty slow paced if you ask me. I wasn't really getting into it at first. Only halfway through the book did it start to get interesting and the story was moving along. It was still interesting enough to continue the series.
Face Claims [Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Madelaine Petsch] These are Cora's face claims from her official Pinterest board. Lorcan is said to look like Wolverine in the book too.
"Will you give me what I paid for, or will you owe me a debt?"

Dangerous Innocence is the first book in Cora Reilly's brand-new Five-Leaf Clover series, diving into the world of the Irish mob. I was really excited to read this mafia romance and couldn't wait to meet the new characters. The story started off strong, and I was hooked to see how it would unfold. Aislinn caught the eye of mobster Lorcan, and before she knew it, they were married. Lorcan was swoon worthy, and I couldn't get enough of him.
Aislinn was a strong and loyal character, and I admired her determination to find out what happened to her sister at the start. But as the story went on, it started to get a bit frustrating. I ended up liking Lorcan more than Aislinn. In the first half of the book, I would have given it four stars without hesitation. However, a particular trope emerged and decision was made in the second half that failed to align with Aislinn's personality which made me lower my rating to three stars.
Furthermore, the plot's development failed to generate the excitement I had anticipated. Regrettably, the story lacked significant occurrences and failed to deliver the thrilling momentum I had hoped for. Although I harbor reservations about the upcoming main character in the next book, I'm still planning on reading it, as I am curious to see how the series progresses.

I am disappointed and disgusted by the way Cora Reilly represented the Christian religion in her book "Dangerous Innocence". Although it said "Aislinn Killeen is a good Catholic girl.", the author includes a sex scene in a confessional, which is totally disrespectful and disgusting. As a fan of her work, I am disappointed to see that she lacks such respect for my religion. Unfortunately, this means that I will not be reading her books in the future.

The book was ok but the fact that it was so centered around the h's sister- who was one of the most shallow characters that I've read about in a while- didn't do it for me. And the fact that she's most likely getting her own book? It's a no from me 😭.

I had high hopes for the first book in this new series. Unfortunately it fell very flat. You would think that since it's the first book there would be some time spent leading up to the main content of the book to introduce characters, the setting, and the new mafia world. There was nothing. 40 pages in and the two MC's are already going at it. And then suddenly they're getting married?? Because she reminds him of home?? After meeting hardly more than once??? Makes no sense. Also what is Cora Reilly's obsession with 99% of her female main characters being virgins? It's getting old.
Honestly for most of the book you forget that Lorcan is even in the mafia. And by the end of the book nothing has even happened! It's just a lead up to the next book. Series that have a plot that extends throughout all the books are fine, but there has to be a plot and a point to each book. I'll read the next book when it comes out but I don't have high hopes.

Marries him and persistently searches for her sister Imogen, who knows but doesn't contact her
The book started well, but confusion as to which trope it should land on made it unnecessary long and mundane.
Aislinn was doggedly loyalto her sister which begged me to wonder why. Imogen is selfish gold digger, indifferent and callous to her entire family.

Sigues decepcionándome.
Es que este libro es muy malo.
No hay nada rescatable.
La historia es flat
Los protagonistas son de lo más basic.
Es una nueva serie de mafia irlandesa, y va a tratar sobre los 5 hermanos.
Y éste es del segundo hijo y el jefe de la organización de Nueva York.
Y ella es una chica irlandesa que se va a NY en busca de su hermana que tiene tiempo que no se comunica y va a dar al territorio de Lorcan y él será uno de sus principales sospechosos.
La relación de ellos es puro sexo sin una pisca de romance.
Se supone que es un matrimonio forzado y yo pensé que se iban a enamorar poco a poco, pero no sucedió todo era sex, sex, sex y aparte ella me cayó muy mal por poquito le quitaba el puesto a Gianna, era ANNOYING pero sobre todo tonta.
Otro punto a destacar, es que no parecía que estaba leyendo un libro de Cora, no tenía su estilo.
Muy probable lea el siguiente que esperemos que mejore porque los italianos dejaron la vara muy alta.

I am so SAD! Cora used to be my favorite author. She got me into spicy and mafia books! I used to think any sex scene was cringe until I read her books. But lately her books have not worked at all. Anna’s book, amo and Greta’s book. Now this? Ugh. I don’t know what is going on. I feel like all the characters are surface level and stereotypes. Nothing about them feels real. The dialogue is super off and it’s like the characters are reading each others mind but not in a good way. There was ZERO chemistry between the two MC. I just want the old Cora back 😭 plus it’s like someone is not editing her books anymore. Phrases are said over and over again. She reiterates things that she just said. Idk this feels like a 1st draft. This was the 1st book of her I have EVER DNF’d and I am literally heart broken

I'm always excited for a new Cora Reilly mafia book since I read the Camorra Chronicles and absolutely fell in love with the Falcones. Sadly, this one didn't do much for me. In fact, it was the worst book of hers I've read so far. Nothing much happened and Aislinn and Lorcan started aggravating me. The Irish mafia does not seem very interesting either. And let's not even start on the protagonist of the next book. I'm not very happy at the moment. I don't know if I'll read the next books in this series. I'm only curious about Balor but even he might not be enough to entice me.

