And Adelaide has trusted the wrong man before... With twists and turns that weave through betrayal and dark secrets, you won't want to let your guard down for anyone
I saw the author make a self-rec post in a FB group saying it had wyvern and enemies-to-lovers.... I said say less 😂
I've never bought a book I hadn't heard people talking about before but when I say I'm obsessed, I'm obsessed. I can't wait for book two, and this was a great book to read after Fourth Wing, which I know people say they fall into reading slumps after.
The romance doesn't kick in too fast which I like, giving it true e2l vibes, butttttt the attraction is there 😌😉
I love the culture that's built for the nation the FMM spends most of her time in during book 1 and how it references viking culture that I already know to make it not feel like a history lesson. I personally tend to get lost when world building happens in the early books of a series but I lovedddd this.
This was a great debut book for Brianna. It kept me engaged and I was looking forward to each upcoming chapter. The budding romance and broken hearts felt very realistic and you could feel what the FMC was going through. I'm looking forward to the second book in the series.
That being said, the ending felt very rushed and almost anticlimactic when you realized this HAD to be book one in a series, and not a stand-alone. (Maybe others knew that going in, but I didn't, so I wasn't expecting that). The epilogue felt more like it should just be a "three months later" last chapter of the book instead of being labeled an epilogue and that just threw me off.
I'll definitely be reading the next book, and I'm looking forward to watching the author's growth too.
This fantasy romance was everything I needed it be! I have never read fantasy romance before so I was sure what to expect. Throne of Betrayal exceeded all of my expectations! Adelaide is a badass FMC who is betrayed by her lover James. Cassius saves her in more ways than one! They are truly perfect for eachother, until the end when a secret may end up being revealed. This book ends on such a massive cliff hanger that my heart will be aching until book two comes out! Overall I give this book 5⭐️ and 3🌶️. There isn’t a lot of spice but the scenes this book does have are 🔥. This book is the authors debut piece and you would have no idea just reading! This is truly written like it was written from a seasoned author! If you’ve never read fantasy, I highly recommend starting here!

I had the lovely pleasure of reading this early, and what can I say other than LOVED IT! This is giving off Reign tv series vibes, touch her and I’ll kill you, came for the hero stayed for the villain, mythical creatures, spice, murder mystery, amazing character development just Chefs kiss. Brianna’s writing style is so good and this being her debut book I can tell she is going to do amazing things. “Hello lovely” “ I’m not your enemy but your weapon. Wield me.” “To the death” and so many more good quotes in this book I cannot wait for the second!
I am craving more between Cassius and Addy!!!! Ugh. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. It’s u fair that we have to wait until next summer. 😢 I loved the way the author waited until the very last bit of the book to share a piece of vital information that the reader almost had forgotten about (at least I did because I was so caught up in the enemies to lovers romance that blossomed).
I literally couldn’t stop reading. My 15 hour car ride today flew by because of the how fantastic this book was. Talk about holy plot twist with Addy and James! 😱 true enemies to lovers or is it. 🤫 👀 Who do you trust at this point? 😩The betrayal was not what I was expecting. Can we talk about the ending because I literally gasped. I need book 2 asap.

My only complaint is not having book 2 in my hands- I miss Addy.
The pace kept me intrigued, the characters kept me caring, the world was built not too slow or too fast- I had no problem immersing myself. From the first chapter I was invested and found myself sneaking pages throughout the day.
This book was so good, it had my attention from the beginning. I loved how the relationship between the FMC and MMC developed and all the little twists thrown in! It very much remi ded me of Khal Drogo and Daenerys in a fun way. Highly recommend 👌🏻
I LOVED this book finished it in 2 days because I was obsessed it was the perfect amount of spice, romance, suspense, and fantasy. CANNOT wait for the 2nd book 🥰
Local author (Franklin, IN), Brianna E. Wilson has penned a daring and fast paced romantasy novel that will appeal to those who loved strong heroines and brute men with big hearts. Adelaide is her father's only heir and is looking forward to ruling the kingdom of Tellus someday. When her father is accused of poisoning a neighboring kingdom's queen (who also happened to to be her betrothed's mother) war erupts and Adelaide is forced to flee the castle and seek help from an unlikely source; the broody, over-confident brute of a king from Mare. There isn't much known about the mysterious island of Mare; whenever merchant ships travel that way they never return. With no other options, Adelaide must trust this king if she wishes to avenge her father and reclaim the throne. Full of twists turns, shocking reveals, and smoldering slow burn romance; readers will be clambering to read the next book in the series, Throne of Wings and Ash.
I'm so glad to finally have read this book! It started off so good, and continued to be so intriguing! I felt like I wasn't reading, but watching a movie the whole time! I'm so excited for the next one!
I'm so glad you are starting your dream of writing, Brianna! You definitely already have a great start!
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much based on the cover, but I will say I’m very glad I read this book. Cassius pleeeease ❤️🔥 I did happen to figure out the ending mid book so i wasn’t as surprised as I would’ve liked. I’m hooked and depending on how the rest of the series goes, it might be in my top 10 fantasies
Super cute story that keeps you on your toes. Constantly keeps you guessing what’s going to happen next. I also love love-triangles where you don’t know what’s going to happen and I love enemies to lovers, I feel like this book has it all!
