When the entire Montgomery family comes together, it makes for a holiday to remember.
But it’s more than just the tree, decorations, and gifts that have everyone talking. With so many people crammed under one roof, there’s bound to be some drama. Between last-minute business crises, talks of retirement, a new relationship, a sprinkle of marital problems, lots of snow, and a surprise baby, this has all the makings of a blue Christmas. They’ll need more than one Christmas miracle to get everything back on track, and hopefully Santa–or William Montgomery–will come to the rescue.
One thing’s for sure, it’s a Christmas they’ll be talking about for years to come.
Samantha Chase is a New York Times and USA Today bestseller of contemporary romance that’s hotter than sweet, sweeter than hot. She released her debut novel in 2011 and currently has more than seventy titles under her belt – including THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE which was a Hallmark Christmas movie in 2017! She’s a Disney enthusiast who still happily listens to 80’s rock. When she’s not working on a new story, she spends her time reading romances, playing way too many games of Solitaire on Facebook, wearing a tiara while playing with her sassy pug Maylene…oh, and spending time with her husband of 30 years and their two sons in Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Ok, if you’ve read the rest of this series this is probably a really good book. However, I haven’t read the rest of them and as a standalone this one was only ok. There was a lot going on with all the families and it felt hard to keep them all straight. It did make me want to read the others though because mention of history seemed interesting. Maybe I’ll come redo this after trying to catch up on the others.
5 Star Review A Merry Montgomery Christmas (The Montgomery Brothers #11) by Samantha Chase
Ebook/Audio I love any story that is centred around Christmas; it’s a time for family and friends to get together and celebrate life. I enjoy Samantha Chase’s style of writing; her characters are engaging and A Merry Montgomery Christmas kept me entertained from the first to the last chapter. When the whole Montgomery clan get together for the holidays you know that you are in for story that will have you laughing, swooning and entertained. Of course, it would not be a Montgomery story without the head of the family William Montgomery and his matchmaking. This adds an additional layer to the story. He is determined that all of his family will get their own happily ever after, he is such a wonderful character. Full of love, family, romance, and drama it was wonderful being back with the Montgomery’s. Narrator Kevin T Collins did a fabulous job. His performance brought the story to life for me and I found myself captivated by the story. He used multiple voices and his voice was easy to listen too.
The Montgomery family is all under the same roof for Christmas this year, which is no small feat considering they’re now fifty-something strong. A massive Blue Ridge mountain home brings the family together from all across the country to reconnect, catch up, and celebrate the holidays.
As reunion books go, this one is done incredibly well. It’s been years since I’ve read any of the Montgomery books and, while a family tree might have been helpful, I never felt lost or confused with so many people. The story kept my attention from beginning to end as I caught up with beloved characters and got a teaser for a new series.
With a new baby, growing pains, career questions, injuries, and some wounded pride, there’s never a dull moment with this massive extended family. But family trumps all, and gratitude and appreciation are at the heart of this holiday story.
And if patriarch, William Montgomery, hasn’t let go of his matchmaking ways, especially with the next generation growing up, you won’t hear any complaints from me since it opens the door for many more stories involving beloved characters. Heartfelt, humorous, and filled with comfort and joy, this is just the thing to put you in the holiday spirit, so don’t miss it!
I went into this not knowing that it this was already part of a serious but that didn't seem to matter because I quickly figured who everyone was and how much I just now invested into this family and have to go back and read all the other books.
I love how this story is revolved around family, love and the Christmas holiday season! It was fun, heartwarming and humbling to see such a massive family together all under one roof to celebrate the holidays. 54 people to be exact!
I love that William is the matchmaker (not a spoiler if you've read prior books plus in prologue) it was fun to see all the couples and their children.
I can't wait to read Noah's story (coming soon) since this touched lightly on his and Lily's time together at the house.
Definitely a fun, sweet, heartfelt read and perfect for the holiday season.
If you haven't gotten into Samantha Chase's Montgomery series yet, I highly recommend it. (Though this one isn't the one to tip your toe in with.) You don't need to have read all of the previous books, but it would help to have read some of them in order to fully enjoy A Merry Montgomery Christmas.
