"Bennett quickly lures readers into the story with the first meeting between Jeff and Cass, whose attraction is palpable from the start, and brings the intensity of rock and roll culture to life through vivid depictions of the personality clashes between musicians, the stress that accompanies recording an album, and the toll that touring takes on band members and their significant others."-- Booklife Reviews, Editor's Pick
I liked this a lot. The characters were strong and deeply nuanced. Their connection felt authentic, as did their struggles. The author did an amazing job conveying the backstage life of the 70s and 80s music scenes. Very warm and enjoyable.

What begins as a whirlwind romance soon becomes a rollercoaster of highs and lows as Cassandra navigates the glamour and chaos of Jeff's stardom, only to find herself sidelined by the dark underbelly of the music industry.
One of the most compelling aspects of "Flipping the Record" is its richly drawn characters. Cassandra is a fiercely independent and resilient protagonist whose passion for music is matched only by her determination to carve out her own path in a male-dominated industry. Her complex relationship with Jeff, a charismatic yet troubled figure, forms the emotional heart of the story, as they grapple with love, betrayal, and the relentless pressures of fame.

A second chance Rockstar romance ... my reading Crack!
I found this book recently in a mammoth book giveaway; I had never heard of this author before, but I'll be searching her out from here on in. Set in a time period before computers and cell phones; the era of all powerful recording companies and horribly behaving rock legends. Shares some similarities to Daisy Jones, but I found the heroine more likable and relatable. Our hero is already a world-renowned band member when he encounters the young female session player and song writer at a recording studio. What follows is so much romance, bad behavior and personal growth, and a second chance with actions that prove readiness for that second chance. I loved it.
"Flipping the Record" is a nostalgic romance set in the 1970s and 1980s music eras. The dialogue between the two main characters transports the reader into the scene. Cass, a studio musician determined to follow her own dreams, is swept up in love with rock star Jeff. Their relationship is both troubled and passionate. There are spicy scenes in the book, but they’re not gratuitous and instead enhance the plot of the romance. If you’re a fan of music nostalgia and love stories, you’ll love this book.

Gets you heart-deep into the fickle world of the music industry. Bennett has you living and breathing in this world we've all only dreamed of. Full of passion, heart-ache and redemption. It's a must read for anyone who's heart beats faster when their favorite music plays.
I don't normally read romance novels, but this one kept my attention and I finished it quickly! I loved the music theme. It's about a female musician's struggle finding her place not only in the music industry, but also in the life of the rockstar she loves."
Another great read from Ms. Bennett, following a group of musicians, especially a romantic couple in the 1970s to the 1980s!!! I have really enjoyed her three stories I have read and am anxious to read her 4th book from the same musical era!!!
What could be better than a romantic story about seventies music and second chances? “Flipping the Record” by Heather J Bennett is no exception. Cass and Jeff will draw you in from the beginning and will leave you smiling long after you’ve read the last page.
