If you call into the dark, beware... something might answer.
In 1979 in the small town of Eden Grove, people are going missing. A stranger is taking them, one by one. Only four boys know why he is here and what he wants. Because they led him here. Now, to fix their mistake, they must seek out the town recluse, a woman they fear most. With her help, they will call upon something inhuman and try to manipulate it into stopping the killer before more are taken.
For Lucas and his friends, courage won’t be enough to force a battle between two evils and save the people of Eden Grove. It will take cunning and deception. They must step deep into a dark and malevolent world. The fight will test their hearts and minds and challenge everything they believe. Can four young souls take down a supernatural killer?
Time is running out as the abductions continue. To reach the light, they must cross into the dark once more. A new horror thriller from the bestselling author of On Gravedigger Road and The Whisper Killer. "Set in 1979, with loads of nostalgia and tons of chills... creepy..." — Top2040 Suspense

Teen boys, Lucas, Rico, Tommy, and Joey live in the 1979 small town Eden Grove, Illinois. The boys discover people missing taken by a stranger one by one.

Tommy’s stepdad is a violent drunk. His favorite past times are beer drinking and family beatings. Tommy has the bruises and scars to prove it. His three friends are disgusted with their friend’s father and decide to conjure up Malakai, the Scream Collector, during a campout in the forest outside of town. Years ago, they found an old mysterious tomb on one of their campouts. It showed a plethora of pictures of monsters. For the fun of it, they follow the books’ directions and summon a supernatural being who will pluck the drunk from his home, never to be seen again.

It took a week before fliers began to sprout up around town about missing people. (Somethings never work as planned.) The boys know who is responsible: THEM. So, they do what any young teen would do, visit the town witch, who lives in a spooky old house on a hill in the outskirts of town. They figure Mrs. Thornton would know what to do.

Thus begins Rod Little’s 335-page horror novel, The Scream Collector. With a character driven plot, that doesn’t quit with surprises, Little’s novel is a page turner. The book’s settings are vivid, the characters are three dimensional, and the plot keeps you riveted to your seat to the unexpected twists and turns.

I highly recommend The Scream Collector to any reader who loves a good tale of horror.