All the sibs and cousins, and all of their kids, converge on a huge hotel-like estate to celebrate Christmas week. Lots of fun family interaction action, and even a budding romance, it was marvelous.
The audio is beautifully performed by Kevin T. Collins.
an audiobook copy of A Merry Montgomery Christmas was provided by Dreamscape Media for the purpose of my honest review, all opinions are my own
I love when you fall in love with a series and then down the road, the author gives you a sort of "where are they now".
For those of you who have enjoyed the Montgomery Brothers series, this will be SUCH A TREAT for you. Filled with all the things we have loved from this series,l as a whole, plus a bit of holiday magic.
If you haven't read the whole series, it's a big family so it may be a bit difficult to keep up with everything going on. But overall the perfect holiday read! 🤍🎄✨
This is truly an enjoyable book! A fun adventure for the holidays. All the members of the Montgomery family celebrate Christmas together, spending 2 weeks in the same house. It's a feel-good, funny & moving romance. Catching up with all the Montgomery's & new friends. There's much to love about The Merry Montgomery Christmas. Great descriptions, beloved characters, engaging family dynamics that kept me reading, and a happy ending. Can't wait to read Irresistible Love! I adored this book & recommend this Must Read Christmas Story!
⭐️4/5 | 🌶️ 2/5 | Family Christmas Vacation | Close Proximity | Family Dynamics | Match Making | 3 Generations | The Montgomery Brothers Series
This was fun, cozy, heartwarming, and will get you in the Christmas spirit. If you’ve read any of the Montgomery Brothers Series books, you know that this was going to be a crazy ride. All 55 of the Montgomery’s spent Christmas and New Year’s together, and it was beautifully chaotic, funny, and sweet. I can only imagine how fun it would’ve been to partake in this crazy holiday with them. Consider this an extended epilogue for all the couples from the series – prepare to swoon!
Now, if you aren’t familiar with the clan, you will have to acquaint yourself with the Family tree, so you do not get confused. There are 3 generations here, and despite not having read all the books, I was still able to get a glimpse of each of the characters personalities, each couple’s dynamics, and their relationships with their kids. There isn’t any heavy plot or drama here, just very relatable issues that pave the way to showing us how important communication and compromise is in every relationship whether romantic or parental in nature.
This was simply a feel-good read and I loved seeing it from a 3rd person perspective. With them all having built an empire and having successful careers all on their own, I loved seeing how humble and grounded each of them were. I absolutely love William Montgomery being the head and self-imposed matchmaker of the family and his perspective will give you so much laughter and warmth. This opens to a new spin-off series Wylder Love beginning with Lily and Noah; Lily being the eldest of the 3rd generation of Montgomery’s and I am SO EXCITED for this!
** Thank you so much Valentine PR and Samantha Chase for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review. **
This turned out to be an amazing few days spent with the Montgomery clan! At first, I thought it would be a bit daunting because this family goes way back and I wasn’t sure I’d connect with some of the older couples from way back in the day, but it turned out to be a smooth delightful ride all the way thru!
You can’t really have a family get-together of this size and expect no hiccups or that everything will be smooth sailing and in this, Samantha wrote a realistic and relatable tale full of hope and love, a little anger and some jealousy, thoughtfulness and generosity, excitement and intensity, shenanigans here and there and a whole lot of holiday magic! And of course, William is still trying to do his thing! *wink* lol
Narration wise, this is a first for me, not just in the person narrating, but also the length in 3rd person POV. It’s not really my favorite of ways to experience an audiobook and I did pause my listening more often than I usually would. I couldn’t say with certainty whether listening or reading this story would be better because I haven’t actually read the story, but my gut tells me I might have probably gotten a bit more lost in the story and not paused so much had I been reading it. It’s a me thing. *shrug*

It's Montgomery Mayhem! The entire Montgomery family and a few extras are under one roof for Christmas for two weeks which means over 50 people and lots of emotions, mayhem, fun and accidents are sure to be had! This was my first foray into the Montgomery world and what an introduction it was! It was so awesome to have one book cover so many different couples' perspectives at once. I felt like I got a crash course in the family, much like the character Noah did as well! Being an OCD reader, it pains me to read a book out of order, but this book sounded good, had a Christmas theme which I was in the mood for and was readily available to me so I jumped on it. I am so very glad that I did! I can't wait to go back and read the books in order and really dive into the Montgomery family deep end! Which means that I have 9 books waiting for me to devour! I am so ready to get started. The characters are so relatable and charming while being wildly diverse in personalities that I can't wait to get to know the entire family even better and I would bet we are just getting started as I feel there has to be a future book for Noah as well! If you want a good, clean romance with a hint of steam then this series needs to be cued up and on your TBR list! FYI: This book is available in audiobook so I would bet the entire series is as well. The audio was fantastic so I can't wait to hear even more!