Dangerous Innocence is the first book in a brand new series by this author. I really went into this with a open mind. Sometimes her books can work for me but sometimes they dont. Normally my issues lie with the heroines, rarely is it with the heroes. But I did try to maintain my objectivity on this one. This was quite an interesting one and it did have a different taste to it from other books I have read from this author. I quite enjoyed this one, don't get me wrong. It was addictive, strong alpha vibes, some taboo sexy times in a Church, and lots of mafia presence. But there was one aspect to the story that I struggled with and it was the heroine. Her character I really struggled with. I am not sure if this is just how Cora Reilly tends to write her heroines in the first book of a series or what, but I tried to like her I really really did. At first I did but when she betrayed the hero, yeah not for me and quite frankly he forgave her way too quickly. She never seemed to do a grovel and didn't even seem sorry about what she had done to him. Personally I didn't get where she was coming from, there wasn't much nuance to the situation. I know some readers may have issue with the hero but come on he is a alpha mafia hero, he was very a typical in how he treated her, I wasn't really having issues with him that much. I just didn't understand the heroine and from the beginning was looking for anything to betray him. Not once did she have any integrity towards him or their vows and I will be honest it rubbed me the wrong way. I did try to keep an open mind with her and try to be understanding but she kept making up excuses for her behavior and never willing to be accountable for it. She got off way too easy in my opinion and its a cycle I get really tired of with heroines. I am very eager to see what the author does with future books for sure as I love the family and if you are a mafia fan or have enjoyed Cora Reilly in the past, I highly recommend this one.

What’s worse than a heroine who makes stupid decisions and has no regard for her S.O? A heroine whose whole personality is based off of “finding her sister”. I failed to enjoy this book, and Aislinn was so unlikeable and annoying for me. How Lorcan put up with her and her delinquency I don’t know. It’s book is just a bunch of cliche tropes and storylines meshed together to form a book. Someone said that you can tell that the author doesn’t really care about this book with the way she wrote it and I agree. 0.5/5 stars

Have you ever seen a Five-Leaf Clover? I've actually only seen two four-leaf clovers in my entire life. The five-leaf clover is even less common than that. It means extra good luck and financial gain. So it's really no surprise that the Devaney clan uses it as their mark. And because five is such a powerful number, old Devaney senior thought having five children, all boys, was an excellent way to guarantee even more good luck and financial gain.
My new series will be about these five Devaney brothers!
What else can you expect from this series?

- strong family bonds
- Irish setting (DI is the only book that is mostly taking place outside of Ireland)

I must confess that I started this book being very skeptical. But as the first chapters went by Cora Reilly managed to catch me little by little with this story full of mysteries, betrayal, pain and love. This new book is an introduction to this new world of the Devaney brothers.
Psss. A secret between us, I can't wait to read the story of Balor
Aislinn is a good Irish girl, when her older sister and mother of a 3 year old boy goes missing in New York, she knows she has to do something to find her.
In this search for answers to find out what happened to her sister, she meets Lorcan Devaney, head of the Irish Mafia in New York. A very stubborn girl who will not give up easily comes to revolutionize Lorcan's world.
From their first meeting we could see that their relationship was going to be a tug of war. Like a little game of the prey and the hunter.
Definitely with this book we can read a lot of spicy scenes, where we can't overlook the little dom/sub dynamic that Lorcan and Aislinn develop.
Lorcan Devaney pleasantly surprised me (please don't look for comparisons with other Cora characters) he is totally someone new and different, he has a great sense of humor and is very sarcastic with Asilinn. But little by little we get to know his history and his beliefs.
In this book Cora, has gone deeper into the mafia, we will see blood, torture, dirty business and more, but definitely the romance is still the main focus of this book.
The attraction between the two is evident from the very first moment, but make no mistake, the process of romance between the two of them is slow and develops little by little.
“You are bound to me. But I think you’re scared of liking me.”
A slow but exciting romance, where betrayal, mistrust and mysteries will take us to the limit.
This book contains scenes that may seem unpleasant to some people, prostitution, violence, torture, abuse. Intended only for those over 18 years old.
Some points that I felt were lacking was the lack of character development. It was very slow and gave a Taltal change at the end of the book.
In some parts of the story, I felt that everything was stagnant and many questions were left unresolved.
But still, I would like to give the next book a chance to see if this all improves and answers the questions that were left in this book.

