With beautiful artwork and scripture from the Jerusalem bible, the Classical Scriptural Rosary is inspired by the way many prayed the Rosary in the middle ages; with each bead representing an event in the lives of Jesus and Mary. Contains the Joyful, Sorrowful, Luminous and Glorious mysteries.
Shows that the rosary indeed comes from the Holy Scriptures. Proving indeed what Pope Paul VI states, that "The Rosary is the compendium of the entire Gospel!"
A decent journey through the scriptures while meditating on the mysteries, and a great deal of background information on how the Rosary came into practice. My protestant bias is showing here as I am unsure as to how the final two Glorious Mysteries (the assumption & coronation of Mary) have any scriptural backing (some verses are of course used, but are debatable, and various fathers/catechisms are quoted as support.)
Regardless, this is a great book to assist with meditating on the most holy mysteries, no doubt.
I absolutely love this rosary book. This is the book my mother used as I grew up. It keeps you focused and intentional throughout your entire prayer time.
