I cannot express how much I LOVE this book. Again this is a book from my childhood and every time I see it I get excited. Despite this story being a classic, it gets even better because it comes with little PUPPETS! I absolutely loved these puppets as a child, I used to read through the book and act it out with my little puppets. I had the three little pigs and wolf on my fingers whilst reading through the story. I love that this edition comes with finger puppets as you get to really explore the story, and often I even changed it up a bit, why wouldn't you put a spin on an old classic. For me it just combines the two things that children love; reading and playing.

Not only are the puppets amazing, the illustrations really support the use of them. The illustrations are so informative that you could go through the illustrations and know the story without reading the words. The illustrations provide the perfect script for your play, without even reading the words. This is particularly great for children who might struggle to read for various different reasons. It lets them explore the story without the need to read words. I really love the fact that the use of the puppets let you experiment with the story, it opens the story up to children's vast imaginations. Furthermore, through adding play to the story it supports the development of language. Children can talk about the story with each other, give each other different roles and even add to the end of the story.

This book particularly lends itself to KS1. With this book you can explore adverbs, verbs, adjectives. In addition to this you can also explore what different types of sentences are used. The book uses quotes and questions, amongst the other forms of sentences present. I would definitely use this book for drama in KS1, retelling the story, exploring the characters and even changing the ending. You could also use this book to explore everyday materials in KS1, you could discuss the different materials the houses were made out of, discuss why they fell down and what material could you use instead to build the houses.

Didn't include the puppet set with the book I read (same cover but with a little wider blue stage curtain boarder on the cover), but still a nice version of this classic.