This audio book provided an enjoyable experience, even for a newcomer like me. The family dynamics and Christmas theme added depth to the story, creating a rich tapestry of emotions and interactions. Despite my initial unfamiliarity with the characters, I quickly became invested in their lives and found their experiences to be relatable and heartfelt.
What stood out the most was the seamless blending of intricate family relationships with the festive atmosphere of the holiday season. The narration skillfully brought the characters to life, making their joys and struggles all the more vivid. Exploring the various family members' perspectives gave the story a multi-dimensional quality, allowing me to fully immerse myself in their world.
This audio book offers a captivating journey into the complexities of family bonds, coupled with the warmth of Christmas spirit. Whether you're a dedicated fan of the series or a newcomer like me, this audio adventure promises an engaging and heartfelt experience that resonates long after the last chapter.
Thank you Valentine PR & Samantha Chase for an eARC of A Merry Montgomery Christmas!
While I have NOT read the other Montgomery Brothers books (there are 10!), I still really enjoyed this book! You get a peak into the lives of each family as they gather for the holidays & some of the drama they’re dealing with. I had a little trouble keeping track of all the families & what was going on with each, but I love Samantha’s writing & she makes it enjoyable even for those of us who haven’t read about these characters before.
I love that this story kind of serves as an epilogue to the books that came before it & sets the stage for the next generation & their love stories. After reading this I definitely want to read Irresistible Love, the first book in the Wylder Love series coming in January, featuring Lily Montgomery & Noah Wylder!
if you’re a fan of..
🎄family Christmas / holiday vibes 🎄close proximity 🎄grumpy/sunshine 🎄all the drama (but nothing too dramatic) 🎄match making 🎄closed door romance
A Merry Montgomery Christmas is book # 10 in Samantha Chase’s Montgomery Family series. It didn’t stand well alone for me, so I’m disappointed that I didn’t read the first 9 books first so I could truly appreciate this family! While it did have a lot of warm, Christmas cheer, the other notable thing that stuck out to me was the very strong sense of family ties.
Families are not without their drama and The Montgomery family is no exception, but the author does a great job creating strong female characters that warrant the attention of such swoon-worthy men. The experiences in this book were entertaining and relatable, being from a large, loud, energetic family myself. When you get a large extended family together under 1 roof for 2 weeks, a lot can happen. Add in a dose of holiday cheer, and fans of Samantha Chase will not be disappointed.
I do recommend ready most if not all of the first 9 books prior to this one. Enjoy!
This was a great story to get in the holiday spirit!! The novel emphasizes the importance of family throughout multiple povs. There are fun, drama-filled, loving, and emotional moments that add so much to the story. The characters are genuine and extremely lovable. Overall, the book is entertaining and heartwarming.
The one letdown is that while this book is marketed as a book that can be read as a stand alone, I think it’s missing a lot of important concepts from the rest of the series if you read this one on its own. I sadly haven’t read the first 9 books in the series which most likely would have added much more emotional connection and understanding for the characters in the family.
I would definitely recommend reading this book if you’ve enjoyed the other books in the series. This cozy read is perfect for the Christmas season.
Thank you Valentine PR and Samantha Chase for the ARC!
