Short little read with interesting herb profiles and info on microwave drying (had no idea that was a thing haha)

Very, very dated though - and no pictures/diagrams of the herbs they described. Seemed like a major oversight.

And these gals are OBSESSED with some random herbalist book from the 1600s, quoting it a gazillion times in their short 96 page book.

But hey. Learned a bit about herbs and how to dry them.

A nice directory to garden herbs and their uses, contains information about culinary and craft uses for the various herbs.

Very outdated obviously, but had good microwave drying directions. Was just too old to give dehydrating instructions apparently!

This was a very useful book if you want to home-dry your own herbs. It includes the harvesting of the herbs as well as thee use of the microwave in addition to air-drying, which can speed up the process in many cases and still preserve the essence of the herb. Herbs are listed in alphabetcal order and they include those you might want for your kitchen as well as aromatics and others with natural medicial benefits. The book is clear, well-illustrated, and my copy is now well-used. I review it as I take it out for another summer's use.

This is a good basic book with instructions and pointers on drying about 60 different herbs. What it is missing is a more detailed description for herbalists on the uses of each herb. It would be handy to have this info all in one place rather than going back and forth between several different books. There is, however, clear direction on how to craft with each herb. I wasn't really interested in that, though. I am more interested in culinary and medicinal uses. Good info on drying an abundant harvest of the herbs listed, though.
