PS, I LOVE YOU tells the story of childhood sweethearts, Holly and Gerry. No one could imagine Holly and Gerry without each other - until the unthinkable happens and Gerry's death devastates Holly. But as her 30th birthday looms, Holly discovers a bundle of notes from Gerry, one for each of the months after his death, gently guiding Holly into her new life without him, each note signed 'PS, I Love You'. As the notes are opened, the man who knows Holly better than anyone sets out to teach her that life goes on. With some help from her friends, and her noisy and loving family, Holly finds herself laughing, crying, singing, dancing – and being braver than ever before.

I read this book because it also deals with lists of people, like my novel Listing Men. While the books have very little in common, I did enjoy One Hundred Names as an examination about how seemingly disparate people do have connections. I found the characters on the list to be more compelling than the protagonist tasked by her dead mentor to find and link their stories.

I liked the overall premise of the book but the pacing was off for me. I know the point is reading about Holly getting through the day to day of life but it became tedious and then major elements (such as the resolution with Daniel) felt very rushed.