I loved being back with the Montgomery’s and seeing all the couples with children (some grown) was so interesting! The family is large and full of colorful characters, but William still is my favorite❤️ Lily is a granddaughter and she is a sassy, at times bratty, character that has a book that features Noah and some time with granddad, William, and parents, Lucas and Emma. Each chapter takes on a different couple or day at the family Christmas and New Years holiday. We see family time with the huge 54 lot of them and also individual couple or family time. Even though it is a holiday there was some work drama, family changes and emotions all over. The ending is precious and I liked seeing the whole family even thoughts who would be “outsiders” such as widowed in laws, new dates, parents of the in law, etc. as it showed how loving and crazy this family is! Noah was a new addition and his book, the first in a spin-off series, is with Lilly and is fantastic!
I absolutely love Samantha Chase books and this one didn’t disappoint at all!! The entire Montgomery family, all 54 of them, are together for Christmas. William and Monica hire an enormous house so that they can all celebrate but of course this comes with drama and everyone has their own stresses and life decisions to make. What I really loved was how everyone is connected, their individual lives and where they fit in to the family is explained in the first few chapters. The Montgomery family are so supportive of each other and welcome others into the family fold easily. The continuous thread running through is love, friendship and how important family is. Each character is definitely an individual as is each relationship. Romance, drama, all age groups covered and a sense of belonging make this a fabulous festive read. Fingers crossed there are more Montgomery family books to come!! Thank you to the publisher, Valentine PR and Literary Management and Netgalley for the ARC
A Merry Montgomery Christmas is the 11th book in the Montgomery Brothers Series, but can be read as a standalone.
This is the perfect time of year for this beautiful Christmas story. It’s about family, friends, and togetherness. Loved getting the whole Montgomery clan back together again. So many people under one roof a lot is bound to happen. Loved the banter, drama, slight angsty times, the sass, the sexy times. This story kept me laughing and entertained. Loved how even though the couples were going through their own slight issues with in the story they all rallied around one another to provide love and support. Of course, we couldn’t go with out William Montgomery playing matchmaker. He is the real time Cupid, wanting for his whole family to have love in their life, and I am here for it. I hope there is a follow up to the new couple that might be brewing. The narration by Kevin T Collins was just a chefs kiss. So many characters and he still managed to make each one their own. He was great to listen to and kept me engaged. Great listen and a quick read.
I voluntarily reviewed a complementary copy of an ALC.
The holidays can bring a lot of joy and happiness, but when you have a large family it can also mean chaos. This book was written in multiple POV which was great for seeing the family dynamic from a different set of eyes. You could tell this family loved one another through the pages.
I would definitely recommend reading the previous books in this series to enjoy this book even more. If you’re looking for a book to get you in the holiday spirit then you should add this one to your TBR.
The family shenanigans were a ton of fun to read and I can only imagine the chaos that ensues with that many people in a single house; it was relatable. But admittedly, I didn't enjoy the amount of names shoved into this book; it was too much. It felt like a challenge to see how many names the author could name in the book and it was a lot. I was however, very invested in the budding relationship between Noah and Lily, I can't wait to read on to follow them on their journey!
If you have read the full series you will love this book but if you haven’t you are missing out, I will say this isn’t a stand-alone but what a cute little Christmas book for a series a loved! I like how the author tried to give each couple a place to shine!
I absolutely loved this book. It was like meeting up with old friends again and catching up on what they’ve been doing. This family will always be my favorite of Samantha Chase’s.
This is my first holiday book of the season and has me in the Christmas mood. I loved this series and was excited when I heard about this book, and it did not disappoint. I love the character, the banter between them and the glimpses into their lives. Such an enjoyable read!
They are back, they are back!!! I'm so happy that Samantha decided to write this book. I loved every book in Montgomerys series, so read this Christmas book is candle on the top of the cake. This year whole clan is meeting for Christmas, we get a glance how their lives is now. I loved, loved this addition to the series.
Thank you Samantha, you made my day, month and year with this one.
I just love a good Christmas storyline and so far this is one of the best.
William Montgomery, the forever matchmaker at it again. This book will have you laughing through until the end.
The Montgomerys are now one of my new favorite families of Samantha Chase books. The banter between all of them was believable and so much fun to read. I wanna share all that there is to this story, but I don't want to ruin it all for the reader.
Just know this book is so warm and inviting.. for all I will be back for more ..
