Moving back to Scarlet Ridge was supposed to be my fresh start, but the bitterness of lost opportunities clashes with the warmth of nostalgia, forcing me to confront not only my past but a fiery spark that refuses to fade.
It’s the annual fall festival in Scarlet Ridge and my mother has insisted I bid for a date in a silent auction in an attempt to get me back onto the dating scene. I bid the bare minimum, hoping to get her off my back while ensuring a loss, but when my name is called as the last winner, it doesn’t take long to realize her meddling ways have risen to new heights.
When I’m introduced to my bachelor, I realize I’ve won a date with the one man I want to forget ever existed. But he’s not the Jamie I remember, and I’m not the girl he left behind.
If you love strong men who are a little rough around the edges but always seem to melt like a big marshmallow for the women they love, second chances, and small mountain towns, then check out Jameson and Marley's story today!
There’s something in these mountains that seems to attract a healthy population of the biggest and hottest men around. Scarlet Ridge men are just made different. They're rugged, hot, and ready to love. They won’t ever cheat, are hopelessly devoted to the woman they love, and will always do what it takes to guarantee a HEA with zero cliffhangers.
Ren Booth writes steamy, instalove stories featuring over the top heroes who are a little rough around the edges and the curvy ladies who make them melt. She doesn't write cliffhangers or cheaters and a happily-ever-after is always guaranteed. Ren lives deep in the Appalachian Mountains with her hubby, a couple of kids, and her fur babies. When she's not reading or writing, you can usually find her making memories with her loved ones.
Separated as teenagers, Jamie and Marley never got over their feelings for each other. With a little nudge and circumstances beyond their control, they’re brought back together, again but past hurt complicates things. A sweet but spicy, very romantic second chance novella that satisfies and made me go, “Awwwwwwww” after reading.

MMC/FMC- Jameson and Marley POV- 1st person dual Genre- Contemporary Romance Sub Genre- Mountain Man Romance Length- novella Heat- it takes them awhile, but they do the deed and name the parts. Series? Y Safety: No cheating/sharing, no S. Violence, no OW/OM drama, no cliffhanger, HEA. Triggers- explicit erotic content, language Tropes- Bachelor Auction, Second Chance, Forced Proximity, BBW, Instalove What I liked- I found the combination of Second Chance and Instalove interesting- if you had asked me about it, I’d have said that that’s a contradiction, but it really works here. I liked Marley. She has ethics; she refused to take advantage of Jameson while he was drunk. And I thought it showed maturity when she was frank and honest with him about what she was thinking, what her hangups were, and what her feelings were. What I didn’t- I didn’t feel like he was really listening to her when she was first being honest. He made it about himself. I was glad when he was honest in his own turn and started to really hear her. For a short book, there was a lot of character development. Verdict- I enjoyed it and recommend it.

Jameson is book 7 in the Mountain Men of Scarlett Ridge series. It is a short and steamy, second-chance, curvy girl gets her mountain man romance. Marley is a sassy curvy girl who has just moved back to Scarlett Ridge after a bad breakup. Jameson is a hunky contractor who is also back home after the same thing. He and Marley would spend summers together and had feelings for each other until he hurt her at 17. They reconnect when she wins him at a fall festival bachelor auction. Even though she is a bit wary, sparks fly again. Can these two give love a chance? Or will their past hurts keep them apart? The chemistry was off the charts, and we got an amazing HEA. Loved this short and spicy read.

I love these two characters. The banter between the two is so good. Jameson and Marley are both recently single after breaking up with their significant other. They both find themselves back in their hometown of Scarlett Ridge. Jameson has been in love with Marley since they were seventeen, but let the peer pressure of his brothers teasing cause him to mistreat her.
Marley is hurt and has trust issues and after Jameson broke her heart she doesn’t know if she can trust him again.
Talk about second chances. The steam between the two is hot. This is a great quick read. I love all the alpha mountain men of Scarlett Ridge.

This is a second chance romance, it is a short read but sweet and a little bit steamy. Ren Booth hasn’t disappointed with this book. Jameson is part of the scarlet ridge series, even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone.
Jameson has just moved back to Scarlet Ridge after a failed relationship, he wants a fresh start and a new home in the mountains. Marley lives next door and with meddling moms wins a date with Jameson. Can past hurts stand in the way of their HEA?
I enjoyed this read and especially the epilogue. I am looking forward to reading more soon.

Jamie and Marley are both down and out on luck. They want to take a break and figure out what is next as they heal. This means moving back home to Scarlet Ridge. A decision neither thought they would ever make. When they realize they are both back they need to forgive past mistakes and see if a second chance is in their future.
A silent auction with an Aunt and mother matchmaking. What could go wrong? Jamie and Marley were fun characters. This was a quick read that I really enjoyed. Their forgiveness of the past and learning to move forward was relatable to everyone’s life.
Jameson gets a second chance with Marley his first love
Marley and Jameson both returned to Scarlet Ridge heartbroken and hurting from recent breakups. Marley is living above her mother's garage and it's right next door. Jameson returned to stay briefly with his Aunty and is in his old room till he can build his dream home on the mountain. Who knew one drunken encounter would clear the air and give them their future HEA.
Awwwwwww. I love a good second chance romance! Jameson and Marley spend quite a few years apart because of teenage nonsense - only to find the reason they haven’t met anyone significant in that time is because they were always meant to be. Great short read story!!!!
The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Jameson and Marley. The story keeps us turning the pages with trust issues, heartbreak, second chances and steam.
