*Congratulations! You Are the Last Survivor of the Hell-Games**You Have Gained Back Your Freedom*Huh? One moment I was running from demons and other competitors trying to do me in, the next I was thrown back into yet another realm. Before me some Princess starts explaining she had asked the gods for Champions to help save her world in these dire times… and I was part of the chosen heroes.Yeah, right! I had been in Hell long enough to know that I shouldn’t trust my senses when it all seemed too good to be true. I was probably just under the spell of a mind-flayer or affected by an illusion cast by another competitor. Ever since I had died and my soul had been snatched by a Demon Lord to be dropped into these infernal games, it had been nothing but tricks and traps at every turn. But as I flee the castle and find a bolt-hole where to pull myself together, it slowly dawns on me that this new world might be real after all. Yes, I may have successfully escaped Hell! Still, if I’m to trust what the Princess said, I now face a new threat that’s just as deadly, with dragons invading the cities en masse… And I’m certainly no match in my current state. If the other Champions have been blessed by their patron deity and been allowed to level up by practicing their skills, I’m still very much reliant on my Hell-System to fuel my abilities. And as such, if I want to become stronger, I fear I won’t have a choice but to find a way back to Hell to gain more Infernal points—the same that allowed me to survive all these years in this nightmarish place. But am I really ready to do this? Even if I do manage to get back in, am I ready to risk everything for these strangers? What if I get stuck again? What if I bring something even worse than a dragon from my trip back?
Poor beginning but good ending. More hope for the 2nd book
The ending was good. I hated the first 3 quarters of the book. The mc was a coward and logically should have died since he was to scared to fight fir power. Hiding only works for a short time. Running away from fights you can win is beyond stupid especially if killing and eating your enemies is how you get stronger.
He did eventually start to get a backbone though so I have more hope for book 2. He is obviously untrusting do to his past but he's growing in that albeit slowly
honestly it’s pretty rushed but holy, the concept, character developments and overall theme of this story is amazing. (spoiler) the princess is not a typical written female character nor are the others, they have personality, ambitions and so on. Not annoying or anything like that!!! the ending chapter is honestly so cute and this story was a good short read
Just does it right. This is not complex, it does not have multifaceted characters, it is not an epic setting. What it is is a really good story told well. This is an easy book to give five stars to.
The author's other books I read were okay. I hope this is a fun read, I really need it.
This reads like another book I read. Person is summoned "to be a hero", but this wasn't his first Rodeo. They also distrust the summoners.
This was okay. It would have been great if he could have twisted the Hell magic to work for him, but the book was entertaining without the loophole abuse of the "system".
Wow. A LitRPG novel that is really good. Great plot. Great pacing. Good characters. No weird first person. Truly good. It isn’t very crunchy, no blue screens etc.. While the LitRPG elements are there, progression isn’t a huge part of the story. This is a plus or minus depending on the readers tastes.
Excellent litrpg fantasy, that is truly a complete story, Great one shot read with a complete ending. Recommended for lovers of progression fantasy and litrpg. With even a little romance thrown in. Read it you won't be disappointed.
I've been impressed with this authors work for a long time now. Everything he writes is deeply immersive, and the characters a extremely well fleshed out. I hope this wasn't a one off, as I would love to see more of this world.
So a bit of a disclaimer. This book might be totally fine if I were in the mood to stick with it. I was just too bored with it and wasn’t enjoying the story. Maybe it was a bit too dark? Not sure. I bet most people would like it though. Which is why I gave it 4 stars.
For some reason, this was a really hard book to get into. It was very well written and had amazing character development, so it is well worth the read. It just might not be for everyone.
Nine, isekai'd to Hell, is the sole survivor of his kind, finds himself rewarded by being sent to a mode traditional fantasy world with 4 others from Earth. Good action, characters and story.
The first quarter of this book is a tad bit of a slog. But after about the 140 mark it gets going. Takes a bit to get there and probably could have done with a good editor but overall a good read.
This would probably be good if it were edited for clarity and stupid mistakes. It’s all very dark and stormy night. My favourite clanger was when he cut off the spider queen’s legs and a paragraph later she was waving them around merrily. Via telekinesis, perhaps.
Great book, incredible concept, wonderful characters all around, it is one of the best I've read. Don't want to give anything away, so I'll just mention that I highly recommend this book!
A solid LitRPG lite book. I appreciate the book is self-contained and not part of what will turn into a 15 book series. Author did a great job creating an MC that gets the job done, but is neither OP nor free from the trauma that turned him into what he is.
Alternative universe with a demon as the “good” hero. Nicely done. I look forward to more adventures with 9. Tales told about heroes ,champions even, tilted a bit .