En esta búsqueda de respuestas por saber que ha pasado con su hermana, se encuentra con Lorcan Devaney jefe de la mafia irlandesa en New York. Una chica muy testaruda y que no se rendirá fácilmente llega a revolucionar el mundo de Lorcan.
Desde su primer encuentro pudimos observar que su relación se iba a tratar de un tira y afloja
Definitivamente con este libro podemos leer una gran cantidad de escenas picantes, dónde no podemos pasar por alto la pequeña dinámica dom/sub que desarrollan Lorcan y Aislinn
Lorcan Devaney me sorprendió gratamente (porfavor no busques compararlo con otros personajes de Cora) el es totalmente alguien nuevo y diferente, tiene un gran sentido del humor y es muy sarcastico con Asilinn. Pero poco a poco podremos ir conociendo su historia y sus creencias.
En este libro Cora, se ha adentrado más en la mafia, pero definitivamente el romance sigue siendo el foco principal de este libro.
La atracción entre los dos es evidente desde el primer momento, pero no hay que confundirnos, el proceso de romance entre ellos dos es lento y se desarrolla poco a poco.
Un romance lento pero emocionante, dónde la traición, la desconfianza y los misterios nos llevarán al límite.
Algunos puntos que sentí que fallaron, fue la falta de desarrollo de los personajes. Fue muy lenta y dió una cambio Taltal al final del libro.
En algunas partes de la historia, sentí que todo quedó estancado y quedaron muchas preguntas sin resolver.
Pero aún así, me gustaría darle oportunidad al siguiente libro para ver si todo esto mejora y te responden las incógnitas que han quedado en este libro.

I cannot describe the extent of my deepest disappointment with this book. being an insane fan of Cora and her books about the Famiglia and the Camorra, each I have read more than once, my heart flutters in indignation at this text.
it would seem that the Irish mob is such an interesting direction. it would be so fascinating to write about it, but from the mafia there is only a zilch. neither the structure of the organization has been disclosed, nor what exactly they are doing. the connection with the Catholic Church could be described in a much richer way. as a result, a bunch of petty bandits living in the slums. there is no tie or denouement. a solid text of an uninteresting story. is it the mafia at all?
some kind of stereotypical representation of the Irish in terms of food and Guinness.
neither traditions nor culture are described.
I even not understood what kind of place Sodom is.
who is Aislinn? for no reason, a smug, stupid girl. she runs around with his sister like a light in the dark. rushes with loud words about honesty, loyalty and family, and behaves like an impenetrable fool every page.
who is Lorcan? a teenager with hormonal problems in the body of an adult man. the only thing he is capable of is pleasing women. as the main character is absolutely insignificant. there's not even anything to say about him.
minor characters flicker just for the background and are of no interest.
none of the Devaney brothers seem to be an interesting hero for further reading.
the fact that the sister finally woke up from a coma and even with amnesia? this is such a hellish nonsense.

I can see many people loving this but this just didn’t work for me and I don’t think I’ll be continuing on in the series. Personally I just don’t enjoy romances where a sexual encounter happens early on. In this book a sexual encounter happened at 13% and I just felt nothing because the characters didn’t know each other. Aislinn and Lorcan got married and I just didn’t care. I wanted to like the side characters but they just didn’t do much for me and I just don’t care about them. The reason why I loved Cora’s books like Twisted Loyalties and Emotions is because I loved the slow development of the relationship between the characters and I just want her to go back to writing like that. I just didn’t care for the Irish mafia like I do her Italian, it just didn’t grip me. Plus I’ve read Serena Akeroyd’s Irish mafia books and they are so good and I couldn’t help but compare this to them. I’m glad Cora had a good time writing this but I didn’t have a good time. I didn’t feel any chemistry between the hero and heroine and this was the perfect chance to have a non virgin heroine but she didn’t go there. A hero saying he will soon take her “pussy, her ass and her mouth” just doesn’t screen romance to me. Plus he has a huge cock which hurt the heroine when he took her virginity but then they did anal where Aislinn experienced fierce pain and that just doesn’t do anything for me personally. Unless I missed it there was no lube used either. To sum up this wasn’t for me but I’m sure others will enjoy it. I’m glad I tried this but I won’t be reading any more of this series. It just didn’t feel like Cora at all, it didn’t feel like a mafia romance to me and the hero didn’t feel alpha. It was just empty to me which is a shame because I love this cover.
