Afton and Corey.
They had one blissful crazy night after graduating high school, and then nothing til now. No this isn't a secret baby story... It's actually a really nice second chance romance with a dash of intrigue and suspense and mystery. What happened in past to create the animosity between her grandfather and the town council??
After that night, neither talked of it to each other or to their friends. Both left for college and this is their first meeting since. Corey has always regretted not calling Afton afterwards. Her family is from the proverbial wrong side of the tracks. Her parents ran off and left her with her bootlegger but sweet hearted grandfather. Corey's family is heavily into politics and he plans to follow in his father's footsteps. But since that night, he has come to realize just how special their connection was and he wants it back.
The town mayor however has other plans for Afton and her grandfather.
saftey it's safe imho

Not realizing that I hadn’t read the first 7 books in this series, I quickly binge read them all to here. In Aspen, Corey Kendall is sworn in as the new representative for the council of his town, taking over from his father. (Who is a piece of work!). There is another rep- Larry Downs and Mayor Gardiner. We find out that the council is not on the up and up. Thank goodness for Corey, because he believes in doing what is right for the town. Not just what the ‘good old boys’ want- the mayor and his father. Johnny Searle wants to open up a whiskey distillery and not be making moonshine anymore. Johnny is being helped by his granddaughter, Afton, who Corey had a fling with in high school. There are a lot of hoops to jump through for them to get that distillery. Things go to heck and Afton is threatened. Then when Corey tries to help, things fall through business wise for him.

The ending made me cry and it was bittersweet. I hate corruption of people in power and the mayor and council shouldn’t ever be corrupt, but they are in this town. It saddened me to see it, but things are put right in the end. Mostly. I really enjoyed the love story that surrounded the crazy in the book. I hope that there are more books in the series.

Corey and Afton when drunk at a party at had a great night but then he shut her out. 6 years later she is back home to help her grandfather to open a distillery but the mayor kept turning them down and refusing for them to say their plans. Corey was on the council taking his father’s place and he getting told to not let them have their way by both the mayor and father. Corey and Afton couldn’t stay away from each other and they found why the mayor hated her grandfather so much. ATF had been called to investigate his still and take her grandfather in but her grandfather on speaker phone told everyone what had happened. Good book!.

Ashton and Corey are from different sides of the tracks whose relatives don’t like each other. Ashton’s grandfather was funny with his secret not so legal whiskey distillery. She’s trying to help him create a legitimate business out of it but the slimy underhanded mayor is going to do whatever it takes to stop them. Corey was a crush and secret one night stand years ago but he’s never forgotten her and despite the mayor and his father’s objections wants a second chance. I loved that Ashton fostered animals. There was a mystery in this story with some suspenseful moments.

Flaws and all…

Corey Kendall has plenty of them…though he hides it under a guise of being a good guy, a rule follower, the new guy on the town rep. He took Afton’s virginity, cheated on his high school girlfriend and acted like a douchebag to Afton the next day, ghosting her and ignoring her. Does he make up for being an A? I thought he needed to work a whole lot harder to atone since the second before he saw Afton again, he was planning on maybe marrying someone else who fit in with his and his families plan.

Lots of drama with Afton’s legit business and her outlaw grandfather.

I have never read a Cindy Stark novel before, but I’m sure glad I read CRAZY ONE MORE TIME! What a beautiful story! I’m very excited to read her previous books now. This absorbing story combines both the beautiful sensory details of a charming small town with heartfelt characters, a moving plot, and a story with so much depth. CRAZY ONE MORE TIME is a suspenseful read with characters I rooted for, and some lovely details that brought the town of Aspen to life. I highly recommend this story if you need a complete escape from life.

Corey and Afton knew each other in school and after a one night, he never contacted her again. Corey followed the family rules and became a city council member while Afton comes home six years later to start a distillery with her grandpa that raised her. Her grandpa and the mayor have secrets and the twists change everything. So many battles and judgements come at them as they fight for their chance at happiness and fair play. Great story and ending that was hard to set down.

This is a fun and flirty small town romance. It is a second chance love story with a girl from the wrong side of the tracks and a guy going places. Afton has returned to town after being away at college for years. She is a kind a loyal friend. Corey is the newest member of the city council. He is focused and driven. There are some wonderful characters that provide entertainment as you turn the pages. Afton and Corey reignite their relationship and sail into the future.

This is a second chance romance with two characters who spent one night together before both left town to go to college. Now they've both returned and find they are attracted to each other. The only question is how Corey being on the city council and Afton's grandfather's hostility towards the mayor will impact their getting together. This story is small town at its best (or worst) with some of the happenings. There are some surprising twists and they get their HEA.

A new to me author, and a fun small town story. Add in a second chance, some small town drama, a little mystery, and a secret or two. Ashton is back in town to help her grandfather and Corey is new to small town politics. The two have a history, and were from different sides of the town tracks. But that is in the past. Be prepared for some entertainment from this town and it’s characters.

Thank you to Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Summary: I enjoyed the 8th installment to the Aspen series. This book is about Afton (interesting name) wants to open a LEGIT Whisky Distillery in Aspen. Afton went to college, but never forgot the one night she spent with Corey Kendall in high school. Of course she was hurt because he never called her again. She knew it was because she was from the wrong side of the tracks and he the other side.

Corey, has thought about Afton since that one night too. After he is made Councilman, Afton and her grandfather go before the committee to get the liquor license. The Mayor shoots the request down and Corey interjects that they should not dismiss the request so quickly. As the story continues, you realize that there are secrets that have been hidden for years between her grandfather and the Mayor.

In the meantime, Corey and Afton reconnect and attempt not to blur the lines between a relationship and Corey’s position as Councilman. The story is a good one and takes a turn at the end that you don’t see coming. Read this book and find out how Corey and Afton manage to look beyond the past and into the future.

I Enjoy this Series

I love a story where two kids meet in high school and have that moment or spark and then find themselves face to face again sometime down the road and that chemistry is still there. This story had a lot more mystery to it. The what's gonna happen kinda moments. I really liked the kind of man Corey was despite his upbringing. He went for what he wanted no matter what others opinions were on the matter. I loved the relationship Afton had with her grandpa. Don't see many stories where the girl is raised by her grandpa. At the end of the story once the big mystery unfolded my heart broke. I was not expecting the things that happened. In the end everything turned out well.

Corey and Afton new each other briefly, but they both left town. Now he's moving up in town politics, and she is back to start a distillery with her grandfather. They get caught in old scandals, and they have to decide if trying a relationship is worth the risk. The political part of the story wasn't my favorite. What made this four stars was Corey's steadfast determination to do the right thing (and apologize for his previous mistakes) and Afton's courage in the face of the unknown. Corey and Afton have great chemistry, and I loved them as a couple.

I've got to say I really struggled with first 65% of this book. Corey has rubbish excuses for leaving her after taking Afton virginity. Her grandpa refusing to explain his weird behaviour. But eventually things started to spice up. Corey was not taking no as a answer and Afton started to investigate grandpa on her own.
This made me burst into tears and I'm absolutely gutted with a certain part but glad about HEA with Corey and Afton. Love the rescue animals bit.