This was such a great book. It is book 10 in a series. However, I had no issues with loving this book or knowing the characters without first reading the other books. I loved all the family and the individual characters. The author did an amazing job introducing the characters so new readers can still enjoy the book. I loved all the drama and watching out it all unfolded. This family shows how to be a family and realizing compromises and seeing other points of view are important. I will be looking into this series now and can't wait to find out more about these characters.
Samantha Chase has done it again and has delivered another incredible romance with A Merry Montgomery Christmas, the tenth book in her Montgomery Brothers series. I loved the A Merry Montgomery Christmas, I have only read one other book in the series, but have others already on my iPad and will be catching up on the series soon. Samantha Chase has once again provided her readers with amazing characters. I love all the characters in A Merry Montgomery Christmas, they feel like family! Who does not love hot sexy men, strong, passionate females, and big loving families, who always support one another? I cannot wait to see how Samantha Chase makes her magic again and creates the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy men. Samantha Chase continues to deliver all that and so much more. Reading A Merry Montgomery Christmas felt like catching up at a family reunion and seeing how the lives of the other characters in the series have changed and all the babies have grown into young adults! I so enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Samantha Chase has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller and continues to be one of my favorite authors to read. A Merry Montgomery Christmas did not disappoint; it was impossible to put it down and I loved every moment on every page. I enjoy how Samantha Chase writes from the perspective of the characters. That way you get to know what is going on in their minds. A Merry Montgomery Christmas is a wonderful love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud and the bittersweet moments that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. A Merry Montgomery Christmas is filled with such moments, and with so much more. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a Samantha Chase love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. A Merry Montgomery Christmas is the story of the extended Montgomery family getting together for Christmas and New Year’s. I love the chemistry of all the couples. I love that William is once again trying to make his magic between his oldest granddaughter, Lily, a dancer, and Noah Wylder, an employee of Montgomerys. Lily is not interested men, who wear suits. I love the moments that they share together, even if she is not interested in men like Noah. I love the way that the Montgomerys embraced Noah like family. Then an unexpected plot twist changes Lily’s attitude. My favorite part is how Samantha Chase incorporates personal information and other book information into the love story. Another favorite part of the book is she describes the house and its surroundings. It makes me want to visit. I love all the heart-to-heart conversations that take place among all the Montgomerys. I love the characters and the family dynamic in A Merry Montgomery Christmas and catching up with the other characters in the series, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoy all the interactions among the Montgomery siblings and cousins it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. Samantha Chase’s descriptions are so real, I was right there with the Montgomerys. I loved the story and am hoping that both Lily and Noah get their happily ever after. I love all the surprises that Samantha Chase has included in A Merry Montgomery Christmas. My favorite part in the book is the epilogue and how it wraps up all the details of the happily ever after, and it did not disappoint. A Merry Montgomery Christmas contains all the elements that I have love most in a Samantha Chase story, romance, great characters and setting, bittersweet moments and the plot twist that ties it all together. Amazing story. I could not put it down. Highly recommend this family reunion Christmas love story. I will definitely be catching up on the Montgomery Brothers series, especially the ones already on my iPad. I love reading matchmaking love stories. Received an advanced copy from the author.
A Merry Montgomery Christmas by Samantha Chase, is the eleventh book in the Montgomery Brothers Series, this time all the Montgomerys will meet for the holidays in one place, everything gets a little complicated when all these families begin to do the trip to the retreat, we know how stressful traveling can be and something always happens, adding to that and although it's a vacation, many of them will have to work for a few hours due to a merger coming up for the new year, and more circumstances of daily life that will cause some tension in these beloved couples. But let's leave it all in the hands of William Montgomery, our favorite matchmaker, to do what is necessary to make these dates memorable for everyone, and although it seems unlikely, he can start moving the chips to create a new couple. This story left me with a full heart and a smile on my lips, enjoying again these couples that we fell in love with in each of their stories, now with their children, all under one roof was completely wonderful, this is one of those stories that become comforting and you will going back to it. We know that each of these couples had their happily ever after and it's in this story that they remind us that a happily ever after is not the end but the beginning of another stage, where as adults and parents they face one or another drama and problems, but they are able to overcome it thanks to the love, support, trust and understanding between them. I fell even more in love with this family and I tell you to go look for this book, cozzy up and enjoy these stories with the Montgomerys in a perfect atmosphere forthe holidays celebrations. Highly recommended! *Thanks to Samantha Chase and Valentine PR & Literary Management for my ARC. I voluntarily leave my honest review*
¡Altamente Recomendada! *Gracias a Samantha Chase y a Valentine PR & Literary Management por mi ARC. This is a sequel to the Montgomery Brothers’ series by Samantha Chase. That series consists of eleven books in which William, the family patriarch, decides to become a matchmaker to his family. He starts with his sons and then moves onto his nieces and nephews until they are all married.
