My name is Neil, and I write The Café Merle series of books with my friend and editor Anita Hewlett. We do it for the love of achievement, reading it aloud to each other and the ability to put our names in the Amazon Search bar.

We both have full-time jobs, and will continue to do so until this wonderful hobby of ours is successful enough to allow us not to. Such is the dream of many, so we won't be too disappointed if it doesn't happen.

I enjoyed this book. Was an easy and engaging read. The story kept me intrigued. Had a nice ending.

Some interesting historical references.

Liked the character development - especially Jacque

Found a few typos and some of the writing style was confusing. had to go back and reread a few sentences that I could never really make sense but it didn't diffuse the story any.

I see that there is a book 2 in the works - would read it too.

This book is a fun read. There’s a little history, a little fantasy and a whole lot of interesting and lively characters.
