What a fun series. I loved the world Wyn created. Different species coming together to fight the enemy and preserve life for all. We’ve got heros and heroines, some human, some alien who work together, share ideas and find love.

I love science fiction introduced to alien romances with Dianne Duvall’s Aldebarian Alliance series. Wyn made it fun, hot and sexy, while giving me the adventure and suspense I crave in stories. This audiobook comes in at over ninety-eight hours and I broke up my listens by stories, coming back for the next story after a genre change.

The first story sets up the overall story arc and introduces us to the world. Each book has alpha warriors and kick ass humans fighting for their life. Alien technology, weapons, exploration, creatures, plant life and more held me captive. I loved how each story featured a new couple and took us deeper into the world.

The stories are fast-paced, clever, and packed with heat. The stories got better as the series progressed, in part because the world became familiar, but also I think Wyn’s writing of the series tightened.

Piers Ryman narrates and did a great job of bringing voice to so many characters. I loved his male voices and his feminine voices were distinctive enough without sounding scratchy or high pitched. Listening was great, as I am sure I would have butchered some of the alien names, worlds, and languages. I will definitely listen to Ryman again.

If you’re into sci-fi fantasy romance, grab this collection for a binge-worthy listen.

What an amazing saga. I've listened to Elin's works before, so I was excited to delve into this series. I found that Ms. Wyn has a clever simplicity to her craft. By creating some day to day banter and by skimming subtle chores and some post action scenes, it made it easier to slide into the plotlone of the next book.
What kept the pace rolling along is that,
like most, the 1st book is both world and character building as the descriptive writing unfurls bringing the story to life.  Each Hero and Heroine have their own story and adds to the plotline as it thickens, getting lighter, darker, and scarier at various times.
I found the humans and their skills wove cleverly into the alien world, adding more ideals and furthering the complexity of the saga.
The idea of different species coming together to fight a common foe is nothing new in this genre and has echoes of other brilliant works. However, the storyline has its own unique twists and turns and definitely delves into some dark and scary places.
The pace in each book was well spaced, and the rhetoric was simply brilliant, giving each book its own life.
I admire the research Elin must have done as the chemical, botanical, archeological, and medical research was extensive throughout the saga.
Elin created different tones in each book. Ones that let me enjoy a simple romance, others with political platforms and one's where Elin throws me into explorations and adventures something akin to Indiana Jones crossed with Alice in wonderland.
All of the books ranged from humour and wit, lots of descriptive excitement, political parallels, sadness, and angst, with romance and steamy times.
When one dilemma is vanquished, yet another appears.
The 2nd half of the saga seemed to put aliens to the background and more  political agendas in the human world, to the fore. Displaying themes like social status  and xenophobia. However, there is still a good share of alien suspense.  There were questions that weren't necessarily answered in one book but was revealed as thevsage moved on.
All in all, the complete works has it all. Angst, action, suspense, love, steam, romance,  and wonderful dry humour, which is definitely indicative to the British and something I didn't expect in a space opera.  Everything stayed as a mystery right to the very end.
I particularly enjoyed the underlying trope that bought this complete set to its finale.
The amazing thing I need to mention is how Elin Wyn manages to create each Hero and heroine with their own unique personality, which sets a wonderful pace and tone for each instalment. And to have Piers Ryman bring each character to life is beyond superb. His narration with his amazing voice accents and intonations only complemented Elin's craft.

This was such a great series! I highly recommend this to anyone who likes sci-fi romance, or who likes watching sci-fi shows.

Although I own an e-book copy of Vrehx, I never got around to reading it, and while this series was on my radar and in my tbr, I was slightly daunted by the length of it. I was gifted this audiobook of the complete saga, and I am so grateful for it. The storytelling was magnificent, I was fully engaged through every story, the action and the drama of fighting for survival and falling in love, kept me going from book to book. The stories intertwine with the cast of characters growing and interacting from one story to the next, making this feel like a really good television series. Almost every story left you hanging slightly due to the overarching plot, but each romance is solidified within its book. (Except, I feel like Vrehx left very much to be desired, that might be why we got a second story with them. Vrehx's Quest was so incredibly moving, and I don't typically like the baby-logue/slice of life trope.)

The world-building was excellent, particularly in the first half of the series, I felt like it fell off a little toward the end and things felt very less other-worldly, and more Earth-like in the second half, but we were far enough into the story and in a different area when that happened, and I just rolled with it. Each romance was unique enough to not feel repetitive, which in a series this long and listened to consecutively, I feel, is a truly amazing feat.

The narration was excellent, the single narrator made it an easy listening experience. I liked how each species of alien had its own accent, and then there were slight variations within that accent for each member of the species. Even in group settings, it was fairly easy to know who the speaker was before the text stated it. For the women's voices, the narrator used varying degrees of different accents and tones of voice. It was a little harder to discern between a few of them when in group settings, but the context of the conversation and the text always let you know who was speaking.

I read this via Audible. A really fun read and a very good value for the 1 credit I paid. My review will contain some spoilers.

****SPOILERS****
As a whole, I enjoyed the series. It dies have some issues, especially later in the series.

The 1st 6ish books are the best written. There is an overarching plot with many sub plots and each book affects the overarching plot (generally it's the good guys get a small win and many more problems lol). However, after the 1st major arc resolves there are some issues with the writing. There are some noticeable inconsistencies-- things like Vhrex & Jeneva conceived a child bit no one else did; later, there is an offhand comment about the alien males having contraception implants; then, later with no explanation PM surprises Dotty with news that she's expecting after becoming an alien mate (but how?) and several books later there is zero discussion of it by others. Also, each book after those of the first arc are not really complete books with a defined ending. They instead have epilogues that function as endings with regards to the couple of that book. But as to the larger arc, there is never a sense of whether the heroes are getting a win or loss. Instead, each book introduces new problems, with the author literally having the characters either ignore potentially useful or problematic info (e.g., Mackey was given some critical info but as of the 2nd to last book nothing was done with it), or saying "i don't know what it is" or "i don't know what to do." And this happens until the larger arc resolves. I think it is why the series begins to drag and feel repetitive after that first arc as some other commenters have noted.

That said, I still really enjoyed the people and the world. And I believe a large part of that was the narrator. He is quite talented, handling several accents and people in the same setting with the same accent but different dialects. Was it perfect? Probably not. But the narration definitely helped carry the series past the writing flaws.

Overall, it was really enjoyable. I will be looking out for other works by this author to see if they've improved.

The series has 18 books in it. It is 98 hours long and I listened to most of it while taking my daily walks. It is 18 different romances that start when an alien ship causes a portal to open above a planet inhabited by descendants of humans from Earth. Two ships fall through the portal to the planet below. One full of 'good' aliens, and one full of bad ones. The entire series takes place on this planet and involves human-alien love stories and first the battles to rid the planet of the bad aliens and then the fights to rebuild the ravaged planet and save its human inhabitants.

I was given a copy of this audio book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Amazing narration from Piers Ryman, who makes this a great listen. He brings out the characters, the humour and steam.

This is one amazing boxset of 18 books of amazing sci-fi action romance, that will keep you wanting to listen to each book.

You will meet, walking trees, giant spiders, and then bloodthirsty vines. In between we have wonderful characters, alien and human. Stubborn females, alien males, who want to keep them safe from attack. A wonder listen.

I love this series!

I wish there was more books in the series. I hated to stop reading even to sleep. The church ice me to life for me and I wanted to know more about their futures together.