This book is very interesting because the first eleven chapters each correlate with the first eleven books in the original series. I you are one of the readers, like me, who love to get updates about past characters, this is the book to read. It is now years later and readers love joining William and his family, all fifty-plus of them, as they all decide to spend their latest Christmas holiday together. This includes husbands, wives and their children and grandchildren. The family rents out a huge hotel so they can all be together this year during the Christmas and New Year season.
All of these family members are happily married and live blissfully with their children and their extended family members nearby. However, what no one realizes is that all of these family members still have a lot of the same idiosyncrasies and eccentric behaviors that they had when they were younger. Therefore, they are all surprised to encounter a lot of unexpected drama and problems to complicate this one-of-a-kind family reunion.
During this reunion, family must deal with a last minute business merger, some marital and children problems, retirement discussions, an abundance of snow that keeps them inside for a while, and a surprise visitor. These all cause unexpected complications in the family’s huge holiday plans.
There is also a visitor from William’s work, Noah, who joins the party as he brings the contract for the last minute business merger. When William decides Noah would be a good match for his eldest granddaughter, Lily, he decides to dust off his matchmaking skills to do whatever he can to make it happen. This causes even more drama between the families who do not want to see William start matching up the younger family members.
This is a fantastic story for lovers of the Montgomery Brothers who will be able to catch up on the lives of this beloved family. It is fun to read and very realistic in many ways. Plus, in the end of the book, readers will be ecstatic whey they realize that this author has just begun a new love story in the Montgomery Brothers – maybe call it The Next Generation.
“The room was covered in wrapping paper and filled with laughter. Basically, it was the perfect christmas morning.” 🧸🎄🎁❄️💌🍷 A MERRY MONTGOMERY CHRISTMAS REVIEW (ARC) 4/5 ★’s • • • Remember in Home Alone 1 when there are over 20 of them in a single home? This book was basically the hallmark Christmas version of Home Alone, and full house - COMBINED!💌 I was so grateful to receive an arc by the amazing @samanathachase but when I finally dived into this sweet treat of a book, it felt so loving, cozy, and familiar to me. You all know I’m a super open book & every book i love always touches a piece of my heart no matter what. This book was no different, and i’m so glad that it did. For reference, my parents divorced when i was 16, now even though i enjoy my split holidays, i have all my childhood memories surrounded with our large family being together, over 20 of us in one big household, sharing rooms, opening presents, enjoying each others company & realizing that Christmas will always be better together. So naturally, reading about the entire Montgomery family spending their Christmas in a huge house with over 50 of them for the next 2 weeks of holidays felt so much like coming home, as if i jumped back in time a good 10 years ago when I was 5 years old stealing cookies from my aunt's kitchen & being chased around by my cousins on Christmas morning. Besides this beautiful book feeling like a big warm cup of hot cocoa on Christmas morning, it displayed all the beautiful meanings of family & not conditional, but forever unconditional love. Despite each couple going through their respective struggles when they’re called to the Montgomery house, they all pack it up & they go. Why, you ask? As you dive further into the book you start piecing together that family is their everything. William Montgomery (where it all started) is always joyful to see his successful match making skills in action once again. Each chapter of this book holds warm & cozy comfort, an absolutely perfect read when you need to feel loved, taken care of, and most of all included just in time for the holidays. I doubt Samantha made this book with the intentions of making anyone cry, but she sure made me. Happy tears, ofc! The family dynamic despite the unwavering struggles that arise, are all real life and down-to-earth struggles with truly all loving & affectionate solutions provided by the Montgomery family, also known as the most perfect family to spend your holidays with. 💌
